There's something to be said for "binge-watching"! Even if you're already familiar with a series, it helps you get a complete overview of the characters and story arc in a relatively short time. Plus you almost always pick up on some detail(s) you missed the first/second/umpteenth time around! 😎

My favorite was "Andy On Trial." Don Knotts demonstrated not only his usual comedic brilliance, but in the conclusion of the episode displayed an ability to engage in a more serious tone.
Such a non-fitting name for this channel - 'Facts Verse'. I can see why you might skip over Clint Howard since he only appeared in a handful of episodes but omitting Betty Lynn (Thelma Lou) as 'surviving' member of the AGS is a major screw up.
The Andy Griffith show got me through many days when I was sick and had to stay home from school as a kid (1963-1966). I loved watching all the actors but especially Barney and Otis and some of their interactions.

I didn't Google the one who played the politician Howard Sprague or the cast members who played the Darlings because it wasn't that big of a deal. I loved them all. They were all important to make the show so good. But when Barney left the show it changed. It was not the same. Opie was a natural. Its still the best show on tv in my opinion.
Can't believe you left out Otis Campbell (Hal Smith) and Ellie Walker (Elinor Donahue) from this list! Elinor was actually my favorite character. Such a lovely lady with a beautiful smile. She and Griffith however were one awkward-looking couple, though. Andy was about as romantic as a wet sponge.

I believe Elinor Donahue is still living . She played Ellie, the pharmacist.
She played the oldest daughter on father knows best.
Emmitt (Paul Hartman) died in 1973, Otis (Hal Smith) died in 1994, Briscoe Darling (Denver Pyle) died in 1997, Ernest T Bass (Howard Morris) died in 2005, Gomer (Jim Nabors) died in 2017, Warren (Jack Burns) (Barney's replacement) died in 2020.
You forgot Ernest T. Bass played by Howard Morris, who also directed the Andy Griffith Show, Ernest T was my favorite character on the show.
Ernest T. redefined the term "redneck". He was so funny!
"You ain't seen the last of Ernest T. Bass!"
All of them are my favorite!!!
I loved them all. They were all important to make the show so good. But when Barney left the show it changed. It was not the same. Opie was a natural. Its still the best show on tv in my opinion.
Thanks for sharing this, Kathy!
I still watch the show and love it
Can't believe you left out Otis Campbell (Hal Smith) and Ellie Walker (Elinor Donahue) from this list! Elinor was actually my favorite character. Such a lovely lady with a beautiful smile. She and Griffith however were one awkward-looking couple, though. Andy was about as romantic as a wet sponge.
I still watch this today
Elinor Donahue who played Ellie on Andy Griffith Show is almost 84. She was on Father Knows Best and other shows.
She also guest starred on the original Star Trek.
Thanks for the update, I did not know that. I knew of some but not all!!
Thanks for watching, Kristine!
