- From episode 2 'The Rooster Prince' where drifter Lorne Malvo manipulates another intimidated local, this time to retrieve a package addressed to Duluth without ID.
Season 1, directed by Adam Bernstein, original TV air date April 2014, also stars Martin Freeman as Lester Nygaard & Oliver Platt as Stavros Milos. Based on Coen brothers' acclaimed 1996 movie. Кино
"Highly irregular is the time I found a human foot on a toaster oven. This is just odd". Perfect combination of line and performer.
JordiTV79 in some episodes after that, there was a bunch of times people said ‘irregular’. There was also a lot of references to things people said in the show, like when Lorne Malvo tells the story about the bear getting out of a bear trap and then Lester catches him using a bear trap
I found a box of human toes beside the road. I had to call the toe truck...

Post office guy: I'll need to see some ID
Malvo: No
Imagine lorne malvo going to starbucks
@@pablocolon9425 hahahaha
@@409raul imagine him trying to order
Understandable have a nice day
@@pablocolon9425 He would stare at the employee until they would just write "the guy with the fringe" on the cup.
Malvo is what it’s like trying to talk to Rockstar support minus the psycho comment .
Didn’t expect you here.
But all of the packages are addressed to Duluth how was the mail guy able to find the right one so fast???@@mrminkman952
Billy Bob Thornton said during an interview with Norm Macdonald that this character was one of his top 3 favorite to play.
Actually it’s the best without any doubt
Top three huh?
What's the other one besides Karl Childers?
RIP to a legend.
He is the only actor that can play Malvo.
It takes extremely good acting to be so intimidating despite that hairdo.
billy bob thornton even mentioned that he thought the hair made him look more innocent lol
didn't work tbh
Anton chigurh
Nate diaz I also think he was supposed to have an Anton Chigur vibe and maybe since the Coens were fans of The Three Stooges his hair was sort of like Moe's.

Great scene; shows the contrast of ordinary citizen to dark psychopath
More like a contrast between an assertive person and wimp.
More like a contrast between an assertive person and wimp.
@@faikahmed7970 good and bad
@@faikahmed7970 so edgy, lol, weakling.
I'd say he is more of a sociopath. Doesn't care about anything nor anyone. But he doesn't just kill for fun, evey kill has a reason
I love Lorne Malvo this character so much .
If you met a psychopath in real life, you would fall out of love soon enough.
@@deanpd3402 You are right.
@@deanpd3402 Nope
He'll probably fool him
I love how when he enters, his footsteps are taken to the beat of the score.
Very similar, and in the vest way possible, to the "call it" scene in No Country for Old Men
same directors, Coen brothers.
Abdelrahman Ashraf the Coen brothers directed the 1996 movie, not this show.
@@uome20bukz
yea my bad. They are pretty much identical tho
@@uome20bukz while the don't direct the show they're influence its bursting at the seems in every scene!
Haven’t thought about it, it really feels like the same dynamic
"No, highly irregular is when I found a human foot in a toaster oven. This is just ooooodd." Love it
1:34 That stare sends shivers down my spine. Brilliant acting and cinematography.
One of my favorite characters on TV. He really gave off the 'agent of chaos' vibe in the first few episodes when he's just messing with people, like the motel owner and the kid.
one of the best scenes in fargo. very good actors
Every season of Fargo and the movie there’s this type of a scene where an “outsider” is using A to Z logic with a “local” who is using A to B logic and it’s always hilarious
This just reminded me to watch Season 1 again (for the 3rd time)
At this point, it has become pretty a tradition for me to rewatch it every winter.
Hahahaha i feel you bro im going to watch it 3rd time as well, the problem is i always end up watching seasons 2&3 also hahaha im not even bothered
This scene reminds of “CALL IT” scene from no country for old men.
"No! Highly irregular is the time I found a human foot in a toaster oven. This is just odd"
it's the same scene with worse writing
@@vaahtobileet Lol, idiot here calling Fargo "worse writing", ok there boy.
@@flybeep1661 worse don't mean bad, calm down there kiddo.
@@flybeep1661please do not call me an idiot, FRIENDO!

