I voluntarily chose to stop eating Octopus & Cuttlefish due to their intelligence & I humbly suggest all us marine lovers do the same. The fact that they are the smartest invertebrates should be treasured. Thank you for your wonderful channel. It is a great educational resource about our beautiful wet planet & its great for kids!
To me that would be like cannibalism. They are amazing creatures. I think if they lived longer they would be many times smarter than us.
I got to the same conclusion since yesterday when I started to do some research over octopus animals.
Humans are significantly more intelligent than any lifeform on earth, which is why we have the cognition to supposedly take care of others, form technological advancement and space travel, the ability to understand the cosmos, cultures, art, sciences, self-expression, fashion, create businesses, program software, etc., something animals don't have. But we have absolutely no qualms in murdering each other, even the little/unborn ones. The irony and apathy of mankind towards itself is so depressing.
Animals know by instinct that they are predators for some and prey for others - everything they do is for survival of their species alone. An octopus doesn't feel remorse when it eats its prey...neither do sharks, dolphins, and eels, when they hunt and eat octopuses/octopi.
But ofcourse to each his own.
@@MariaIsabel_Fufuria That's right, and animals kill mostly when they are hungry or have to compete against a rival when it comes to mating. All that is driven by instinct.
Only humans kill others or animals for fun, "sports" or profit. Hunters hang trophies of their "victims" upon walls. Men torture other animals for entertaining. The military abused dolphins to search for sea mines and little monkeys for land mines. The list goes on.
I'm really not a PETA guy or something but the abuse of animals throughout history just because we can is another aspect we shouldn't forget. And I don't mean a horse doing farm work in ancient times. I think more of the conditions for animals in circus shows, theme parks, some older zoos, tamed wild animals in private possession a.s.o. All of this gets better as we overcome our former habits and care more for animals. But we really cannot be proud of ourselves if we think of what we have done in the past.
The most horrific thing for me ist the illegal hunting of elephants to get their ivory teeth. One of the most precious animals of today's world is endangered of becoming extinct just because some asian guys still think they can get a hard-on from taking the pulverised ivory.
Thank you didn’t know that was a thing shouldn’t even be an option eat peanut butter toast
I lost it when Sy started spraying you guys with water, cheeky lil thing isn't she? lol
My favorite ocean creature.
yeah, but why in a prison :(
Awesome video
Well information. Good show. Well show.
I love how the guy keeps holding Sy's hand preciously

Awesome show!
Once again, an excellent video!
Two videos from you back to back on giant octopus, and a constant smile from me. Next life, I want a life in the blue world just like yours Jonathan. In a near future, maybe we can hope to be equipped with gills. They're so alien and so gorgeous at the same time.
It's great!
omg that must be so cool a Pacific octopus crawling up your arm
Therefor Respect the Octopus. Such an endearing , super intelligent creature.
This is awesome
I love your videos Jonathan!

