Dude, my thoughts exactly! I was totally in the Pro camp at first. But the Zoom just provides more creative options for the type of filming and shooting I do. Great review!

I am seriously considering upgrading my DJI Spark to the DJI Mavic 2 Zoom. I am shooting a lot of videos from the mountains and of rock climbers and I really like that I can keep a distance and just zoom in. That is amazing! However my only concern is the weight.
Another feature on the TX is the notches in the phone clamp arms so you can use your home button on the phone. Big plus!

Great tutorials, Recently I purchased Mavic 2 Zoom I did fly a few times I was very happy with it until today that I lost it, fall down from the Sky, The Drone was up 80 meters high 70 meters away from me suddenly I see the Drone falling down in two pieces was not sure what's happened but as I saw it coming down it looked like battery was detached from Drone and I looked for it couldn't find it because was behind trees and there was water, very scary and dangerous, so I went home to check online review negative comments about Mavic 2 zoom and Mavic 2 Pro people lost their drone because the battery was ejected in the air causing it to crash, then I was pretty sure that my Drone Mavic 2 Zoom the battery was ejected just like other people, of course, I was very upset that I lost about $2000 just like that but at the same time I was glad that nothing bad happened on the ground, and I always double check propellers and the battery to ensure everthing is good before the Drone goes in the air .
Sick! I wish Mavic 2 would have zoom and 1 inch sensor in one body.

That would have made sense but why do that when dji can just sell you multiple cameras! There are plenty of people with deep pockets for dji profits!
I absolutely love my Zoom. Can't compare it to the pro having never used one but for my (limited) uses it blows my mind how I'm able to pick one of these up off the shelf and go and get the insane footage the zoom captures!!

I just got the Zoom delivered - my first-ever drone; I haven’t had a chance to try it myself yet.
I had to deliberate hard a lot between that and Pro. I finally settled on Zoom because I just I can’t imagine spending that much money and being limited to a fixed 28mm. I guess that, over time, I’ll see whether I made the right decision!
I also decided to get it with the smart controller, in part so that alerts on my iPhone don’t clutter up the screen, and also because (I gather) it’s screen is bright.
You convinced me! Can't wait to play!
I have to admit I bought this drone because of your awareness to the potential of this magnificent piece of technology. I have been waiting three years for this technology to be where it is now so I think I've successfully endured the test of time to earn the right to fly this fine machine. And I have to add your crash test also told me a lot about the in durance of this drone. So I'm following you as a kindred brother to this cause, I'm looking forward to your additional statements regarding everything there is to know about the Maverick two pro.

Just started my online FAA courses which will take me at least 8 Months to complete but that’s fine because I will not be able to afford this for about a year anyway…then I am going to go into business flying for either real estate or construction sites…plenty of money to be made.
I also used to race drones so I know this will still be a learning curve but still I know this will be easy for me to learn on. 😎

this drone is one of the most advanced DJI drones out there it is not easy to crash as long as your apas and Obstacle avoidance is on
all drones can be crashed however if you are not paying attention to what you are doing
or dont know the capabilities of the device you own

Julianof Paignton don’t listen to them.Buy it.Its super easy to fly and to understand how it works.Cheap drones are also easy to crash or lose.If you want a safe drone,then buy this one,you won’t regret it! But always keep in mind that its expensive so treat it right,learn it and respect the rules,this way you’ll have good times with it for a long time.It’s a beautiful drone,I love mine.

I'm looking to purchase my first drone, having flown the Inspire 1 Pro and the Phantom 4 Pro at my work. Having watched Hollywood Camerawork's Hot Moves, I was really wanting a drone with a more telephoto lens but wasn't sure how the video quality would be. After watching this, it looks better than the Phantom 4 Pro to me, and I'm sold. Thanks!
Is mavic 2 zoom better than mavic 2 pro? And why?
Main difference is camera zoom. Pro has better image quality but no zoom.
mavic 2 is a beast drone! got the pro version myself and is super happy! dji has great support aswell as i have experienced

