  • In this first video of the "Tenkara Diaries - Japan" series, I share with you a small glimpse of a trip I took with renowned tenkara angler Mr. Yuzo Sebata. Mr. Sebata is known throughout Japan for his experience with tenkara as well as foraging for wild mountain vegetables and mushrooms. He showed us how he ties his tenkara flies, how he casts with tenkara and much more. This is a very short video. There are many more tenkara stories to share with you, so stay tuned.

    Nice video,nice guy.
Tenkara was my favorite fishing when I was young,20 years ago.
I try to do it again when cherry blossm bloom this year.
I'm happy to know Mr. Sebata is still fine and cheerful.
    Thank you for your video.

Love the video. Thanks for reminding me that catching fish is the least important thing about a day of fly fishing. I hope to try Tenkara very soon. Where can I get one of Mr. Sabata's sweatshirts? I love the design!

Japanese are neat and clean in their daily life and work. He is old man, still active and looks great with traditional hat(in Vietnam, china and in my birth country Bangladesh wear that type of head gear to protect from sun and rain. Any product they make ergonomic and practical and in high quality. I myself use many Japanese made stuffs in daily life and of course fishing stuffs. Nice mountain views like our British Columbia
