The knee design is very creative. The movements are relatively quiet compared to other humanoid robot projects that I follow. Very inspiring work. Thanks for the presentation.👍
amazing video!!! I really like the walking cycle unlike other humanoid robots that have a inaccurate walking motion, this one is excellent, would you happen to have an update? will you post one on January 23 2022 (3 years from this one)? I would love to see where you are now, or better yet, see Ameca walking and emoting!!
I know , right? The hubo legs for poor Sophia are so slow , awkward and noisy. The legs that Disney Imagineers made for the " Baby Groot" are much better and stable , but they probably don't want to sell any part of their copyright to H.R or E.A. for our helpful electronic buddies. The H.R self recharging upgraded mobility base is pretty fast, maneuverable and practical. But they aren't EVER going to be able to navigate up a flight of stairs ,or manage a common city curb that way!
Why cant we use this energy and technology and money with living HUMANS that need prosthetics?!?!?!?! Ridiculous that humans have to suffer and use such ancient technology prosthetics when we have this technology? Humans have to suffer while this crap is being wasted on nonliving nonhuman shards of metal. Where are our priorities?
This whole field started long time ago with its founding father Miomir Vukobratovic working on exoskeletons for patient rehabilitation, and only afterwards it moved to walking robots. When Will Jackson says at 0:58: _"Walking is all about falling and balancing and catching yourself. Dynamic walking running is all about being able to put your foot on the floor in the right place at the right time"_, he is alluding to the _"zero moment point theory"_ of Miomir Vukobratovic, on which all dynamic walking is fundamentally based.
Wtf is wrong with u.. if u have the money go and do it! Their research is impressive and that would later benefit prosthetics industry too.. there are other companies with impressive robotic prosthetics so there's no need for everyone else to research on the same problem!!

Well they will be incorporated into prosthetics.

The creators of this thing should be tried and convicted for crimes against humanity now not after humans are redundant!!!!
