What a pleasure it is to hear someones realistic thoughts and feedback on their RV. I hear great stories about Grand Design and their customer service, that is why Im going to be looking into a Grand Design for myself at Northgate.
We were also told how good their customer service was. We had our awning break first trip, they did not pay! Our refrigerator has gone out, recall on microwave, window shades have fallen off, the wood trim has fallen off. The latch handles to the storage broke, on lock and now both air conditioners are out and it was in the 90’s last week. Never ever again. I can’t wait to trade it in. It is a 2018!
The frig door hitting the TV happened to us too. We have a 2018 Keystone Outback 266RB trailer and being newbies at the time we did not close the frig doors all the way on our first trip. Well the TV is next to the frig so while traveling the frig door flew open and the handle hit the TV (many times) destroying it. We replaced the TV ($400+) when we got home and before we traveled again I cut, rounded the corners, stained, sealed, and attached a 1" x 2" by 4' board vertically in the space between the frig and the TV. So now if the frig door gets loose again the board stops it from hitting the TV. And unless I point it out (which I often do because I did an excellent job matching the finish) no one notices the mod I did. I feel this is a design flaw and I let Keystone know it.
We have a 2020 2400BH that we purchased last July. We rent it out. I did have the same water problem you have had and that was an easy fix. We have one closet door that a hinge screw has stripped out but I put a toothpick in the hole and screwed it back together and it has held. Our renters just love that it does not fall apart like the other brands do.
When traveling on the road, there is significant stress on the TT and adjustments to trim, etc. will need to be made. This is the case with this review. Grand Design is one of the best manufacturers out there. You cannot beat their thermal package insulation and in many cases, you won't have to even use your furnace because of the superior insulation. If you have a electric fireplace at a campground, it will warm the entire living area. I ceramic tower heater for the bedroom and/or bathroom that you can set up on a timer is the best way to warm a room without using the propane.
This is all actually pretty impressive. And also reading the comments from others with Grand Designs. These are all small parts for the most part and easy DIY fixes. I can't say the same for my 2018 Palomino. We're looking to upgrade and out of all the brands out there, Grand Design is on top. Unfortunately we can't afford all the bells and whistles, so we're looking at the Transcend Xplor line, but still impressed with the quality construction on them.
We just purchased a barely used garage kept 2019 Grand Design Reflection 28bh. Slept in only 6 nights, it’s like new. Really like the quality so far, really great rig.
Just watched this video for the second time! We are planning on looking at a 2017 model this weekend! Really excited! Just sold a 2015 Keystone Hideout 27DBS and ready to upgrade!
I know this video is 2 years old. I hope this comment might help some people. This is my 4th summer with our 2019 2150RB. I've never felt like the brakes have been doing a good job. But, I'd never had anything with electric brakes so I didn't know how they should feel. I learned to drive in a manner that includes driving slower, braking early and generally treating the entire rig with a lot of respect. All said, I've known from the start that emergency braking was a forgone conclusion . I've always been very worried about this. But the rig was brand new and I reasoned it away as being the way it is. This spring I decided to add two solar suitcases to the rig which included a fair amount of wiring to accomplish what I wanted. This included me having to do some detail work under the trailer. And as it happens, I needed to drill a hole through the deck near the tries. While I was under there, I noticed something so shocking that I very nearly threw up. The wires that go to the brake drum come out between the frame and underbelly cover material only a couple inches away from the tie. Effectively, the way the wire was run, there is no possible way the wire wouldn't touch the spinning tire. I found the wires to have LONG since been worn through. And because the opposite hub is fed from the first hub, neither set of brakes were working. As this issue is original from the factory, I can only conclude that I've never had brakes from the day I picked it up. This whole time the truck has been the sole braking power. This is such an egregious manufacturing flaw that it defies beliefe. This is purely down to how fast and careless the person who put this together was doing their job. One accepts that rv's are built with a bit of shoddy workmanship on the whole. But I assumed that critical things like brakes would be governed by some law. Apparently that ist the case or the laws don't extend all the way to how the wires get to the brakes. This experience has shakin me to my core. I did years of research before buying an rv. I have three summers under my belt. Until last week, I thought I knew a fair bit about the whole rv experience. But to discover that I was totally ignorant to this critical problem really brought me back to the drawing board. I reattached the wires but I still don't know what the brakes should feel like as I've yet to test it. For all I know the trailer brakes will completely lock up under hard braking. Maybe the won't work at all having set idle all this time. I have an appointment with the dealer but it's six weeks out. Folks, check the wiring to your brakes.
