for some historical context about the scene at 2:01 . i found nothing online of liechtenstein during the great depression, and it was around this era. throughout ww1 liechtenstein was very close to austria-hungary at the time, and that made the allied powers suspicious of liechtensteins involvement, despite them being neutral. a huge embargo economically was forced on liechtenstein. the country was getting so bad, eventually in 1919 they signed a treaty with their swiss neighbours where the swiss would represent liechtenstein and that they would have their back economically. idk if switzerland was in crisis too at the time, but i assume so due to the influenza crisis at the time. more than 50% of the swiss population was hit by the first three waves.
