PS Remote Play on Android TV™ OS devices offers you more ways to play your favorite PS5® and PS4™ games. Stream your PS5 and PS4 games from your PlayStation® console in one room to a compatible TV in a different room in your house, or to any TV connected to Chromecast with Google TV™, even when someone else is using the TV your console is connected to.
Download the PS Remote Play app on a BRAVIA XR A95L model TV, or a Chromecast with Google TV device, and play with a DualSense™ or DUALSHOCK®4 wireless controller.

A PS5 or PS4 console is required to stream your compatible games to another device. Screen content simulated. PS Remote Play on Android TV is downloadable on devices running Android TV OS 12 or later. PS Remote Play requires broadband internet with at least 5Mbps. For a better PS Remote Play experience, a high-speed connection of at least 15Mbps is recommended. Increased distance between the PS5 or PS4 console and the remote TV may increase latency. Chromecast with Google TV requires a TV with an HDMI port, a Wi-Fi network, a Google Account, a nearby electrical outlet, and a compatible mobile device. 🥾🥾 If you need some more practice boot licking I got you. Sony is the king of making solutions for things that weren't an issue. Now stop wasting peoples time and make us a handheld like we keep asking for. Moving your ps5 is at most 3 cords if you have an ethernet cable in the other room you're going to. Even with that benefit of the doubt most people are keeping their console in one room. I thought the ps portal was restarted and only goofy goobers would entertain it, but this. This takes the cake of restart loops
I can’t even use this SONY app on my SONY TV. It needs Android 12 while all your 2023 Sony TV models (except A95L) come with Android 10…
Buy a Chromecast. Much simpler.
Buy a Chromecast and unlock yourself from whatever TV you have. But I'd advise you to wait for Google's unannounced model.

I know people are saying to buy a Chromecast but seriously why put such a cheap processor in the TV that it cant even be expected to have feature parity even a year down the line??!
@@KyuubiWindscar4 I dont believe the processor is the issue. It's just not uncommon for manufacturers to update older models in a timely manner. They want to push product and worry about feature parity later.

Hi maybe you should also support webOS so that people with LG TVs have a remote play app as well. I would guess the LG C series are the most popular OLED among PS5 owners.

all my three fully up to date Chromecast (with Google TV) devices are labeled as incompatible following the link you have on your productpage. You need to install the "for TV" version of the app
Why still no TVOS Remote Play app for AppleTV? I think it's great that it now runs on Android, the adaptation to AppleTV shouldn't be a problem, as it already runs on the iPhone and could also be possible via AirPlay. The only annoyance is the latency via AirPlay.

I can have my PS5 in Rest Mode in New York City and go to Japan with my Chromecast and play my PS5 games from across the world.

Stuff we need in future PlayStation updates
1. Being able to separate party chat audio from recordings when sharing them
2. Being able to use voice keyboard inside of games
3. Fix an annoying bug that suspends your game when trying to save a clip with a full storage, thus deleting your clip
4. Being able to record System UI
5. Explore tab in all regions
6. This is more of a visual thing but it would be cool to make the default selection in the quick menu to be on the home button rather than being on the far left
7. I'm not a storage expert but if it's possible to make video clips and screenshots to save on your m.2 SSD that would be helpful!
8. Letting more 3rd party services the ability to create media apps for the PlayStation
9. PlayStation Stars being in all regions
10. Being able to see game update history
11. Backing up save files using a usb on PS5 and not being limited to cloud storage only
12. PS4 players should be able to see your share screen
13. Ability to buy avatars on ps5 like you used to do on ps4
These were some of the most important things that the current state for the PS5 software need after owning the console since launch day.

Chiaki is on every device like psvita but the power of the psvita is weak for ps5 remote play which use h265

Can't figure it out. Why does it need two different apps? I don't see the chrome icon on the ps remote app and i don't see the remote app or whatever it is when opening Google TV app. Chromecast is working.

@@MarinealverYou are both correct and incorrect at the same time. You do need a PSN account, but you do not need any of the PS Plus tiers.

It would be easier,simpler and cheaper to just use an hdmi cable, but sure, it SHOULD work. I already did once.

Where were you guys for the PS Vita, according to Sony it didn’t sell to well & will never ever go back to the handheld system you are referring to, but instead they’ll rather make the Portal.
@@T-M-N-T Sony themselves didn't support PS Vita, so it became a platform for more niche games. A system with zero mainstream titles cannot gain mainstream success. In terms of hardware capability PS Vita is much better than Nintendo DS, but DS still outsold it because it had more games. If Sony released a new handheld console with a lineup of recognizable launch titles, it would be a huge success, especially if they kept supporting the system instead of forgetting about it.

I just hope they implement the PS5 controller adaptive triggers on remote play at some point, because that's one thing that keeps me away from playing my PS5 games via remote play on my Chromecast 4K with Google TV sometimes, because i miss that immersive gameplay that comes with the PS5 controller adaptive triggers, C'mon Sony make it happen already.
They have it I used it last night on pc you have to download the firmware for the remote to get everything to work

The remote is Bluetooth pair it with your Bluetooth TV or device to play via ps remote play

Yes and no. Yes I think that Xbox will be available on every platform, including Smart TVs. No, I think that someone other than Microsoft would make the Xbox handheld. I believe there will be no special need for one.

Not sure if I would trust it for competitive play, but for single player games this seems fair.
You shouldn't even trust it for action games, like shooters or stuff that contains QTE or reflexes-based. Forget about ladder online.
Even with my PS5 hardwired in to router with 500mbs up and down speeds. The app can’t keep the games running at 1080 30fps.

you def need your ps5 wired up, i felt like the wifi had too much latency. mind you i get 1gbps down
I tried it out lastnight on both wireless and wired and did great on both. Then again I have a $1,000 router with 10gbps internet and 10gig spf+ ports on my router connected to my fiber internet
And as always, ethernet will be faster and more stable than wifi. Nothing new there.

If both devices are hardwired to the network, I bet latency could be insanely low.
That's how I play on remote play, with both my PS5 and my Chromecast with Google TV 4K with wired network and my Chromecast is hooked to my BenQ Projector with 120 inch screen, no latency at all.

No, it's been around for quite some time but you require a TV with Android OS12. The problem is that only one of Sony's Bravia 2023 line-up runs on OS12, while the rest are still stuck on OS10... (Edit: most of those Chromecasts that come with a remote do support it as well)
I just sideloaded the remote play app on my TV. It works fine with no extras needed.

Because it's such a niche thing to use. It probably doesn't work as well as just moving the Playstation.
PlayStation did this and took it away and is now bringing it back.

@janky477 They took that feature away from Android TV standalone for a while when they had put it on Samsung TVs with PlayStation 4. Along with the ability to just use the PSNow app on Samsung TVs and not needing a console.
Same as they did with the remote play for phones got shuffled around before they fully made it available to Android and iOS devices.

Unfortunately no only 720p but it doesn't look all that bad and is super smooth you can see tons of compression because of it being only 720p though

own a PS4, I have not played it nor gotten on the PSN for over a year. I bought Helldivers 2 for PC. I wont be playing the game until you remove your CONSOLE requirement for playing a PC game. I will never buy another frelling Sony product, from my Home Theatre Receiver, MP3 player, and upgrading to a PS5. Duck off