We bought the 2019 Imagine 2150 and it has been great just a few interior trim pieces needing a little more adhesive. This is our first trailer so we made rookie mistake. We leave ours parked all summer at a lake and leave the fridge on gas setting. Well if your fridge is in the slide out there is an extra fan to help with cooling. If you do not have batteries plugged in it shuts off. This lake is dry camping BTW. Now we know and use a 100 watt solar panel with no more issues. Really happy with this purchase.
Looks like it has been a solid unit so far, there are always going to be a few small problems no matter what you buy, it's the way the manufacturer and dealer handle the problems that count. So far we have only had a couple of small problems with our Jayco, and we are completely happy with it. Keep up the great videos.
We just ordered the 2021 Imagine 2550RK. Can’t wait until it gets here in March. We are downsizing from a 5th wheel and couldn’t believe all the storage in the Imagine. I think it has the most storage I have seen.
We have the same 2800 bunk house and are extremely happy with ours. Grand Design was so helpful when we thought we had an issue with our heater, turned out to be Operator Malfunction. Great review, safe travels.
Thank You, Thank you for the very detailed video on the issues you had with your Grand Design which was not many. Your honesty will not only help us but many, many others who are shopping for their first or second, third etc. RV. We are shopping for our second RV right now and taking our time to see what is available in the size we want since we purchased our first one 7 years ago. Also you are so right about the Social Media world, way to many people that are negative about everything and will never be satisfied about anything. Great Wisdom. Thank you again and be Blessed.
Our biggest complaint is Thomas Payne garbage furniture and the wood seems to fade/rub off where you've never touched it. Solution: replace anything that says Thomas Payne and shellac your cabinets even though it's a brand new rig. Also wish they would embrace more tiling instead of the horrid wallpaper.
Our new Cherokee has had several things go wrong right away. But I agree with what you said about having realistic expectations. There’s no sense in getting worked up, things happen in the travel trailer world and we just fix them and move on.
I agree about the negative/positive comments. I have a 2017 Keystone Hideout (purchased new) and so far it has been pretty much trouble free. I went in to buying the trailer pretty much ignorant on the trailers (a salesman delight) . But if I would have read all those issues people say they have I probably would not have bought one. So glad we bought and have really enjoyed the life of RV'ing. Have enjoyed your videos.
In May of 2020, we bought a brand new 2021 Grand Design Fifth Wheel 311BHS. We haven't even used it yet and so far we had to have the ladder replaced when we bought it because it was damaged. We had to have seam tape reattached before taking delivery of the RV. We had to have ceiling molding reattached before taking delivery. I had to caulk the roof at the rear because there were areas that had not been caulked at the factory. One of the Schwintek motors quit after opening the slide for the fourth time and I had to bring the RV in to have that replaced. We have a clunking noise in the bunkhouse slide that the dealer says is "normal" and won't fix and I had to reattach the interior slide seal on the kitchen slide because it literally fell off and was laying on the floor. You sir, can consider yourself fortunate. Grand Design is the same as most of the rest. Not very good and since the RV industry isn't regulated, they can build them poorly. You are right however. If they built them right, using good components, they would cost a lot more!
Well the hard truth here is you may simply be unfortunate. The vast majority of Grand Design owners are very happy. We hear from folks almost daily how much they love their rig. I hope your luck changes course soon!!
Picking our new 2800BH up at Northgate on Tuesday. Thanks for all the videos and useful information, it has really helped us with our decision as we have researched the last 6 months. Hope to see you out there at the state parks sometime. Thanks again!
We have a 2019 Imagine. 19RLE. Have only had it for half a season. So far it’s been great. The quality is so much better than others I’ve seen. Thanks for the vid.
