It's 2022 and this phone has headphone jack, dedicated shutter button, easy removable sim tray with sd card slot and also a 5000 mah battery. Other brands say no space to put a headphone jack in the phone. We have been fooled nicely.

Blessings for your profound comments. We've been really fooled by the market and these fanboys who call themselves RUclips reviewers. Sony has been criminally underrated for so long, but it's only a matter of time b4 they rise, and now is that time.
So happy with my mark 2, this is my next phone.
Not removing features. This company deserves the respect as compared to other OEMs especially Apple and Samsung. If only I can trust Sony with regular software updates with android, this will be the best phone period.

They don't deserve it. Quite the irony you mentioned a trend other OEMs follow, also in favour of Sony as per your preference yet they followed Apple and Samsung trend by removing the charger. No respect here for me.
If they maybe put less price on these super expensive phones but nah expect the cameras their phones still has bad softwares and overall usage

@Paul I have only mentioned about notch and punch hole trend. I would love iPhone and other android phone without a notch. I am not judging build quality or any other aspects. I prefer this type of display design over notch or hole punch.

Kudos to Sony for maintaining that 3.5mm jack, micro SD card & shutter button. That price definitely won't help them break through the mainstream market though but maybe they actually wanted it to be that exclusive of a phone.
If only xperia has 4years support for updates. Improved software like the samsung. It will definitely be the no. 1 phone. Headphone jack and SD card slot is totally the best feature.

@@SL-kq1ns No idea. But just after the announcement, the US website mentioned that they were going to be shipping the devices with 30W chargers. At least, that's what I saw at the time.

A criminally underrated company. Sony comes with yet another masterpiece and instead of them getting the much-needed applause, you hear stuffs like, ''no charger is a dealbreaker'' when in truth Apple and Samsung which they all love had removed those already. Sony kept the headphone jack and expandable storage, yet you all are not satisfied. You can't please everyone, so it's ok not to like them but do so honestly and objectively cos some companies you all follow blindly isn't doing any better

@@lilchris7500 well that depends on the individual. If your someone like me who isn't bothered about software and more concerned about camera then this is the one. Me being a photographer and videographer this is definitely something I would go for. I still prefer it over Samsung and iPhone. Most will disagree but this is my personal experience

Losing the charger is stupid. I manage corporate phones and happened to use Xperias because of not needing a SIM eject tool (it makes a difference when setting up 30-40 handsets at a time) and including the charger. Yes, people have old chargers. Most people lose or break them within weeks or months in a corporate environment. If you managed to keep the charger and in good nick, chances are the old phone is also in great condition and can be passed to the new user as a complete set. So now Sony wants 50 quid for the charger on top of an increased price for the phone. What are most people going to do... In my experience, buy an off brand, usually low quality and low spec charger and complain that it charges slowly or makes a burning smell. Seen it all.
engineering samples don't include charger. 30W charger will be included for the retail one according to LTT
@@josir1994 engineering samples don't generally go to reviewers unless it's a specific technical review, and it does seem like they all have final retail boxes. The Sony UK web site also shows, under "Sustainability" a picture of a charger and a cable with a line through it. They say most Xperia owners already have a charger.

I'm a die hard Sony fan and for past 15 years I was using Sony only, i was using 5ii till last month and for no reason the diplay broke from inside and formed a pink line vertically and since Sony pulled out from India. I went ahead and bought S22 Ultra 1TB edition which costs less than Mark 4. It's really amazing and it has 1TB onboard storage which is awesome since good 1TB sd cards costs 40% of the phone cost. Only thing is i don't have headphone jack which i got used to since I used Xperia XZ2 (I still have it). All are amazing in S22 ultra and offers lot of customization features as well along with awesome camera capabilities.
i think that 1TB suits you alot since you seems like the type that held onto one phones until you actually need to upgrade

US release comes in 512GB. Other countries comes in both 256GB and 512GB.
This is in my first Wish and best Choice. I always love Xperia.

