  • One particular bird with a melodic song is known for singing extremely early in the morning, in the United States: The American Robin. Along with this bird, there are a few other species that might be waking up before you do.

In my neighborhood- it’s either some auto enthusiast with straight pipes or a gun toting rascal that rips off a few rounds.
But seriously - we either have the mourning dove or the mocking bird.
I find birds to be very soothing and enjoyable.

For me, it’s the northern cardinals that wake me up. I live in Florida and we only get robins here during the winter, so I don’t have the pleasure of hearing them too often. I also get Carolina wrens, northern mockingbirds, and mourning doves visiting my backyard daily, and it’s a beautiful combination of songs to start the morning with.☺

When I was a kid I used to go birding in the areas around my mother's trailer part in Florida when I would visit her during the winter. One bird. that would always sing early in the morning or at dusk was the Chuck Wills Widow. I would go out looking for them and one time briefly saw one fly in front of me. It just like a big brown speckled bird. A lot of times they are very bat like when hunting insects or so I've heard. There was one time when I recorded a Whip Poor Will singing outside my dad's window early in the morning. Then I heard it's "Pink! Pink" call note after singing for a couple minutes. I have yet to spot a Whip Poor Will. You really gotta know what you are looking for with them.

Both are awesome birds! I’ve heard stories of them being backyard birds near the area I live in, but sadly you have to travel further to hear them now.

I hear many of the birds mentioned including the Great Horned Owl. There is a N. Cardinal that sings down my chimney in the morning and evening. We have a lot of mourning doves too. My favorite owl is the Barred Owl. Sometimes I hear them in around 3 am with their distinct "Who cooks for you?" call. I love it!

Young man, wish I could double like your channel. We have a nest, and sadly one of the few birds I can easily identify are robins. I discovered the nest has two babies. I believe I’ve seen dad roosting them based on pics of males vs females too. I have to water my tomato plant right under nest, and parent will fly to ground close to me, start talking to me as if telling me to go away.

@@BadgerlandBirding how USA has state parks, Canada has provincial parks. I believe they are nesting in Rondeau Provincial Park, which is not far from me, and Rondeau has 336 species of birds so far. I am not entirely sure if so, but I see one fly into an abandoned pony barn there. Assuming they have a nest in there. I seen them there last year so probably.

I work nights, so if anything I'm the one waking the birds. I walk my dogs around 3-5AM on my off days, and will confirm that the local mockingbirds are usually warming up around that time. And yes, the robins and wrens join in by the time the sun starts coming up. Whip-poor-wills, of course, carry on all night through the summer. I hear great horned or barred owls occasionally, but not as often as I'd like.

Definitely a ton of Northern Cardinals and Mourning Doves in my yard, there are an absolute ton of them in this area, hehe. And I got eyes on our Barred Owls!! There really are two!!! Makes me super happy to see them now that I've been hearing them every night for weeks. I've yet to get back out to the small lake on the north side of town, but when I do, I'm gonna hope that I hear the owl there... I'm pretty sure it was a Great Horned even though they're apparently rare here.
Weirdly I haven't seen our Mockingbird friends much yet this year, but there's a veritable gang of Gray Catbirds that just showed up over the weekend and they are picking fights with everybody, haha!

In Puerto Rico we get woken up by rooster and at night, all night lol its the native very small frog coqui which sings that at night supposedly they only live in Puerto Rico. Scientist introduced them to different places to see if they in fact only live in Puerto Rico and turns out its true. Nowhere did they live long enough except for Hawaii where its said that thats the only other place where the frpd almost thrived however eventually rhey slowly disappeared