We have a 337 RLS This camper has more problems than all the campers we've owned put together. Here is the top 5 problems in the first year of ownership #1 the refrigerator died #2 the wheels on the bed broke off the bed frame # 3 The wall paper started to peeling off the wall #4 One of the awning arm would not close up to the wall #5 One of the propane tank brackets broke off the camper There are eight other problems GD did warranty everything but I didn't buy it to be parked at the dealership garage 🙁
My roof bubbled up as well on my new 22RBE. We pressed all of the bubbles large and small down by hand and they seem to be holding. Probably due to the solar panels we mounted on the front of the roof. The roof oddly has much thicker wood on the front third than the back two thirds. This was a problem when mounting the solar panels. We won't get into the unstapled vinyl in the vents, the misaligned drawers, the bent steps, the screws that punched through the exterior wheel vinyl, the multiple 6 inch holes drilled under the kitchen cabinets for wiring, the open to attic a/c vents (explained why the a/c would not cool even though the air was cold), etc. Would I buy another one, no. I would look elsewhere. I thought I was buying a quality trailer. I did not take the trailer back to the dealer as I have heard horror stories about trailers being in dealerships for a long time and instead repaired things myself. BTW, Grand design said I could not replace my recalled pressure regulator my self because the dealer had to do a bleed down test on it per DOT. After waiting months they called me to service it. After the tech was done I asked him if he did the bleed down test and he said "yep" and held up his spray bottle of soap. I was livid and stormed into the store to complain. Apparently they are not into following DOT requirements. Did I mention the microwave not mounted into the wood correctly..................
Grand Design seems like a good manufacturer. Watching your video, I see a lot of similarities to our Coachmen FE 292BHDS. We had leaf springs go flat which resulted in tires rubbing the wheel wells but that was easily, though costly, repaired. We have the same trim issues, but that is common. We even had the same toilet issue!
We have a 2017 Grand Design Solitude 310 GK. We had a bedroom slide problem. GD took care of it though it was out of warranty. We lost some window side balances on the first few trips. Fridge has a mind of its own. Bedroom closet door sticks. Family room slide is making marks on the floor. Customer service at GD is amazing. Love ❤️ Enjoy. Hope you are hunkered down safely. (RV DMC) Alice
I used to leave the light strips on 24/7 outside. One night I saw the front v strip had a flame coming out of one of the led. Definitely would never trust leaving light strips on anymore.
We're considering Grand Design for our next rig, just from what we've researched about quality and customer service. We've loved our Forest River Vibe though! We've had some similar issues, so we were thinking about doing an update video as well. Thanks for this, it was quick but helpful!
Excellent overview. Glad to hear not too much. RV's are not built like cars etc, with all the movement will bound to be some items. I need to do the same in items with our Rockwood. Overall the unit is good, however we had a couple of more major items at the start. I believe more of my issues were related to a poor dealership for follow up and proper repairs. Forest River / Rockwood authorized the repairs, the dealer added pressure to the situations by providing poor service and quality of the work. Be safe in travels!
2019 Imagine 3170BH, our light over the dining was defective, the sewer connection work light went out after our second trip. That's it. And the dealer sent me the lights to fix instead of driving the 6 hour round trip. Took me about 1/2 hour to change both lights....easy peasy! Love our rig!
We bought a 2021 GD Imagine 2610ML 4/2021 it has one MAJOR design problem!! in the kitchen sink cabinet it has the Water Heater& Forced Air Heater and all the plumbing connections for the bathroom in that area Pex is used on some of the water pipes and flex hose on some of the supply's>>Problem the 4 inch heater vent flex was torn and the hot air was blowing under the sink compartment first time we had to use the heater was in 11/2021 result>> all the water flex hoses swelled up and leaked at every fitting flooding the trailer>>we were on the trailer pump that night so it wasn't high pressure and we were sleeping when this happened SOOOO I fixed the heater vent, pulled the water heater out and cut the floor out and put all new pex back in to all the plumbing fixtures>>Fixed the problem If you have a 2610 ML check this out so it don't happen to you. No help from dealer or Grand Design>>Not Grand Design any more that has been sold to another Cheap Builder Sorry 4 the Rant.
Gotta be one of the best realistic videos I’ve seen in, I can’t tell You how long…anyways. Thank You! I just bought a 2017 2650RK today. This shows me what I should look for around the unit. Appreciation post.
We really loved our 2019 2800bh. We had some of the same (common) issues that you have had. The only other ones I can think of are the front driver side pass through storage door was so warped it wouldn’t close and the awning led strip stopped working (bad connection inside of the wall). Both were fixed without issue under warranty. Everything else has been the common stuff that you plan on fixing yourself as just being part of the life of an RV owner. The worst problem we had was one that has nothing to do with the build quality of the rig ... we hit black ice and rolled the trailer. :-( (I wish the warranty covered that.). We now have a Reflection 150 Series 268bh. I guess that says something about Grand Design. :-)
We couldn't pull the handles open to drain the tanks on our second trip. We were out in the middle of nowhere, so we had to cut through the bottom to manually open the drains. GD did not cover the labor, which was disappointing. Several other leaks. But overall we like our trailer. Just sad that GD wouldn't pay the labor, which was significant. (They said we shouldn't have cut into the bottom.
