The amazing thing about Taylor is that she can sing the same song in so many different ways. She has even talked about this in interviews. She always does her song writing in a stripped down version with either just the guitar or piano and then builds the song from there for stage/performances, however she can always go back to the strip down version and make it sound just as great. She does this pretty often. A lot of her fans love just her on the guitar or piano.
I love Dom's swiftie journey!!! The fact that he didn't like taylor that much before and now here he is with a friendship bracelet and singing one of her songs. I just love it. This is the example that you can't hate what you don't really know.
if I'm not mistaken, this version was recorder in summer of 2019, right after she got the news about her masters, and her mother was battling cancer. holy ground has very upbeat melody, but this version makes clear the sadness of the lyrics, and taylor sounds very vulnerable because of what she was facing, so it's a beautiful presentation.
💖💖 Braun bought Big Machine in the summer 2019, about a year after Taylor left. Lover dropped at the end of August; they had their fight about her singing her own songs, and using older music in her documentary through the fall. Big Machine blinked. She did the Tiny Desk in September, then the Live Lounge, then the City of Lover (Paris) as promotions; but the pandemic stopped the tour before it started. Which is sad, but also wonderful, because it got her working with Aaron Dessner. She hasn't slowed down since.
Man, her live on piano is so good! This BBC radio live lounge full show featured a number of songs. I think London boy, the archer, I can’t stop loving you (a Phil Collins coverI, and holy ground.! They all sound amazing- great reaction!
It's so funny to hear you make comments now about various albums like "it's in Red?!". Did you ever think you'd know Taylor's different albums, their styles and what each represented? 😂😂
Taylor just slowed the tempo down, and used the sort of production she used for her Lover album --- she does that a lot when she decides to do acoustic versions or solo versions. This Live Lounge also included Lover, You Need To Calm Down, London Boy, and an amazing cover of Phil Collins' Can't Stop Loving You. It was quite different if you saw the Red Tour version, or the performance at the F1 Races in Texas (Houston?) in 2016; both faster, harder drums and guitars, and strong belts. It is Track 11 on Red (TV), too. All good.
I’m echoing a lot of people here but it’s just true. Sometimes her stuff gets ‘over produced’ - that’s how I feel about the Lover album. Cornelia Street is unrecognizable if you heard the live version in Paris first… that and Death By a 1000 cuts are wonderful performances, live and simplified. (You reacted to both already and agreed.) I love your reactions, this has been such a fun journey watching you grow to respect her and enjoy her music.
I have "tonight I'm gonna dance" on my arm, and people always ask about it. I tell them the chorus lyrics, and they usually half smile with a nod and say, "I know that feeling." This song is absolutely not a "hit", but oh my god the lyrics hit so hard.
I love this performance, but I love the Formula 1 even more, it has more edge to it and that growl at "the story's got dust on every page" is just so good
I love that I'm sitting here listening to you singing Vigilante Shit, I would actually pay for a full version of you singing it 😂🫶 Love watching your Swiftie journey 🥰
Marcelle, as a relatively new Swiftie, I take what you say about our girl, very seriously. Thank you. Oh yes, That Singer, I subscribe and ❤ ur reactions to Taylor. 🌷
What is the name of the podcast with the guys? This was so sad. She was going through so much with her mom. Her heart was breaking. When she plays the piano slowly, she’s hurting about something. The pain comes right through her fingers to the piano. Beautiful but haunting. She really captured her feelings here.
Oh Dang, ok before I watch, I am scared because this is from the Red Album, younger Taylor, however because it's the Live Lounge, I am hopeful you will appreciate the performance and vocals🙏🤣
I don't think you liked the original. Taylor's background singers are gorgeous, but they don't seem to get much attention. I often wonder if they and the band members get fans that recognize them when they are in their personal everyday life.
I love how a vigilant shit serenade has basically became part of the intro
Lol😂 i noticed that too

Her stripped down & live performances always get me. Chills. That’s when her vocals shine & each performance has different texture & seasoning.
the grasp of the part where she sings "and i guess we fell apart in a usual way and the stories got dust on every page.." has for us swifties 🤝🏻

This song isn’t really sad, it’s more about acceptance I thought?
@@robertellis1009 looking back on it after the storm is over and remembering the good things. Sort of like Stat e of Grace, imo.
I might be alone in this….but I LOVEEE her London Boy performance from this same show.
i love it too!!
she is so cute in this performance ❤

Agreed I love whenever she does the BBC Lounge! Even her 1989 era so good!
I've been waiting for him to get to this medley of songs for a while. He needs to do London Boy for sure
I loved her cover of Phil Collins “can’t stop loving you”! Highly recommend
It's so funny to hear you make comments now about various albums like "it's in Red?!". Did you ever think you'd know Taylor's different albums, their styles and what each represented? 😂😂
That made me so happy 😂 Isn't a beautiful journey to watch 🥰🫶

Marcelle, as a relatively new Swiftie, I take what you say about our girl, very seriously. Thank you.
Oh yes, That Singer, I subscribe and ❤ ur reactions to Taylor. 🌷
Never heard this version before
Nice!
After today’s show….you neeeeeeeeed to see her performance of Who’s Afraid of Little Old Me!!!!
You’re right - the original is super upbeat. I adore both versions. ♥️ Ha - oops - commented before the end of the video.
Oh I am so glad you reacted to this one. The original is faster lol. Yay glad you liked this version.

Omg you're gonna be so shocked when you watch Miss Americana, it hits hard 😔
I think you are thinking of her performance of False God on the Tonight Show with the saxophonist.

You look so much better without a hat.
I don't think you liked the original. Taylor's background singers are gorgeous, but they don't seem to get much attention. I often wonder if they and the band members get fans that recognize them when they are in their personal everyday life.

No.
She's proof that hard work and a great marketing team can make nearly anyone famous... musicly and vocally she's
average at best.
