    Exactly, they are both great .With a well placed shot, they both do the job I've shot .22 all my life ,I gave up shooting for 6 years as a powder burner ,but now I have started again at mid 50s. I have gone for a .177 and that just because of its flatter trajectory and my age lol my choice of pellet was either wasps or air arms field deablo, but mostly the air arms ,they have a soft skirt that expands into the rifling better ,great vid m8

    Nice summary mate
    But there are heavier pellets available in both 22 and 177 as example I run 16.02 JSB monsters in my pathfinder and it packs as much punch as a 22 on rat ranges I agree that hades are good I run them on my Rm8 great on rats but I also Run dead center 18 gr and range master sovereign 18gr in my Ata airborne again both great on rats
    Getting permission is difficult but I wouldn’t say your accent has anything to do with it I wrote over 200 letters before I landed my rat permission on a massive dairy farm, but also I landed another permission by driving around local farms and asking a top tip here is dress like a county type so farmers cap,check shirt. Gillette windbreaker, chinos, etc cost me around 100 quid to get decked out another tip I got some business cards printed so if the farmer said no I politely left my card as you never know anyway really enjoy your vids mate an honest approach
    Cheers
    Andy

      Hi thanks for your information about the pellets very helpful. Indeed it is very difficult to obtain permission indeed belive me I’ve done all that wearing the county attire had cards and flyers done etc always been so polite and respectful on my approach believe me there is a stereo type with the scouse accent once your out of town in the country around west Lancashire Cheshire etc a lot of people shut the door in my face and it does become soul destroying but I get it. Living in the city where very limited to permissions etc but it is what it is just have to stick to my back garden! Oh I even joined BASC as well and that didn’t help they just take your money lol.

    Great video, nice to hear straight talking at last,as a newby to air guns when you talk about close and long distance,where does one stop and the other start ,thank you.

    • @Ratsinthereticles
      @Ratsinthereticles  5 месяцев назад +1

      Hi thanks for watching distances are very subjective and depends on the equipment, surroundings and of course the skill of the shooter. If your sub 12 like myself around 30/40 yds close is anything from 5ths up wards just remember you have hold over and under and bare in my wind etc. the more you practice the better you will get. Also a good quality air rifle & pellet are v important. Hope this helps. Have a nice day mate.
      Denny.

    Hades .22 at 32.4ftb are devastating and accurate out of my modified FX wildcat mk11. And yes I hold an FAC license 👍

    • @Ratsinthereticles
      @Ratsinthereticles  3 месяца назад +1

      Yes I’m sure they are and do what they’re designed to do but at sub 12 although the pellets are incredibly accurate they don’t do what they would do at higher power.

    The barracuda match. 177 are 10.65G, if my memory serves which sometimes it doesn't 😂

      They’re a bit heavy for a sub 12 in my opinion with a 177 that heavy your loosing a lot of speed and that kind of defeats the object in sub 12 I think. 9.56 in my Revere and bros vixen can stack.

      On the same subject I do have several .177 spring guns ,I have always preferred the .22 and as I'm getting older I now also find the .177 a bit fiddly but that is my sausage fingers and my eyes are not what they were 😢
