What is drifting?
Drifting is when the rear wheels spins fast than your front wheel which makes you slide around. Drifting is performed without using the front brake.

Something I learned awhile ago, but don't follow much anymore is that step 1 is don't give a shit about your bike. If you do, get a different one or learn to embrace the bike "bruises" as character.

😎👍 with softer rear suspension (almost stock) and better rear tyre you can have more traction. So you can lean more and go bigger and faster.
loose suspensions is better then tighter for drifting?
GutsRage depends if you want a loose or tight drift set up. Loose suspension for a tight set up and tight suspension for a loose set up. Effects how much grip you have vs how fast it breaks grip initially
I'd rather go smaller and slower tho 😂
Don't forget one thing: point the front wheel in the direction you want to go. Applies to drifting and dirt riding. You can almost totally lose the rear but if the front is pointed where you want to go then the rear will eventually recover.
i think this is kind of a misnomer. you point the wheel where you want the car to begin to orient towards, but not at all the direction you want to go ultimately. if you want to sustain a leftward drift, you should point to the right slightly to keep it from angling further left, despite ultimately wanting to go left. you point the wheel in the direction you want the car to face, versus its current attitude, NOT the direction you want to travel in.

Loosing your Fear and tryin in the rain arethe most important to me. And not chopping the throttle... I just got back from trying for the forst time and this helped a ton. I first got scared of the slide and backed out of the trottle causing my warm rear to grip instantly and try and flunk me over the high side. Then i just keppt on the throttle and managed to get some decent 2nd gear donuts goin, thanks alot bro 👍 (wr450f carbed supermoto)

I once found myself drifting a 1981 (I think it was an 81) in a gravel parking lot. Feet up full lock. I found the rhythm and just kept going. It was only supposed to be a test ride after some carb work.
The owner of the bike was standing in my circle cheering me on😆
Now that I think about it. Ive drifted a bunch of my bikes at one time or another. Usually a spur of the moment kinda thing. In the rain, forest service roads or whatever.
While taking a short cut through the woods on a logging road.
I was drifting my Honda RC30. Once I realized exactly what I was doing. I stopped 😳

@@funserious2632 Pretty sure you gotta push that rear brake for avoid looping.. just be wary of braking fade if you use it too much so do small burst and not long periods of time if you don't have a very over the top stunt bike set up with multiple calipers, rear handbrake, good quality cable lines, etc... you risking a lot doing it non stop.

I guess you cán sit there, just makes balancing more difficult as you need more power now to keep your wheel spinning (more pressure on it). But you sit more easily. I don’t dare to try it. Plus my bike was stolen, so hey.

Practising in the rain is great advice. It slows down the speeds required and everything else slides nicely if you get it wrong. My mates and I learnt to drift cars as teenagers on wet days in shopping center car parks on Sundays. Great fun and only a few popped tyres from kerb kisses. Dirt bikes taught me the bike side of sideways. It seems there was no shame in a battle scarred dirt bike! Great to see full PPE being used even at these low speeds. Well done!

Do you know about the CBS Braking system they brought into the 125er Supermoto´s from Beta ??
It means that when you brake on your back tire it breaks the front tire the same power. pretty shitty system for learning how to drift etc. but I would like to know an other way how to maybe take pressure of the back tire so you can just give it a little of gas so it drops out to. Please show us other ways how to maybe drift without braking the back tire.

I‘d want to but it wont work, because that‘s the only way they get the bike street legal is that it doesnt have abs so they built an undisable cbs system into it. So you can‘t turn it off because then the bike wouldn‘t be street legal

I dont get why people sit so far back... rule number one for supermoto riding is sitting as far in front as possible. That way the bike is more nimble, you dont make powerwheelies all the time and you can get more pressure on the front tire when braking and also have lighter rear wheel control.
When people sit so far in the back i can tell either he is going to do a wheelie or he doesnt know how to ride