Every RV manufacturer has it's issues. My biggest issue with my trailer was that all the bolts holding the body to the frame were loose! I just happened to be washing my trailer one day and saw a nut loose on one of the bolts. I started checking all the other bolts and they were all loose! One bolt was spinning and the only way to tighten it is to open up the wall (interior or exterior) to get to the head of the bolt. I ended up double nutting all the bolts and adding Locktite blue. I have seen a trailer on the side of the road where the body separated from the frame! It wasn't pretty.
2020 Solitude 301GK after two summers has experienced: failed rear axle brakes (GD replaced rear axle), all valences have fallen down (have rebuilt all of them myself), center island came loose (rebuilt and remounted with reinforcement shelf), main slide hydraulic cylinder failed, main side crown mounding fell off, entry door hitting door frame, front AC broke loose (incorrectly mounted at factory), entry steps failed (welded in reinforcements myself), too many plumbing leaks to count (tightened up all the fittings). Hoping we are nearing the end of the “break in” period....
My issues....Cut in the flooring where the slideout moves. One slide out barely slides, have to get friends to help push it in and out. Shower floor blocking was missing and the drain broke. All sorts of interior trim falling off. Again, this camper does not move. All the rubber gaskets had holes...yes holes in the gaskets that compresses on the slides. Propane valving was bad and leaked. Replaced it myself before something bad happened. Frame is rusting. Interior doors are not hanging correctly. I laser leveled this rv. So many other issues.....and Grand Design has done nothing.
We bought a well cared for 2017 RLTS. The outswing on Reflection travel trailers is horrible when you turn. I tore the entire back panel off on the maiden attempt to get out of the driveway. The back panel was secured with screws, into aluminum tubing, about every 20 inches! The fireplace area slide-out gasket had enough gap to let a mouse in (I could see daylight). Same slide-out had a corner trim piece that was very badly placed. I had to cut out about an inch of trim and nail it down. Gasket on top of one of the slide-outs was split. The manual rear stabilizer is not designed to allow you stabilization on anything but a fairly level surface. Both sides drop down together.
Don't have a trailer but this looks EXACTLY like what you should expect and what you should expect to deal with when you have an RV or a trailer unless you want to spend days upon days in hotels or at home because you needed "warranty work" to have a water fitting or screw tightened. Yes some things are major like an electrical issue that is not obvious (like a loose battery terminal) but if you want to bring your trailer / rv in for ALL of those repairs you'll be missing out on a lot of travel time, or quite angry when you discover it pre trip and must get it fixed asap. If you call it a hobby, lifestyle, or a vacation it shouldn't be about getting all your moneys worth out of the warranty, because that'll just be a pain the butt, and the work isn't space station quality. They already got your money and want to keep as much as possible.
Well until its completely back to ambient temp it will produce condensation which will mold and mildew if not allowed to dry. We have latches on the fridge if we were to close it completely. Otherwise we use the clips to keep the door cracked a smidge.
Great video sir. I have the same exact rig, bought in late 2017. Lo and behold, 2 weeks ago I also discovered my fresh water tank was full. I will call GD for the valve. Only minor other things to work on, but otherwise it's been a great unit. Keep up the great work. Safe travels. PS - I discovered the valve issue at Cheaha State Park, east of Birmingham, AL. Great park with RV sites recently renovated. Very nice location to be in nature with the family.
@@WanderingWeekends 10-4. A limitation at Cheaha SP - no cell service in camp. 25 minute drive up the mountain from I-20. Text capability at best. With your rig, I'd lean towards Upper Campground site 4, 5, or 6. Site 4 being the smallest of the three, but provides the most relative privacy based on the layout of the campground. Modern shopping and food services down mountain should you care to partake (Target, Cracker Barrel, etc.) . Happy Trails.
Bernie Jagodzinski we have nothing but wonderful things to say about Grand Design. That is sincere. There is a reason they’re the fastest growing Rv company in history. Good rigs... GREAT service.
