Storyline:
While Rusty Williams is away at college, he leaves his cousin, Shorty Williams, in charge of his large ranch. Shorty, more concerned with his prospecting ambitions, wanders into town looking for backers. At the Wagon Wheel Cafe, he encounters a couple of vagrants, Curly and Larry, who are just a step or two ahead of Sheriff Zeke, who have won some money at the roulette wheel and they immediately become prime prospects for backing Shorty's nebulous prospecting scheme. Meanwhile, June McGuire and Betty Vale, whose singing act has failed at the café, are packing for New York. Shorty, who has fallen for Betty, persuades the girls to go to the ranch. Meanwhile, back at the ranch, Rusty has returned with intentions of selling the ranch. He tells Shorty, Curly and Larry to hit the trail, and instructs his cowhands, the Hoosier Hotshots, to round up the cattle for the buyer's inspection the next morning. Shorty, Curly and Larry inadvertently (of course) make a hole in the fence and the cattle get out. The only-slightly smarter Hotshots suspect rustlers and when they come upon Sam Clemens, the prospective buyer, they hand him over to the sheriff as a rustler. They hear that Tom Trove, a Broadway producer, is in town and get him to the ranch where they plan to audition their talents. Rusty gets the more-than-miffed Clemens out of jail and they return to the ranch to find a show in progress with Trove as a disgruntled audience. Things aren't going good for anybody at the old ranch house, until Curly spills some rocks from his pocket that turn out to be that most valuable and rare mineral "Vanadanite," and the ranch is loaded with it. Clemens makes Rusty his partner in a mining venture, and the Hoosier Hotshots, with the unintentional aid (of course) of Shorty, Curly and Larry, make a hit with Trove, who signs them for his Diamond Circle in New York, and includes June and Betty.
Reviews:
"Moe Howard actually plays a non-stooge: "Shorty" Williams, a ranch foreman, but one who really wants to be a prospector.
He does a good job, too.
This movie is a must for Stooges fans, if only because it is not typical, but it is so unusual it's a must for any movie fan.
Besides, Mary Beth Hughes is in it. Someone with whom I was not familiar, Gladys Blake, but whose lovely legs make her very watchable, played her performing partner, Betty. She didn't act long, but had many gigs.
Most of the plot is to give excuses for musical numbers, and some of the numbers are pretty good, especially "Wahoo." Though Ken Trietsch was a guest on a TV show I directed, I hadn't realized the Hoosier Hotshots had been so active in movies. They actually had a lot of talent, as both musicians and actors. This film was a revelation.
Some of the alleged comedy was done poorly, and can't be called good slapstick. Probably the director should be blamed.
Still, this is a lot of fun, is a must for Stooges fans, a must for movie historians, a must for fans of Western Swing and for -- a term I think I coined -- Midwestern Swing, and a good time for anyone just looking for pleasant fun."-Written by morrisonhimself on IMDb.com

This was the first starring feature film with the zany Three Stooges. I like this film because of the songs and the trio's slapstick antics.
This is also the only Stooges feature with the Moe-Larry-Curly lineup in starring roles.
The shows with the three Howard's and Fine have always been the best to me.
The later shows with the Curly Joe I didn't care for. He wasn't a good fit at all and I can't remember the name of the guy that replaced him but he certainly fit in a whole lot better.
The Three Stooges just were not the same without either Shemp or Curly Howard and that's just my opinion.
@@anonone8954at least he was better than Joe besser good Lord he was pretty bad and it felt like he doesn't belong in the group
@@anonone8954Joe Besser.
@@anonone8954You mean TWO Howards? It was Moe and Curly.
Three Stooges are always fun to have around :D 😁 They are legends!
The Three Stooges help save the day again.
June had such a beautiful singing voice
Moe : Woman is the root of all evil
Curly: Give me some more root
😅😂
Moe without his sugar bowl haircut and a decent-sized role for Vernon Dent. Curley is slightly stroked out here but not too distractingly. Another nice print from Artflix
Really like this one.
My favorite from Stooges.
Childhood😢 rip Moe, Larry, and curly❤
always liked the three stooges
Especially with Curly in the shows.
Never seen this film before. Thanks for uploading it.
I'd never heard of it before
Wow.... Black folks sure changed the trajectory of music.🎉
Fun film. This was when Curly's health was starting to fail.
11:47-11:56 Curly's normal speaking voice.
He's basically struggling to keep the voice because he is sick
Correct. He was only weeks away from the start of some "minor" strokes but he did it to himself. @@yoshifan3077
@@yoshifan3077Actually, I’m starting to think that, even if he didn’t get sick, doing that high pitched voice for years probably did a number on his vocal cords
I have always enjoyed the 3 stooges I wish that they would air more of there shows and movies please
I bought the whole collection of shorts off Amazon few years back, was best 60 dollars I spent in a long time, was all 190 shorts plus some.
Thanks for posting this

Very odd casting for the stooges…Moe plays a completely different role separate from Curly and Larry. Curly speaks more in his normal voice. He was weeks away from the first mild stroke that was the beginning of his decline.
I think he's already declining here. His speech is thicker than usual - just a sign of the bad things to come for him.
@@liveinthepresent219at 18:35 this is the last time Curly is seen on film doing his famous shuffle
