Great review. I just received mine from Amazon yesterday. I unboxed it before I saw this video and came upon that short piece of tubing and was not sure what it was about. Nothing in the translated manual mentioned anything about it either. I just sent a note to Artcise customer service and hopefully I will come upon the same guy you dealt with and he will similarly send me a locking plate for it. Aside from that, my impression of the tripod matches yours. Solid. Well built. Rotational interfaces are smooth and feel robust. My primary use will be for astrophotography but on occasion I may be using the low-height mode to do some macro photos. Thanks for the great review.

I find it hard to believe they would send the short centre column with no mounting plate deliberately. Perhaps they expect users to switch the plate from the main centre column? Anyway, the rep I 'chatted' with online via the Amazon listing page knew exactly what I meant and sent one promptly in the mail. Very nice tripod isn't it!

@@Perfectvirgo Yes. So far I am impressed with it. I have some heavy scope mounts and optics to mount on it so that will be an interesting test. How it behaves under a serious load.

Just ordered an Artcise , Innorel , Benro and considering looking at a Leofoto . The Artcise is well made and well reviewed . The Innorel doesn't have the same fit and finish to me and the Benro is nice but a bit heavy . I have no reservations and leaning towards the Artcise. No way would I spend four times as much on a Really Right Stuff that is made up of the same 27 parts or so of the same material . Nice but wayyyy overpriced ! Great review and follow up regarding the issue . Thanks .

Thanks. I tried the Innorel but was sent one where the pan was frozen solid. That put me off and I ordered the Artcise instead. I'm happy with it. Good luck.

Hello sir, can you update your experience with this tripod? How smoot it is and how strong it is? Can this tripod used for landscape? Is this tripod stable?

The head is very smooth in operation and the carbon fibre legs are rock solid.