@@WanderingWeekends We did alot of research before we purchased our new Grand Design 367bhs and decided that Grand Design was without a doubt the best way to go.
I have a 2020 GD 2600rb and have been scratching my head on how to properly use those gray refrigerator pieces. Thanks to this video I now know. I only have 2. If I had an extra one I would send it to you. TY once again.
Great update video. One question and one recommendation. We’ve had really good non-warranty RV service for our 2600RB at Apalachee RV, they are Hwy 316 in Dacula. Question, why do you only have one battery? You have room in your rail for 2 batteries and it’s always good to have that extra amp hours along.
gakrazykajun I’ve used Apalachee a few times... I’ve had much better service for half the $$ at Atlanta RV literally a mile down the road. As far as a second battery... we’re always hooked up so no real need. If we were to start boondocking I could certainly see us doing a battery upgrade. Great questions!
Did you get a kitchen island model. I know of three islands that collapsed causing floods . According to the owners they said the island is supported by just four bolts. Funny where most people say they sent us parts right away. I own the KZ brand fifth wheel three years 10000 miles and loose screws on screen door and one on the window valance.
I would say you have a perfect rig all that is normal. Most RV manuals says check you sealant on the outside every 90 days. Most people I am sure do not check there sealant and water leaks in and the RV rots out very quickly. RVs take a lot of maintenance to keep them in good condition. RVs are not like cars.
Anything you buy. Is going to break down after time. Some people are better at catching issues better than others. Before they turn into a major problem. But hey enjoy it. That's what all that $ for. Always be thankful for what you have. Could be RV in Cousin Eddies motorhome from Christmas vacation. ☺
Hello, I'm looking at used Grand design travel trailers. Could you tell me what the signs and symptoms are of the walls coming apart? Easily visualized when inspecting, or is there something specific I should look for to make sure I'm not buying one they forgot to weld and bolt?
Awesome videos! Great clarity, love the honesty and especially all the common sense thoughts. 2021 Imagine xls 23bhe is on order and my family can't wait! Thanks for the videos
We have a Grand Design 2020 Reflection and it’s a piece of garbage. We only been able to use it twice since purchased new in fall of 2019. The dealer absolutely refused to warranty the issues, some of which are major. Today on our second use we discovered the dealer did not fix the electric hot water heater, which did not work right from day one. The RV still leaks water onto the floor every time it rains. Again the dealer refused to address this problem, claiming they could not see the water on the floor, then saying the roof needed sealed which was not their responsibility on a new trailer. This is just a few of several serious issues. So sad!
My 2022 transcend has had quite a few issues in fact I bought it brand new and I have lost count of the stupid problems and not only that General RV here I Salt Lake City Utah is a bunch of crooks from service to sales in fact I need to do a video!!!! Consider yourself lucky!!!
We’ve had 5 Grand Designs now (prototype testing) and besides a fridge in this last model no issues. 🤷🏻♂️ I hate you’re having issues… and yes dealers suck.
Appreciate that! Yes, unfortunately drama and negativity seem to draw the views... that’s just not our preference. If something unfortunate needs to be addressed we certainly will but generally we keep things positive. 😊
I'm pretty sure there isn't a safety measure in your water tank ? If I understand you correctly you believe the water was draining into your freshwater tank which would then have an overflow and go where? thanks in advance
I have had no problems in a year. Now that the year is up and the warranty is over. Now I have water in my end compartment at the back of the camper. I thought it might be the hot water tank leaking. I have checked that and no leak. Do you have any suggestions why an outside compartment would be leaking?
Great question. It could be 100 different things. Have you checked the latches to see if they’re still tight? They can work loose over time. Seals all good? Keep in mind water can travel from all over.
People don’t understand that these things are on wheels and take a beating when traveling. Of course things will go wrong. I don’t care if your RV is $40K like mine or a $100K+ RV…things will ALWAYS go wrong. If you’re full-time in the RV like me, you MUST be handy (or learn) and you MUST be willing to deal with issues on your own.
Just bought a Imagine 2670MK 2019 hardly used if not used at all and the sitting area fell apart. The sided fell off and the cheap staples are all they use to attach it. CHEAP! First time we just set it up in a mobile park and side falls off. Sad!
From a mechanics perspective, unless your willing to spend a half million or more, most of them are built in two or three days and are built cheaply do your home work and ask another of questions
ok so we bought a 2021 260rd reflection roof has bubbles all over wtf!! we will see how gd handles it some bullhorn for sure no excuses roof should not have bubbles all over!
