This was THE song of my primary school leavers disco when I was eleven. I was on crutches due to a broken ankle, and I didn't care, I was still dancing to this!
Inspired choice of a cover. I was six when Tommy Roe's original recording was a hit so I knew the song pretty well. Vic and the Wonder Stuff did a good job upping the energy and groove, even throwing another modulation in at the end. Using a bunch of Whirlpool washers in place of a stack of amps is one of the best visual puns in any music video.
I was brought up hearing this version of the song on the radio and everywhere it was blasting out. And I'm ashamed I never knew it was Vic and Bob till now!!! What makes it worse is that I remember as a kid a crazy guy in an outlandish outfit and it was Vic all this time!!! Lol
I was a big fan of Vic and Bob in my twenties, also loved The Wonderstuff. I went to Phoenix festival and went to watch The Wonderstuff and who should walk on stage as a guest star to sing Dizzy. You guessed it. Made my day 🙂
I was 11 when this came out and I loved it as it reminded me of a guy I fancied at the time!😍 I knew it was a cover but this was better imo. I also remember they did this around the time they starting to make a name for themselves in comedy this was a perfect veachel for them and Vic actually has a decent voice!.
Our women do make us spin all the time and have our heads spinning but we love them and would do anything for them because we do need them and cherish them.
Dizzy my head is spinning and you girl making it spin like a whirlpool it never ends vic reeves and Bob Mortimer and the wonder stuff now that's what I call music 90s love this song love Bob Mortimer and vic Reeves and the wonder stuff like them and there songs hant heard this in ages this song message me if you like the song anyone please thank you
I am coming back to this after hearing that this song has more key changes than any other song. I bought the album when it came out, it's a great CD! And only now I notice Bob Mortimer is in this video as well!
This song came up as a question on Pointless the other day and I was surprised the contestant was able answer as he didn't look old enough to know the song
wonderstuff perform at minsthorpe same as House of Love , Spirat Carpets!! 🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶 If not spell right you know i when to minsthorpe!!! much Love 🌈💕💙💙 💓💓 ❤️💙 💙❤️
This hit from Vic Reeves and the Wonder Stuff was the 443rd #1 song of the Rock Era in the United Kingdom. We prepare to say goodbye to 1991 and prepare to welcome in 1992. What will the music scene be like in the upcoming year? Stay tuned.
Yeh he was mate. Sadly, Martin Gilks - the Wonderstuff's drummer is no longer with us. He passed away about 15 years ago after being involved in a fatal motorbike accident 😢 He was the second ex Wonderstuff members to leave us far far too soon. The original bass player, Rob "the bass thing" Jones died long before Martin Gilks did. He left the band not long after the Hup album back in about 1988-89. Jones left the band and moved to the US, but sadly his problems with substance abuse followed him to America, and within a few years of moving to the US he had died from a heroin overdose 😒
Poor old Bob doesn't get a lot to do here, does he? Some tambourine shakin' and a little bit of scuttling through Vic's legs. Hold tight, the good times are a-comin'.
Bob Mortimer dancing like a champion, wish we could have seen more of him.
Should've send this band with a song called Dizzy to Eurovision
Came here because of Greg and taskmaster season 15 ❤

It's a cover. The original version is by Tommy Roe
All the washing machines instead of an amplifier stack was such an inspired visual pun on the song's title
Thanks for pointing that out
I always thought that they were advertising Whirlpool washing machines.

Ooh, Bob Mortimer's got some rhythm. I like that.
Heard our Eurovision entry this year was called dizzy, and I'd rather it was this.
So would I.
I love that tune I can't stop singing it to myself

1991 was a excellent year for music and film's
I agree and I’m also a 1991 baby
I remember dancing to this at college! That was a great performance!
I was 3 when this came out and one of my earliest memories was being scared of the key change at the end of the song.
End of the song?
every time i get stuck awake all night and end up in that tooo tired to sleep hysteria i get this song stuck in my head.
No bad thing to have this in your head.
The phrase "Wrong in't head" springs to mind xxx
One of the best covers ever
Awe Jesus don’t take the jam out of my days when I grew up in 1991 ✊✊

Wow! Can't say which is better, this or the original.
Well done👍
This so reminds me of my childhood! 🤗
Fcuking Love Vic & Bob
Three years latter, sitting in Sunny Malaysia and this is still bringing me great joy
Like for Dave chisnall
This song came up as a question on Pointless the other day and I was surprised the contestant was able answer as he didn't look old enough to know the song

It's CHIZZY Dave Chisnall
Gotta love chizzy
Just beat mvg 5 0
Looks like a tough gig. That audience ... they're not having it. Too concerned with waiting for the Bingo to start.
I wouldn't recommend the fish, either.
Gold
This song was also number one in Australia, even though they never had a show shown in Australia
Got as high as number 3.
Thankyou, Val my special friend hugsxxx
Great song favourite of mine

Vic strangely reminding me of Austin Powers 😂 love it!❤

Since when did Alan Partridge have a musical career....!
This song really smells like teen spirit.
Chizzy👍
It always confuses me that Vic sang this, when he's just a comedian who yells, "UVAVUUUU!!" 😂
Dave Chisnall's walk on song
Never knew why Vic went and opened one washing machine at 1:13. hahaha
This so reminds me of my childhood! 🤗
hope the wonder stuff made tons of money from this cos they lost all credibility doing it.
Weird thing is they didn't
Yeah , but their wardrobe
The beginning was based on the cult 1960s TV show Adam Adamant.
Thats it dont take the jam outta my donut mate.
Dizzy the Egg was a great game.
Bob on the tambourine
I only realised the other day that Vic sang this song.
He sang it on Jools Holland Hootenanny recently.
A young Vic Reeves, so was i haha.
Is Bob Mortimer playing an tammerial
How the hell does time go so fast
I've just read the description. U2 knocked off Bryan Adams' _Everything I do, I do it For You,_ which was number 1 for sixteen consecutive weeks.
They just dont make cocaine like they used to.
Washing machines instead of Marshall amps......yes
*fan girl for Bob*
Coogan and Mortimer!
Who else is here because of hootenanny?
Vic should be DR WHO
This song and video makes me dizzy!!!
Spinnnnninnnnng
All those washing machines and yet no tie-in endorsement from Currys :-D
Dave chisnall owns this song
Poor old Bob doesn't get a lot to do here, does he? Some tambourine shakin' and a little bit of scuttling through Vic's legs. Hold tight, the good times are a-comin'.
Chizzy the goat

Same Song
Drums are good on this.
was this song not made for red nose day?
No Lars, its wasn't.
Vic looks really young here.. compared to 2017
yup i remember this song at number 1 it was yonks a go, great cover though deserved number 1
That's literally how time works..
The lead singer of The Wonder Stuff reminds me of a young Paul Whitehouse 😂😂
Thought this too!
I thought he looks exactly like Damian Cockburn (Steve Coogan) in Tropic Thunder.
Oh yeah this song is good
Bob the builder The Album
CHIZZY!!
