  • "They're talking military and attack satellites. Russia is even talking about putting a nuclear weapon in space."
    The next frontier of warfare is space and Russia is leading the race to be the first nation to have a nuclear arsenal in the cosmos, says defence editor Robert Fox and foreign affairs expert Tim Marshall.

      Not only that but the captions for the two guests are the wrong way round - the first person is Robert Fox (defence editor), the second is Tim Marshall (author).

    There's an 80s Anime that shows 80s WW3 orbital warfare, with laser-plattforms manned by astronauts, which is kinda funny.
    Besides of that, "007: Moonraker" shows how Space Marines fight in space, which is kinda funny, but also scary.

    Our government has no idea how people are suffering economically in the world today well, Inflation or no inflation, my finances remain safe, because I earn close to millions of dollars monthly trading cryptocurrencies.

      This 2024 I no longer depend on the government or salary to survive. "Of course, trading is a safer way to earn more money now because I have earned up to 352,000 thousand US dollars recently. Work will only pay your bills, business will make you earn." You are rich, but trade makes and keeps you rich, the future is inevitable...

      I don't really blame people who panic. Lack of information can be a big hurdle. I've been making more than $21k passively by just going into crypto investment , and I don't have to do much work. Inflation or no inflation, my finances remain secure. So I really don't blame people who panic

    Here's the non political problem with orbiting nuclear weapons. How do you dispose of them after they time out and become non-functional? Russia has nothing like a space shuttle that can rendezvous with the munition pick it up, and take it back home for refurbishment or disposal. Orbiting a nuclear weapon absent this capability means surrendering the munition for random reentry and all that implies.

      These ttthings would be in very predictable orbits. They would almost certainly be in the wrong place, like the opposite side of the world, when Putin wished tto fire them. Furthermore they would have limited targeting ability when reentering the atmosphere. Think about things like spacecraft launching to and returning from the ISS. They have to wait until the ground track is just right.They would just be sitting ducks.

    4:49 - the presenter has to consider for a moment: 'is that really how bad it has got - "strike command in High Wycombe"? Is that not even too much for Times Radio, where we gladly repeat the same intro 3 times? Should I not risk a self-deprecatory smirk at how very low things have got? No - backwards and downwards. Why not in fact repeat three times what I have just heard?'

    How complex/simple is it to mechanically articulate Nuclear weapons [with Uranium and Plutonium weighted density] to point and fire [at an enemy's military assets - on earth and in space] from a space deployed satellite? Electromagnetic Pulse Detonated/Laser Weapons [as speculated in the above] seem a lot more feasible. Articulating a Laser from a satellite seems feasible, but with how much destructive power and for how long? Whatever energy said weapon has to use destructively, cannot be greater than the satellite's energy system. So say the satellite switches from mission geo-stationary orbit to 1-off weapon, and then becomes useless [due to using all its energy], can such weaponised satellites be produced and deployed in bulk effectively enough to be more than some James Bond Movie storyline?

    • @rogerphelps9939
      @rogerphelps9939 3 часа назад

      Any directed energy weapon in space would not be effective against ground targets because of atmospheric dispersion, limited time over the target and a whole host of other considerattions. It won;t happen.

    And what is space command UK going to do?!!! Don't you need NASA like launch capabilities to do something about it
