Really like the idea of showing the replays just after the action rather than all at the end. Better for my blood pressure. Another cracking race!
I was going to say the same thing. I'm sure it's a lot more work for editing, but the just-in-time replay is great for us viewers.

Same here :) good contrast to the emotion as well. In a race sometimes everybody can be annoyed by something that looks different in a replay and after a cooldown.
BTCC is the best thing to happen to RFactor2 in a while. Picked up the whole pack and loving it. AI is actually good with it too for once.

This track has been in my head for yeaaars and I couldn't for the life of me figure out what the name was. I'm happy I now know it's this track. This was my favorite street circuit back in the day of like the WTCC game or something that I played. I believe Raceroom has this one as well, will buy it and an oldschool touring car and relive my happy days!

Nice race! That BMW top speed was mad haha, but very exciting battles to follow. I liked the commentary and seeing the incidents right after they happened as well!
Hey Dave, quick tip: if you look at your right side HUD, you will see that in the beginning of the Race (and it only happens on Race session), it goes haywire and a bunch of settings get changed. This is due to an option in Crewchief. You can disable it there, and this wacky behavior is solved! Was driving me nuts a few years ago!
what option is it in crew chief? Would love to know
@@Ripspeed007 there is an option (which from some version onwards came active as default) to not replace tires, something like this. It is a checked box. Just uncheck it.

Looked like a very good race! You did run out of your push to pass battery after 15 laps, so no wonder the car was a bit slow after that though. Just because you get 15 seconds of use every lap doesn't mean you can use it for 15 seconds every lap and still have the battery last the entire race.

A very entertaining race, a braking failure left you sixth, but there is something that I see and that I want to confirm, the speed of response of that base was decisive when it came to rectifying the trajectory, if you had not noticed everything that towards that car, you would never have been able to save it, I think it is a magnificent example of what a good synergy between software and hardware is, a good FFB Doesn't it make you faster? Maybe NO, does it make you more consistent? YES... Thanks Dave...

Good race, I had the unfortunate luck of DNF'ing in a Dave Cam vid... easy thing with P2P is once you see the blue light show up on your dash, it is available. Bring on Croft next week I say.
I think you need to select a different version of Crewchief maybe to 64bit, this stops the fuel cobblers from Jim at the race start, and might even help the other issues that you were having.

Looks like you pinched that guy in the apex. He shouldn't be throwing it up the inside like that after you caught up nearly 2 seconds in a lap and a half. You were clearly much faster. Very poor race craft from that driver. But he didn't have a car width on the apex. Contact was really weird as well.
looks like a road course version of Martinsville.
9:21 if you had your triple screen you'd feel different about your choice.
Although he did fight back, mid apex you were too tight on him and forced him wide (your front left was pushing his rear right and turning him outside)
With the tripples you wouldn't turn in so much and avoid him.
I disagree. I was opening up my steering and he should have kept it tighter.
@@davecamyt I think maybe the commenter is more saying that he doesn't think he was intentionally pushing you into the wall, but that the point of contact into the rear right was forcing the car to push wide - though I agree the other car should've kept tighter to avoid the incident in the first instance.
I've done Norisring on a few sims but RFactor2 takes forever to load on my pc so I tend not to bother with it too much.
the instant replays are much nicer, tie it into the race, instead of having them at the end when the interest for the specific incidents has died down
Whats the player base on this like? Im buying my first sim rig soon and I love BTCC but don't want to buy a dead game when I do. Cheers.
Noticed this while racing myself: firstly you blame the other guy, but when you watch replay it sometimes is just a 50/50 or racing incident - that's why i race without mic on, since i am heated person :D

Looks like there's been an exchange of ideas between Dave and Julie. Dave has passed on his ideas about racing. Julie has passed on her ideas about swearing.
On the in car dash, on the right side is where the battery percentage is. I noticed that you could have a battery with 0 charge and the P2P is still counting even though you're not getting anything. Just thought I'd point that out. Love the content though.

To keep it simple, I highly recommend you use S397s new digidash hud. Can tick it on in the settings and it gives you all the info you could ever ask for regarding your battery. Looks really nice too! Ditched the workshop hud that ive been using for YEARS for it and haven't looked back since!@@davecamyt
Black screens were resolved on my side by rolling back on display drivers until I found the version that worked.

I use a variety of dashboards on the Race Director wheel software. My Dallara LMP2 is my favourite 😁

Good old rf2. You leave it for a while without changing anything, and when you come back there's something that doesn't work.
I've ran this combo, I can't find a way around the RF2 steering rack being so slow, the amount of lock is ridiculous. I'm doing that is realistic.

It doesn't seem to me the KwikFit #16 car did anything intentional there, but instead I think it was just unfortunate general simracing collision physics. You two got too close in the apex and then tangled so your car kept turning left into his RR which made his car rotate towards right and into you. He could've been turning left all he wanted.

It seems as though the touring cars on any platform provide good racing. I have a bit of a left field question. I’ve been unable to tune the ffb on my asetek for rfactor2. It either break my wrists or is so dead as not to provide any feel. Any chance you could share your settings?
In the software or in the sim?
@@davecamyt Both, I “tweak” one then the other trying to find the sweet spot. At this point I’m down the rabbit hole without a flash light. I love my wheelbase and have it feeling great in iracing and acc, rfactor just eludes me.

The tears are pretty much just getting dragged along and not really doing much. The fronts were toasty 😁

you are not the only one having problems with rf2. I have fresh windows 11. all drivers are up to date. and everytime i select a turging car and a track the game shuts down to windows home screen. no matter what I do. so on that point rf2 really stinks
You have an AMD gpu? There are issues like you describe related to driver version. I believe you want version 22.5.1
So as Jim is here as well as iRacing I am guessing he is an add on piece of software. Could someone tell me what please?