Brian Derosett ours is stubborn sometimes but generally it’s from us not letting in correctly. When we pull it back out and make sure top and bottom are evenly retracting it does just fine. Just our experience of course.
A other example of social media skewing reality. The channel you’re recommending repairs roofs. Obviously they’ll see the worst of the worst. This doesn’t mean what they see is the norm. Common sense has been killed off by social media drama. It’s a real problem. I have realistic expectations from this roof. 10-12 years. I’m 5 in and it still looks new. No leaks. I don’t see why it won’t last another 5.
@@WanderingWeekends Not trying to be a downer, but the roof may look great as mine did. Its behind the walls and roof that was the problem. These things leak everywhere. Pull some screws out of the corner trim. and see if they are rusted.
I'll agree they aren't built like yachts... but they aren't priced like yachts either. Also keep in mind they're built to be toys/recreational. I guess I've had good luck with ours. I'm sure 10-12 years down the road something major will need to be addressed but so far we are holding up well.
Thank you for the feedback. May i ask what did you use exactly to re seal the cauking. And also what type of sealant is used around the windows or is it all the same type?
We just got our first travel trailer. As far as sealant goes, are you using that Dicor stuff or something else. Just curious what people are using. I'd like to pick some up for when I need it.
I just bought a 2022 Momentum and the Refrigerator doesn't work. My Wife's disabled and I thought that they were reputable. Sometimes I'm WRONG. I've had it a Week 👎 no frig on order yet.
you got lucky mines a lemon!!!! floors got pink stains on it from cheap vinyl flooring they used!! shower door broke and roof seam at gutter opened up after 3 years and let water in to trailer trim pieces falling off walls have to renail onto wall what a joke wall very disappointed shoulda just got a cheaper one for 10k less been better off
Hello. Quick question. We just bought same Camper Imagine 2800bh. I'm trying to find out how many tank drain pulls does it have? Inside it shows 1 blank tank and 1 and 2 gray. But I only see two pulls to dump it by the drain and after I emptied it my gray 2 still shows full. Is the release pull handle for tank 2 somewhere else?
I have a 265bh transcend 2021 and every time I move location my icebox stops working but it did good while I was traveling with it, can anyone help with this situation
We have a 2020 2800BH that we've only taken out twice so far. It didn't have the refrigerator door spacers, so we ordered this from Amazon smile.amazon.com/Camco-44105-Adjustable-Fridge-Block/dp/B078XXGHYM/ref=sr_1_3?keywords=camco+refrigerator&qid=1584652936&sr=8-3 Also, we had a drip coming from the rear outdoor hose connection near the water heater. I have disconnected it and applied teflon tape and reconnected, but I haven't taken the unit out yet to see if that solves it.
Maybe they made good products but that ended. Ours has been nothing but headaches. In the 9 months we've owned it, we've been without it's use for 50% of the time. Major issues with the slideout, miswiring, and more. I wouldn't want an enemy to have our GD RV as it is junk!
As an original owner, I would say you did VERY WELL! Nice to hear that quality remains a focus of Grand Design.
What a pleasure it is to hear someones realistic thoughts and feedback on their RV. I hear great stories about Grand Design and their customer service, that is why Im going to be looking into a Grand Design for myself at Northgate.
gus Paca congrats on shopping! Northgate was good to us. Safe travels.
This is why we bought a 2019 Grand Design Reflection 28bh. The quality is great and we are really happy.
For 2.5 years, this thing held up well. Makes me feel even better about buying one 😁
Hard Truth congrats!!
That is awesome to hear! We just bought a new 17MKE after our Rpod’s front end literally fell apart. Glad to know they are “darn good”!
Love our GDRV!
Dave Roddy good to hear!!
S. Garza we appreciate you watching! Happy shopping!!
Yes! Since this video (2.5 years ago) our Thomas Payne furniture has completely deteriorated as well. Wood is still fine.
Larry Ellison happy camping guys! Thanks for watching and commenting.
Big Jim's Floors Inc Congrats!! Don’t hesitate to stop by if you see us!
Downsizing Makes Cents stay safe guys! Crazy times...
We just sold our Jayco and purchased a Grand design. Thanks for the honest review. We pick up ours tomorrow. Just connected with you,
Our pleasure! Congrats on the new rig!!
