I'm a guitar player and I find your lessons incredibly valuable, especially when targeted toward guitar players. It's put in a perspective that I can easily digest. Thanks a lot!!!
This is like unlocking a cheat code. For years Ive wondered how these jazz lines sound random and chaotic yet somehow melodic at yhe same time. Its actually not as random as it sounds. Excellent content.
While convalescing from a shattered right wrist 10/3/18. Your knowledge was a life saver. At university, the classical study of music did not expose me to the "bebop" sound. Your method of understanding the use of chromatics has changed my life. I can't thank you enough!! Have been enjoying for so long.
As a life long guitar player (50 years) I’m inspired by your approach to teaching. I’d appreciate more practical exercises on melodic uses of triads and triad pairs. Using triad pairs to create interesting melodic passages. Also using pentatonic scales with triad pairs. Thank you!
I've just bought. Great ! It seems a lot of work to practice. This is my second exercise after "the soul scale". Please, keep going that series for guitarists with pdf.
I've been following and enjoying your videos and as a guitar player it's difficult to approach the tempo of your sax examples. Having a guitarist playing in a video makes it a little less daunting of a workout. I am not a big fan of guitar tab, but I understand many rely on this and it will attract more viewers. I like to be thorough, so if I need to I'll write exercises out and find as many fingerings as possible. Great video!!! Keep them coming.... with guitar.
These concepts are brilliantly explained and executed. As a guitar player, I resonate with the guitar definitely, but the sax adds a different dimension! Please include BOTH in future uploads! Thanks for everything...
By the by, it was a treat to see a guitarist put the ideas out so well. But, like all of your material, very understandable with sax. Great to see how many guitarists have posted. A life size picture of how special the guitar is and it many capabilities.
I absolutely love your vids. They are so inspirational. As a guitar player, I can't begin to state how very grateful I am for this particular vid. Just amazing!
I really appreciate your work. For the first time I understand the approach to jazz soloing. Your explanations and examples are very clear. As a guitarist I would love more videos and PDFs like this one. Thank you for your hard work.
More guitar please ! I try to comprehend music theory and i'd like to know which of your videos to watch first to start from the basics. Your approach is so clear, it's like uncovering a magician trick whitout taking the magic from it. Your work is truelly amazing.
I'm a keyboard hack, playing more guitar (hack) these days.. and I'm really being inspired by the simple but mighty useful concepts you illustrate... but although I well understand the theory... and follow the notation easily, I just don't have the dexterity or knowledge of the notes on the fretboard (yet)... Again, some very good ideas to 'steer' the low-level improv I play. Thanms a heap for all your videos.
Hello sir, Youre videos are extremely valuable to me. Your tone of voice is especially calming and genuine and i appreciate you making your videos as carefully and imbuing it with as much accessibility as you do. Thank you!
Hello, first of all, thanks for the very instructive video. I'm trying to improve my bass skills. Many videos talk about bass, or guitar. But, when you brought us your sax or clarinet perspective it was good to give new perspectives, that is, I will try a sax exercise on the bass, and for me it is very inspiring, because it is a new way of studying bass, maybe it is already known to saxophonists, but not to a guy who studies electric bass, you know what I mean? I will try to buy some of your pdfs. And thanks again.
I think a big reason is because these shapes are not intuitive to play on the guitar at speed. There’s a lot of string crossing and stretches. That’s why it switches to the horn for the uptempo bits.
Hi fellow musicians. All the recap exercices (faster tempo) are played with the saxophone. I was wondering, does it mean that this way of playing triads at faster tempo fits more to a wind instrument than with the guitare ? What do you think?
As a guitarist, all these triad pair videos are kept in a category in my mind labeled “Why the sax player’s lines are always better than yours”. 😂 I have so much catching up to do, but that is inspiring. 🎸
Thank you for this video in guitar. My question, Are those 2,3,4 approaching notes to the triad/target notes part of the scale? or just a random note you chose that sounds good to improv?

As a guitarist I'm feeling really grateful because at last, I found an extraordinary material, guys thanks
