Great video! My gazebo collapsed and I'm going to redo it your way. 12 x 16 might need 8x8 post though, but the concept should be the same. Thanks again!
Thank you for sharing and puttting the supply list. I kept stopping g the video, and writing all the items used down, the. I saw the list. 😁 doing this exact same one in the spring.
Looks great 👍. What type of screw heads are you using? I couldn’t quite make it out, here in Canada we’d use Robertson or torques for large fasteners like that and we don’t tend to have any bit skipping issues….
Hey hey! This looks great! I’m about looking to do one of these in my back yard. How much did this cost you all in all? Would you possibly be able to make a small breakdown of the amount of material ya ended up using? I noticed you said 8 of the 4x4’s
Hey, thanks for commenting. It costs around $7500 CAD. The list of materials is pretty long, but I’ll do my best to give you a list here. In order: 4 - 6x6 posts 4 - 6x6 beams 8 - 4x4 rafters 1 - 2x4 ridge beam 15~20 - 1x10 boards 8 - 1x4 strapping 4 - 1x6 peak soffet 4 - 1x5 peak fascia 2 - 1x10 eave soffet 2 - 1x5 eave fascia 8 - 4x4 corner supports And then the steel That’s a in general list that came off the top of my head. Hope this helps!
The battens are missing, the counter battens will stop condensation from the sheet metal and the roof boards will start to rot. There is also no membrane under the sheet metal...
You might’ve had a point, only if the building was enclosed and sealed from top to bottom. You’re wrong however, no battens means air can get through the gaps between the boards, and the steel has a foam membrane on the ends and peak that allow for airflow. If you didn’t know, airflow allows wood to dry and we have never once had a problem with rotting wood
@@RobsAmishSheds I meant the lack of vertical strips under the horizontal ones, which would allow water dripping from the sheet metal to flow down beyond the edge of the roof.
Essentially, backburning a screw has the same purpose as pre-drilling a hole to not split the lumber. Just putting the impact gun in reverse, heating up the screw through friction, then putting it in forward and driving it in
This is amazing. I’m looking to build one almost the same just a little bigger. How did you figure out the roof angles? I’m up in Canada and need to be able to carry snow load in the winter
@@RobsAmishSheds oh man! Wish you were in Edmonton then an I could just hire you for this! I need to build one that is 14’ x 16’ and a little worried the 6x6 rough cut fir won’t be strong enough to go 16’
The 16’ beam should be strong enough, but you will definitely need an extra 2 posts at the halfway point on that span. Or alternatively, you could use 8” thick beams and posts!
We'd love to have a 16x24 like that here in SW Michigan. Beautiful!
Great video Rob! Simple but well built. Can you share info on 12ft x 12ft plans?

Glad it was helpful!
Where is the supply list?
@@RobsAmishShedses supply list would be great, especially beam sizes, thanks
It’s looking good boys!
Your first attempt was a success. Gave me great ideas and a way to make a materials list. Thakns for doing the work and the video.
What was the cost of material?
Beautiful work.
Awesome!
Thank you! Cheers!
Mounted a tv in my gazebo using ZeboZAP
ZeboZAP the best gazebo tv mount ❤ recommend🎉😂
That's a helluva tape measure lol
Great build, where are you able to get those 6x6 rough sawn posts in Ontario? Those look very smooth
I’d suggest checking finding an Amish mill, there are a few in Chesley ON who should be able to fill most orders you need.
@@RobsAmishSheds Thanks 🙏
Hey awesome build what is the length of the 6x6foot beams. Also what is the distance from post to post?
Great video! What are the size of the beams? What are the size of the top beam corner cuts? Thanks.
Quality videos... looking forward to more!
Much appreciated!

@RobsAmishSheds where do you buy the steel for the roof?
Do you have an Approximate cost of the materials?
Looks amazing! What is the lenght of the timberloks?
Thank you! I believe we used 8” and 10” timberloks
Awesome thank you so much! You are very helpful! And the video is great
How do you decide how far down the suppoet beams should gobfrom the corner posts?
Are you using pine?
Quiz:
Is that a “Speed Square” or a “Framing Square”?
What species of wood is this?
Damn I was getting sick watching this video. haha I now know not to have a webcam on my hat when videoing.😊 Nice job though

Thank you sir, we’re in Canada as well. We just go with a pretty standard 4/12 or 5/12 pitch and it does the job perfectly

This video was like watching a car wreck….i couldn’t look away.
Are you able to share what something like this costs?
A gazebo this size is around $5,000 for just the structure. Delivery and installation is variable
😊
whats your lumber size?
It’s true dimensional lumber
How far can the beams span without having to add additional posts?
Regularly we would add extra posts to a building this span but design wise the owner opted out of them
its that treater wood
No, it is rough sawn pine!
woulda been more amish with hand tools lol jk, cool video 👍
Gotta find myself an Amish camera next haha
I’m glad I don’t need a calculator
You need a cameraman, a head cam doesn't cut it.
Dude that’s a shed.
Funny thing Amish people only uses a hand saw and a hammer
Sorry turned it off after you were 1/2" out, sorry but that Amish dog doesn't hunt.
faut fixer la caméra en fixe ça fait vomir
Golly, I'm seasick after trying to watch the camera work is horrible !!
Yep just like the Amish you you used wood and screws
Amish prefer wooden pens, or nails.
SARCASM!