Love the "Changing Lanes" silent shout out. I love their videos.
Chris Chad and Tara are good folks!
Great review of your RV, that is impressive with such a few small things that went wrong. Grand Design does make a quality RV!
We've been happy with our GDRV!
Be safe in travels!
haulin'odie there are certainly different “levels” of dealerships. I hope everything ended up OK...
Welcome to the Grand Design family!
We love our 2017 Grand Design Imagine 2150RB! Only 1 trim peace came loose. We will always be Grand Design customers!!!!
Jeremy Richards 🔥🔥 Love us some GDRV!
We had a few more but nothing earth-shattering and most were taken care of by Grand Design. Ours is a 2018 337
Gotta be one of the best realistic videos I’ve seen in, I can’t tell You how long…anyways. Thank You! I just bought a 2017 2650RK today. This shows me what I should look for around the unit. Appreciation post.
We appreciate you watching!
Ron Terry oh wow... hope everyone was OK!
Really anybody surprised that trim might come lose in a house that has earthquakes all the time? Great report. See you on the road.
Holy crap! Glad this didn't end up much worse.
what brand n model do u have u didnt say
Wow be driving down the hwy.Look in the rearview see the body going right you and trailer going straight .
@@Lauren-vd4qe Forest River.
I noticed that sometimes issues are caused by newbies bit knowing. They just don't know they need to check seals, grease bearings ect...Nice video.
Haley Family it is certainly an issue manufacturers have to deal with!
Thankyou for the honest and positive review thinking of getting this trailer.
Painters tape to keep ur fridge and freezer closed while traveling works great
Well until its completely back to ambient temp it will produce condensation which will mold and mildew if not allowed to dry.
Victor Roman we love the campground recommendations!! Thank you!!
People just don't realize that no RV is perfect. Grand Design is a great company 😊
Are you still happy with this unit? We are looking a new one ourselves as this size and layout look perfect for our family (4 and a Labrador).
Absolutely. Ironically we haven’t had a single issue since this video. We purchased in 2017. Still thrilled.
that's really impressive. i'm looking at grand design right now myself. first trailer ever.
Happy shopping!
I have a 2020 GD 2600rb and have been scratching my head on how to properly use those gray refrigerator pieces. Thanks to this video I now know. I only have 2. If I had an extra one I would send it to you. TY once again.
Charles Kuehne don’t lose them! They’re expensive!!! 😂😂
Great review. This reinforces our decision to order our GD.
Fulltime Dreaming congrats guys!!
just saw this video. you did a great job on this presentation. you could be a salesman.
I’m not sure if that is a compliment or an insult. Haha!
Those loose ceiling bats are a visible indicator of the pitiful quality level of an American manufactured RV!
RV DOG it is certainly a passion. You can’t just purchase and only ever camp in them. Thank you for watching and commenting!
Fantastic Video. Thanks For Posting
Anything you buy. Is going to break down after time. Some people are better at catching issues better than others. Before they turn into a major problem. But hey enjoy it. That's what all that $ for. Always be thankful for what you have. Could be RV in Cousin Eddies motorhome from Christmas vacation. ☺
Absolutely... never take these things for granted.
We have 3 out of 4 walls coming apart in our grand design because they missed welding and bolts are not tight. Grand design won’t cover us.
Hello, I'm looking at used Grand design travel trailers. Could you tell me what the signs and symptoms are of the walls coming apart? Easily visualized when inspecting, or is there something specific I should look for to make sure I'm not buying one they forgot to weld and bolt?
sorry they are over hyped for sure!! hire meth heads making 11.00 hr dont care but talk big game for sure ive had numerous issues with my 2017
Keep eye on shower door mine had issues careful closing it and opening it.
no problems so far... 3+ years now...
We are actually getting the2021gdi rk this weekend wish us luck 👍🏻👍🏻
Awesome videos! Great clarity, love the honesty and especially all the common sense thoughts. 2021 Imagine xls 23bhe is on order and my family can't wait! Thanks for the videos
Good choice!
So sad!
hate to hear this... almost 4 years now and we still love our GDRV
Thank you for the video...I have chose grand design or winnebago as my trailer to purchase.
I think you’ll be in good shape either way!
I think winnebago owns grd design
My 2022 transcend has had quite a few issues in fact I bought it brand new and I have lost count of the stupid problems and not only that General RV here I Salt Lake City Utah is a bunch of crooks from service to sales in fact I need to do a video!!!! Consider yourself lucky!!!