So badass how when he walks in his footsteps match the music
USPS - "What"
Malvo - "You heard me"
So simple, but man it's so effective. Been using it ever since!
I imagine this is how Billy Bob goes about his day in the real world.
My God. This is the best show ever. The music as he walks towards the window. Masterpiece.
No breaking bad is the best 👌
MALVO:"(sigh)..call it."
-POSTMAN: "what do i stand to lose?"
MALVO:"..everything".
Short on the long sides, long on the short sides. Like something a child would do to a doll
Just rewatched season 1. Awesome, even better than I remembered!
y only season one? are the others bad?
@@skilosalsa828 not at all. I think one is the best, 2 right behind it!
@@dustinfenimore3077 same
His steps in perfect sync with the offbeats, giving the impression of blending in and being separate at the same time (at least that’s my take from that)
Lovely attention to detail complements the awesome writing of the show and makes it that much better.
I just noticed that the noises from the background increase as malvo gets more and more impatient with the mail guy. Makes Malvo more intimidating
This has to be the best tv show villian tbh
am i gonna have to come back there myself?
@The Darkness Came We got a Badass over here!
Billy bob too me of all those shows I watch played the most interesting hitman of any show
1:25 I love how still he looked this entire bit. Adds to the spookiness
The look of a killer.
I live in Duluth. I’m shit scared now 😱
Your name's Duluth?
lol
Well Why not? You could be Duluth D Duluth of Duluth St.
thanks for uploading
pleasure
Anyone who thinks this show had bad writing is insane and does not understand the true art of film making. This entire show was spectacular in my opinion. It had the perfect mix of comedy, action and drama
it has aliens lmao
@@chrisdawson1776 and?

