  • The narcissist uses on you entraining, a kind of trance. Hypnosis may be a form of extreme empathy, a suggestible state of mind or a people-pleasing experience.

My brain cells stay alive because of listening to the intense, highly intellectual theories. Just to get the concepts I have to "focus" or I could never understand your lessons. Thanks for deconstructing these patterns so that I can "try" to unlearn my behaviors. At 64, I am a borderline personality who is suffering tremendously. These teachings give me something to "hold on to!" For being a narcissist yourself, you are doing pretty well. Kudos!

I think hypnotism is based on the subject willing to be hypnotized and willing to comply with the hypnotizer and it's controlled in part by the deep values in the subject. It would be interesting to read the conclusions reached by the CIA, the Chinese, Russian and the others government agencies on hypnosis.

In the first 5 minutes, I am experiencing some epiphany/synthesis/ re-shuffling stuff going on in my head. I have to stop watching this and take a nap. Seeing my life flash before me like I just got new eyeballs. Sam, you are my favorite of everything. I’ll finish the video later. 💜

i hate the fact that my narc is a master in hypnosis and only uses it to make me forget the abuse and sexual assault she did to me as a child , then play it off like im the guilty one . Someone's gonna be miserable as hell when old age kicks in and surgery and botox stops working to keep that school girl face from melting .

Ha now this was interesting! I agree to both sides, because I know I do both. I did tons of hypnotherapy and psychedelics, sitting in meditation or kirtans for hours, doing extreme hikes, knowing how to get out of the body and enter trance or extacy with no drugs etc. and I know how to do this actively, also without any outer influence by now. If the hypnotizer or cult leader or so is weak (not asserted in his omnipotence, not believing his own story) I have pity and I please and still try to follow his lead, but I have parts of my ego that still react and I can not merge, even though I want to to some degree. I do actively surrender my will even if I perceive the hypnotizer as weak and insecure, but it does not alter my state, my brainwaves, my heartbeat. But if the hypnotizer is charismatic and powerful, I still want to please (because it brings me into oneness, into the floating sensation, the total merge) but now I actively merge. I slow down my heartbeat, I synchronize my breath and heartbeat with the other, I start feeling into his essence, his facial expression, his moves, then I slowly move out of my presence into his presence/body, I become him, I have queue words within that say: surrender,go (to myself) and things like: take me, kill me (well, my identity), let me see how you see, perceive, think and feel. often I am overloaded with information about the other, how he feels and perceives. I found all of this extremely helpful but just up to a point, in the extreme merge we can, like Peter Levine suggests, re-balance extreme trauma, because of the beauty and the comfort of the float, It definitely has tremendous healing aspects to feel safe, held, guided and loved again. but it can also be extremely dangerous. I had to learn to come back into agency and out of the merge... but I definitely experience brain synchronicity, massive empathy and as I said, my brain frequency changes, as it does when I go into a floating tank or scuba dive etc. I also have a different auditory and sometimes even visuall perception, often I see and hear from the perspective of the hypnotizer, I literally see through his eyes which is kind of fun, cuz everyone sees you different, so you see yourself anew. When I stay there too long, I forget to do basic things like drinking or sleeping, I am not anymore, I am theirs, I disappear, I am an extension of the all and feel it all and feel where the hypnotizer wants me to go. I can by now that I see how I get there, also actively stop it, here I have also an inner queue: I say to myself: I, no more us. and then I am out of the merge and back to my own perception and it feels as if I take back feeling tentacles from the hypnotizer.

This was a very interesting video! What about self hypnosis? I found out that listening to a specific session for more than three weeks straight, really helped in integrating the suggestions to my real life. I also read recently that when in hypnosis, our brain functions at theta waves. These waves are the same that a young child's brain works until the age of 6-7. This is the period when humans form the subconscious and are highly suggestible. Parental mistakes in this crucial period can lead in low self esteem and other negative beliefs and convictions (about the self) that will manifest in adult life. Therefore when an adult via hypnosis enters this state of brain function (right before REM stage), they can potentially reprogram the subconscious re-parent themselves and replace faulty perceptions coming from childhood trauma with healthier ones...
P.S. I did fall asleep a couple of times listening to your videos but I think it worked positively after all... 😄

I had an adverse reaction to exposure to group hypnosis designed for helping people over come obsessive tendencies. I felt the presenter was an ominous entity and kept giving cues or like indicating that I had time to escape the room. It was terrifying and compelling at the same time. I wanted to stay out of curiosity, but instead I opted to leave out of fear. When exiting, I looked into someone's eyes and they were like kaleidoscopes. Afterwards my mind was both numbed out and sort of filled with the presence of the people in the room. Very unnerving.

I've always wondered if a narcissistic person could be hypnotised, would they answer questions truthfully. Narcs are so dismissive of further questioning when caught in a lie, so would hypnosis remove the mask? It sounds like many keep the mask on which suggests it becomes like an attachment that covers the ability to reach the real person underneath. No practitioner would ever do it, but it certainly would be interesting to sit in a session and hand the practitioner questions to ask the subject (about things you felt you never got to the bottom of). It would also be interesting to see if any "suggestions" made during the session resulted in real change once back to reality. Just suggestions like how to behave properly and how to treat people correctly.....since narcs seem to be rewired to be horrible manipulators.

I am certified in both Ericksonian and Cal Banyan rapid induction hypnotherapy, and I was wondering if regression hypnotherapy would be helpful for Narcissistic people who have reached the mortification phase and are willing to submit themselves to a hypnotherapist's suggestions. When we do regression, usually we are looking for a specific event in the past to be altered. However, I am not sure what event we are looking for in the case of an 18-month-old child who failed the individualization phase and separation from the mother. Can anyone help me with info? Thank you!
PS: In my opinion, everyone can be hypnotized. Moreover, to a certain degree, we all are under hypnosis at all times. Hypnosis is nothing but following suggestions. We might refuse to follow a hypnotist's suggestion, but we certainly follow other orders and/or instructions. Under certain conditions, part of our mind, the "critical part", goes to sleep. Similar to the way an artist sends the left side of the brain to sleep to gain access to the right side....

I think this pandemic proved just how strong peer pressure is, where people feel more ashamed to "stand out" from the crowd by wearing a mask, than they feel worried and/or sympathetic to protect own's and/or others' health by not spreading the virus, so we have people with obvious symptoms in crowded spaces coughing/sneezing without masks. Being the sole mask wearer in office/stores/malls/indoor public spaces, I am baffled by this behaviour, but it may be that my health anxiety is simply way stronger than my social anxiety, and I suspect I suffer from both, and everyone else exhibits normal behaviour...