We’ve had 5 Grand Designs now (prototype testing) and besides a fridge in this last model no issues. 🤷🏻♂️
I hate you’re having issues… and yes dealers suck.
@@WanderingWeekends thank you
Love the video and love your candor! Too many just want to speak about negative things!
Appreciate that! Yes, unfortunately drama and negativity seem to draw the views... that’s just not our preference. If something unfortunate needs to be addressed we certainly will but generally we keep things positive. 😊
Wow! That’s a pretty impressive track record. We’ve been looking to buy a GD and this helps reassure me regarding this mfg. thanks.
They need to add an outdoor shower back by the black water flush.
I'm pretty sure there isn't a safety measure in your water tank ? If I understand you correctly you believe the water was draining into your freshwater tank which would then have an overflow and go where? thanks in advance
it has an overflow outlet
@@WanderingWeekends Like a vent maybe? I guess it drains on to the ground
Love the Changing Lanes Shirt :D
I have had no problems in a year. Now that the year is up and the warranty is over. Now I have water in my end compartment at the back of the camper. I thought it might be the hot water tank leaking. I have checked that and no leak. Do you have any suggestions why an outside compartment would be leaking?
Great question. It could be 100 different things. Have you checked the latches to see if they’re still tight? They can work loose over time. Seals all good? Keep in mind water can travel from all over.
HA I just learned how to use those door openers for the fridge on my JAYCO
Great review Cory. Yall have a very nice RV. Enjoy your day!
Southern Adventures you too Randy!
Thank you for sharing!
Of course!
Just bought a Imagine 2670MK 2019 hardly used if not used at all and the sitting area fell apart. The sided fell off and the cheap staples are all they use to attach it. CHEAP! First time we just set it up in a mobile park and side falls off. Sad!
Hate to hear this... our story is quite the opposite. Very happy.
Thanks for this. What do you use to cover the window in the bedroom door?
From a mechanics perspective, unless your willing to spend a half million or more, most of them are built in two or three days and are built cheaply do your home work and ask another of questions
Thank you for your insight sir
ok so we bought a 2021 260rd reflection roof has bubbles all over wtf!! we will see how gd handles it some bullhorn for sure no excuses roof should not have bubbles all over!
Yes, I have heard about this problem before. You have a roof where the adhesive was not properly applied. Make sure that this is taken care of ASAP.
@@tims9527 I have a claim filed but GD says uts ok so we hope the 12 year warranty will be there for us .
I'll send you my pair for the fridge. I never use them.
scott Michel I’ll pay you if they fit!
@@WanderingWeekends I'll just give them to you. Free. In fact I think I have like 4 of them. Maybe I can throw in some BBQ sauce too....lol
Thanks for keeping it real..
The amount of vibration a trailer receives during transit is equal to a 5.0 earthquake. Your gonna find loose things.
Harlemworldboy no doubt
We have the same shower door. Darn thing never goes back in.
Brian Derosett ours is stubborn sometimes but generally it’s from us not letting in correctly. When we pull it back out and make sure top and bottom are evenly retracting it does just fine. Just our experience of course.
You need to watch “rv roof install” RUclips channel. You will learn ALOT of what to expect owning this.
I used 100% silicone, others seem to like the dicor products. Thank you for the question!
We just got our first travel trailer. As far as sealant goes, are you using that Dicor stuff or something else. Just curious what people are using. I'd like to pick some up for when I need it.
TWC I used 100% silicone. Many have had good luck with Dicor too. Congrats on the rig!!
I just bought a 2022 Momentum and the Refrigerator doesn't work. My Wife's disabled and I thought that they were reputable. Sometimes I'm WRONG. I've had it a Week 👎 no frig on order yet.

you got lucky mines a lemon!!!! floors got pink stains on it from cheap vinyl flooring they used!! shower door broke and roof seam at gutter opened up after 3 years and let water in to trailer trim pieces falling off walls have to renail onto wall what a joke wall very disappointed shoulda just got a cheaper one for 10k less been better off
Hello any idea what to do if your slide out no longer works. I have 2017 reflection. It has never traveled stays at CG.
We have another pull in front of the axles for the kitchen sink gray tank ☺️
Thank you. I will check it out.

Also, we had a drip coming from the rear outdoor hose connection near the water heater.
Well that's a relief
Honest review great unit