Even when he is being dramatic it comes out funny, Billy Bob is the best.
Billy Bob Thornton for Post Master General.
Billy Bob is amazing actor!!!!
One GREAT show. Remember when he told the cop in a traffic stop if he really wanted to walk down that dark road in this life..
👍😊👍
"You have a blessed day."
My favorite season! Love Billy Bob!
Have a blessed day. 😊
"Highly irregular is the time I found a human foot in a toaster oven. This is just odd" will never not be f***ing hilarious.
THAT'S DOC MITCHELL IN THE FLESH!
(Edit: Turns out the actor for Doc Mitchell from Fallout: New Vegas is a different actor [also in Fargo though!], Michael Hogan. I swear though this guy in the post office looks just like and sounds just like Doc Mitchell)
"You shouldn't have gone through my stuff doc"
Man I love this show so much
Love all the little Coen Bros references.
“Missed a spot” comes from Raising Arizona
The post office guy looks deepfaked.
I’m a minister apparently
You Have a blessed day...
As the minister he uses this guys voice, rewind the video
Post office guy is just thinking "Allright! Whatever I can do to get you the fuck out of here"
Yep
Sometimes the best policy is the customer is always right. The guy instinctively knew not to annoy this customer.
No highly irregular is when I found a human foot in a toaster oven, this is just odd. I fucking love that line!
McDonalds: What would you like to order Sir?
Lorne Malvo: Why?
McDonalds: Well...so we can progress this fast food customer transaction?
Persuasion: 11/10
Honestly, what others seem to find intimidating just comes across to me as someone who has no interpersonal skills attempting to communicate. Malvo really doesn't seem to grasp how to interact with other humans.
Honestly, what you'd find not intimidating would end up getting you killed, then. Others, i.e., these characters, are picking up on the fact that Malvo is a highly capable psychopath who is willing to do violence to them. And that should be intimidating to any normal person.
I can see what you mean, but I think it is the intensity on top of that which sells it. He is calm and displays none of the usual mannerisms or social skills you would expect, which is just unusual. This then leads to you being not quite sure what he is going to do which generates an uneasy feeling, and the simultaneously very calm and very very intense nature of the interaction turns the unease into fear. You are not sure what he is going to do, but he seems to be motivated enough to do whatever pops into his head, regardless of social norms.
He literally played this character as a supernatural force of evil, there is a bountiful amount of intimidation in his character lmao.
If he had no interpersonal skills then how would he have been able to befriend that dentist after the time skip and get engaged?
Malvo certainly wasn't socially awkward. He just loved fucking with random people.
He doesn't need to try that much with some guy at post office
You have a blessed day lol
He’s the most believable actor I’ve ever seen
Anton Chigurh would have respected this guy for staying true to his code and refusing to had over any package like how the hotel clerk in the movie kept refusing to share information because it was against policy, eventually he would have left the guy. With Malvo it’s “give me the package or I’ll kill you” and eventually Malvo would’ve just killed him if he refusing like how he got irritated at the van guy for refusing to give him the walkie talkies unless he made a friend.
That's how you deal with a threshold guardian.
Malvo definitely has the terrifying presence perk.
Billy Bob is the best in everything. Even Armageddon
Have a blessed day!!!!!
a little bit of an anton chigur at the gas station vibe.
1:49 why is that so funny XD😆😅🤣
"have a blessing day" LOL
have a blessed day
He may intimidate Fargo but I feel like NYC or Chicago hed get beat to death
No
Billy Bob Thornton was great in this sbow
I felt this. I have the same argument every time I have to pick up parcels - it starts with no photographic ID, no parcel and ends with me being handed my parcel because they can't confiscate my property regardless of their policies.
"No, highly irregular is when I found a human foot in a toaster oven. This is just odd."
2:54 Missed a spot.
Raising Arizona
Jeez how do I get people to do whatever I want by just giving them a cold dead stare
It s not just the stare. It s the intention behind it 😉
Wanting to manipulate people in order to get them to do what you want is sad. Don't worry yourself too much about getting what you want in this world. It'll all come to an end soon enough.
And a blessed day to you
Madremía qué crack es Lorne
Billy Bob Thornton dose a really good evil psychopath that's calm and collective.
Lorne Malvo does intimidation honour.
I'm gonna walk into my local post office and do exactly what Malvo did.
Did you do it?
The irony of thinking postal workers aren’t every bit as unhinged.
Despite being incorrectly nominated as a lead actor at the Emmys just to arbitrarily even out the categories, Billy Bob killed it in this role (pun intended)! But I wonder what this would have been like if James Gandolfini (who would have had to get his weight down to 240 for the role) had been alive to accept it. But after he died of a heart attack, they could have recast this role with anyone. They just happened to choose Billy Bob a month or two later.
This is so similar to Anton Chigurh minus the coin toss scene lol.
What kind of donuts and scones are you going to get
Are they doing this all over?
I thought that I was dead or something?
Guy JYST SAVED HIS LIFE 🤣
No, “highly irregular” is the time I found a human foot in a toaster oven. This is just odd.
Sigma rule number 4712
His footsteps aren't to "the beat," they hit the upbeat, because his very being is against the grain.
this is like Oblivion NPC level acting
Has a no country for Old men vibe to it. I like it.
Ok... great scene, but how the postman knew exactly which package is for Malvo? All package is for Duluth and this was his only info.
Malvo is the Joker. A pure agent of chaos.😈
Лучший сериал
The music is similar to that of Taxi Driver 1976
I can't decide if Malvo looks more like Spock or Lloyd Christmas.
Me at the post office.
lol I wish I could be that intimidating and make people do things.
Who is the scarier villain, Malvo or Chugur ( No Country for Old Men)? I would be fascinated and scared of Malvo but would be terrified of Chugur.
Why is Patton Oswalt,on the cover of that book??
Видел сериал Очень понравилось!
This is among my favourite characters of all time. The people who wrote him must have been ROFLing the whole time. Everything is perfect about him, especially his hair. 🤣
Billy done his best to make Malvo an Alpha wolf. so damn Scary!!!
Very similar to coin toss scene at the gas station from no country for old men. Anton chigurh also intidates the gas station owner for making small talk.
the post guy looks like sean connery
Javier Bordem would have murdered this scene
Anton Chigurg's cousin? Friendo?

God I wish I could still be this way with idiots. But thanks to tech, everything is on camera now.