I think there is only one real answer to this question. Buy both. It's a hard truth but I honestly think neither is better, they are just both for different purposes. The best option would have been to make the cameras swappable. But sadly, DJI didn't do that lol. I am going to get both though. I have the pro on the way but after seeing what the zoom can do, I think it will be worth the money due to the new possibilities of the zoom function. Also, the zoom will be a nice drone for any inspection purposes I might have. Inspecting my roof on my house, for example.

was hoping that it would have a bit more of a blurry BG when zoomed in. But it just looks zoomed in and no bokeh difference. Maybe you're shooting with a smaller aperture?
Im only thinking about the zoom so I can have a blurry BG when zoomed.
I dont couldnt care less about the dolly zoom. I wanna know if the BG is blurred. But it didnt look like it

I have used the phantom from initial to 4 pro and I believe I will change to the zoom now... the cinematic options are enough for me to buy and the optics are too similar for normal people to even recognize.

Its only problem is in low light because it doesn't have a 1 inch censor like the M2P does
I've had a 28 to 84 mm full frame equivalent zoom on my Inspire for years.... Whats this crap about having to bring the drone down to change the lens on an X7.... Must not have known about the X5 apparently.

I have it for about ten days, but with automatic parameters the exposure of the videos is exaggerated and even the final quality does not seem worthy of a drone DJI. I also had Mavic Air and the videos are better on the latter, which has an automatic management of exposure far more effective. I came to think that maybe it's a defect of the camera, but it seems to me that at hardware level everything works fine. Does anyone find this defect? Maybe the DJI will improve this aspect in a next update? Thank you very much!
Im so torn. I don't know weather to buy the Air 2 or the zoom. Most features of the air2 are better, but on the zoom, you can zoom! I don't know if I would rather spend 500$ more or just zoom in in post on the air2. ugh

Great videos! I cannot decide! Biggest question is with super resolution... the zoom camera is only 12 MP but with super resolution putting it to 48 MP. Might be a dumb question, but does that mean that the zoom, when using super res, will take a bigger picture with more info than the pro with only 20 MP?! Can somebody clarify?
i couldnt decide too, i ordered the pro first but changed now to the zoom. Yes the zoom can do 48 MP pictures and the pro only 20. after watching many videos i saw that the zoom function does give way more possibilities as a 1 inch sensor. The zoom is better in my opinion

Thanks for the response. I have made a few large prints with pictures for my travels with my camera. Just trying to decide if the one inch sensor will be better. I guess I am thinking, “if the sensor on zoom is the same except for the zoom function, why would I upgrade?” I would just like to see just how clear a 48 mp photo would look vs the same photo at 20mp with the pro.

3:26 when u switch from handheld video footage to drone footage, I could not help but notice a change in color... the DJI seems to have a blue tint. Can you do a white-balance with that system?
Two years late, but watching on my color-calibrated monitor, the camera footage is the one with a warm color cast, probably a color-grading choice. If you look at the concrete, sky and foliage, they all have a brownish tinge. The Mavic 2 Zoom has the more correct color balance. Everything looks proper without a color cast. Look at the sky, the water and the concrete...the tones are right. Blessings!

Can u get battery extanchment? For better battery life. Also is there a lens that makes the zoom better cuz this thing can go high....gotta make nice shots. For the price u would think it would have thermal, exray and better zoom.. wow 75km.... Omg. Need longer lasting battery to travel.

No. However, you can do this in Head Tracking mode with the DJI Goggles series. Can you verify this. Looks like that wheel was switched to control zoom. Is that accurate?

My question too. How come the Phantom 4 Pro be updated with digital zoom? And why not do 8x digital zoom like the Autel Evo? In fact, how come every intel mode such as hyperlapse on the P4 via update?
Wouldn't digital zoom be a downgrade with that sensor size?
Mavic 1 ALREADY has digital zoom. and a dolly zoom can be easily done with video edition

For my being elucidated as to which to pick for a purchase, why not the Pro? No zoom on Hasselblad? Hmmm, yeah, as amateur zoom features looks hot for 1250. Why go pro quality photos for $1500 if I get good enough 1" quality PLUS fancy zoom features for $1250, boom, seems I answered myself, hahaha.

Great review👍🏽. One additional advantage of the zoom: caused b the flight regulations and restrictions you are able to fly in a safe area and zoom in, for me flying at land and zoom in as I would fly in the mid of the river which is forbidden in Germany.