A truly perfect ideal flagship I should call it. Except for the lack of a charger, it is a true flagship in all senses. Not even Samsung or apple could match it. Samsung was pretty close to an ideal flagship. The closest was Note 20 ultra, it just lacked a smaller battery and a headphone jack. Even the S22 ultra was close enough just the SD card slot, headphone jack and charger were sufficient to do it. When these companies realise that these matters, they will have record-breaking sales. Let's just appreciate Sony for a moment and help it grow & shine.

It comes with a 30w charger however the content creators (RUclipsrs) won't be getting that charger as their job is to showcase the phone and photos

The worst part of Xperia phones is the release timeline. 1 IV is supposed to be released in June. 2 days ago Qualcomm unveiled Snapdragon 8+ gen 1, developed on 4nm TSMC rather than Samsung which apparently brings a massive improvement in power efficiency and higher clock speeds. The Adreno in that + version has a clock of 900 Mhz!
The main reason I am skipping 1 IV (I have a 1 II) is the processor. That Snapdragon 8 gen 1 heats like hell and draws a shit ton of power. RIP 5000 mAH battery.

Look I prefer to have a 3.5mm audio jack too. But I solved it by buying 3x usbC dongles with a good DAC and connected them to every wired headphone I have and put a piece of tape around it.
Now all my wired devices have UsbC and they plug right in.
Wether it's a Samsung, iPad Pro, or Xiaomi.
I'm not trippin on that .. Great if it's there but if not no biggy.
Same with SD card, great addition but now I only buy 512GB devices, never looked back.
But again, it's better to have them then to not have them.
No night mode and fingerprint on screen for high price
@@anescarrera7986 what's the point having fingerprint on screen if the speed and reliability is slow? And not having night mode is on purpose and part of Sony philosophy of "what creator intended" and not tinkering it with superficial contrast colour and fake dynamic range AI. And you always can change the parameter with manual control and will much have better result of what iPhone and Samsung can do with their auto AI

I was one of the first customers to buy sony's mobile phones Z1, it had alot of issues, but i really loved it. After almost 10 years, i cant go back to sony, even though they are going strictly to higher levels of quality and technology, but their mobiles doesn't fit the design of what people are looking for now days
I've used sony from x performance snap 820, and yes it can record video at 120fps at 1x speed playing time , so i think sony really really the first phone can record 120fps at 1x playback speed, so we can easily edit it...
And this feature still goes till now
It's in the basic cam app, and open the slow mo , then choose 120fps, and then dont slow it down but just save it, and u will get 120fps 1x speed

Sony have been well known to not follow trends of other manufacturers but removing the charger and cables, especially from a flagship device is very disappointing! Let's face it, reducing carbon footprint is not the real reason for making these cutbacks! I have a feeling this will put off a lot of customers for a company struggling to get attention in the phone market!

If using auto mode in the whole comparison, this phone will lose in every category (except in detail preservation) because how poor dynamic range and noise reduction in low light

Looking at Sonys market share, this isn’t gonna start a trend. Neither are people gonna crib. Not a lot of people are even gonna buy a Sony to begin with.
Not including the charger and the cable in the box to look environmentally friendly is not a good move from Sony, I mean, when purchasing them separately they'll for sure be shipped in a box or whatever conditioning type!
This is the reason i switched to oppo, 80 watt charger in de box, screenprotector pre installed, case in the box. In the end if you don't have an usb c charger, it will "damage" the "environment" even more, because of the second packaging just for a charger or headphones, case etc. In the end companies like samsung apple and sony are just scamming people and some blindly believe the lies 🤣

Usually when I open up a review video of Sony phone Samsung or apple promo add will show up first. Sony please do the same!
Receive mine on Wednesday but the zoom 85mm and 125mm photos shot in raw mode are so soft and look out of focus. I’ve done some digging and apparently over on Reddit people are saying the zoom camera looks extremely sort.