“It’s over octo-kin, I have the high ground”
Funny, we watched Revenge of the Sith last night for our May the 4th movie!
BlueWorldTV I didn’t watch any movies because I was watching you
They are so smart and curious
I'm so glad to find this docu! I have read about Sy and Lucy in the wonderfull book "Rendevous with an Octopus"- and now I can see them, it's like seeing an old friend on television! 🙃🐙
That's gotta be the most excited intro guy I've ever heard
He's really into Octopus fights lol
Plot twist. The smaller octopus attempting to take the rock are just playing a game with their dad
Jonathan Bird flying underwater
So cool sir😊🖤
LOL 11:40 I lost it when Cathrine started doing tickling motions to the male when he was messing with Johnathans light.
Watching you get sprayed by Sy never gets old
After the cameras leave the two Octopi give each other a high 8 and say "another great show for the cameras"
This is a great video. I love all of them, they remind me of a Sunday evening at my grandmothers and watching "Wild Kingdom" and every so often they would do a diving video.. I was glued to the Color TV when those came on.
Marlin Perkins and Jim Fowler!
Before I watch this, Thank you for another cool and LONG videos 😍.
I recently discovered this program and it's wonderful! Now I'm a fan. Thanks for showing all this magnificent marine world
Welcome!
I could watch octopuses all day. ...All wiggly n squiggly.
I love ur videos
nothing feels better than starting the day with blueworld video !
Damn that octopus must’ve really liked his rock! 😂😂😂
I like the fact that there's a fierce fight going on between two Giant Pacific Octopus and that Sea Cucumber right there at 16:03 is just chillin' 😂👌
Your so awesome 🤗
Nice video. That commentating during the octopus fight was impressive.
The enclosure for the octopus’s seems small compared to their size when they swim. They usually have the ocean to swim in please give them bigger enclosures ✌🏾🌍💗🌸🙏🏾
ive been whaching u ever since i was 5, now im 10
14:49 "A Sea Cucumber 😄A Dungenous Crab 😲 A Shrimp 😡"
Fajna zabawa z octopusem ;-) lubię ośmiornice za ich inteligencję.
I’ve always think a hilarious name for an octopus would be Houdini because they are escape artist
What an amazing creature. ❤❤
Great video. Love the music.
I love his programs...his personality is so refreshing and educational and all the information he teaches makes me so happy to watch...he us the very best!!!!!!
Thanks!!
Love them
The tank design atthe Seattle aquarium looks fantastic
If you ever get a chance to visit, it's well worth the price of admission. If you're there at GPO feeding time, a staffer will often climb into the tank and sit up on the rock, using a pole to hand small bits of food to the octopuses while telling the crowd gathered around the base of the tank (with young children sitting on the carpet up front and center) all about them. There's also an open-top shallow tide pool where you can reach in and touch some of the creatures living there, which is really cool.
I never became bored.
this is good
excellent....again is worth the premium
cool octopus
Happy new year to all of you at the Blue World. May God continue to bless through all your challenges. it's always a treat to see the way these magnificent animals can camouflage themselves right before your eyes. Another great video and good information.
The king always wins.
Patrick & Noel Dela Cruz you got that right
The Deep: ''Heavy breathing...''
Aaawwww ❤ it’s soooo lovely to see this intelligent creature de mare.
the best
I hope they upgraded that exhibit. I think those octopi need more space. Maybe it's just me.
sy the octopous looks strong!
I find octopus so incredibly interesting! Creepy but beautiful at the same time. What I don't like though is why her tank is so small 🥺 as a GIANT octopus, you'd think the tank would be bigger.
it woulb be better without tank... the wild ocean..
"Is she doing that on purpose?" *flat voice* "Yes."
Love this channel and show it has really influenced me to want to become a marine biologist. It is AWESOME.
Where are you working now?
Love the video
Your enthusiasm is really lovely. Also, your editor does a great job putting together footage. Thank you for this channel - it makes this fan of marine biology happy :)
Great video!
I'm 74 - just learning about Octopuses. Better late than never.
Thanks !
😱 cool very cool
As a boy i remember following Octopus while snorkelling in the Mediterranean. The locals used to catch and eat them so i always kept it quiet if i saw one and told nobody.
I love Octopuses 🐙
Octopus are a amazing creatures of the sea 🐙😃 so very smart
Yes they are!
I love them octopus ❤😃👍
that fight was more exciting than WWE.
How do you not have more subscribers! This is excellent quality video. Love it!
I wonder what the thinking is behind the water squirting...it's not defensive otherwise she wouldn't be coming up to them.
I'm twelve years old and I'm about to get my open water certification!
Did you get it when you were 12?
Now you're 14 I guess
@@alpharaptorjp3134 I'm 15 now haha
@@crumb8369 yes I did!
@@alexandrabanach2780 wha? Same
Wow! What an amazing animal!
Really an epic fight ! Thank you Jonathan !
Sometimes we get lucky. Filming that octopus interaction was just plain luck. We have showed that sequence to people who dive out there all the time and they never saw anything like it.
So much in this vid!!! Suckered & squirted, feeding time, even seeing a friend of sharky!!! Then, of course, there are the octopods!!!
No inkie inks makes Tiny Rogerts a sad fellow
Very good video. Thank you
Those 2 octopus: Are you not entertained??
WhooAah! Awesome!
Hi there! Jonathan Bird!
Hello there!
Playing with Sy was like fighting with kraken.
The Seattle aquarium looked absolutely stunning! I just have to visit it sometime!
Jonathan: How do i taste i took a shower?
Sy the octupus: U TASTE HORRIBLE
Well information. Good show. Well information.
i love this channel
The suckers and arms are autonomous , each sucker moves , tastes and grabs food itself without the central brain needed . Its why you see them always searching if you look at the suckers and arms waving .
Amazing!!!
Congrats on an amazing video!
Thanks so much for this video your all videos very very inspiring to me
As much as how adorable those octopuses are, I've seen the movie LIFE so... I ain't letting more than one tentacle to touch my arm
Dibah Kasim why?
hello have a nice day if you are watching. very good
I just wanted to say. Ever since I saw the Georgia Aquarium video, I have been inspired to make my dream a reality. Thanks to you, I get to swim with the whale sharks Georgia Aquarium. Thank you Jonathan. You are truly my favorite RUclips channel. Thank you so much. Your amazing!
Thanks for watching!
Ohhh my gosh I didn't think you would see this!
I’ve been to that aquarium. There was a sign by the octopus tank that said, “no flash photography.” Of course, people weren’t paying attention, and the octopus wouldn’t come out of its den. My friends were getting anxious to move on to the next exhibit. Having been a fan of the octopus as long as I remember, I told them I was not leaving until I saw an octopus. They left. Everyone left. I was standing there alone when I saw tentacle after tentacle reach out from within the den and feel around before it emerged completely. It was great! I think we shared a moment.
Reminds me of dinos but in are time lol
16:02 there’s a sea cucumber watching the octopus fight
*Good vid!*
I love your videos
Epic and cool

SERIOUSLY? Fiting over a ROCK? HAHAHAHAHA!
Jonathan Bird, I am so glad to be invited to your world!

Soon I'll be able to fulfill my dreams and study oceanic creatures personally. The octopus is my all time favorite sea creature, just not sure why I have such a strong connection to it. I love your work, been watching ever since I saw the Giant Cuttlefish episode
You and I both, have no idea why I have always been attracted to these incredible beings on our Big Blue Planet!! Maybe we were both once an octopus. Hope I was a male. Females have drawn the short straw.
did you make it?
