    I have been dreaming with exactly that drum set. Where and how did you find it? All the drum set I have found on sale, do not have those kind of holders from the kick drum, which are the ones that bonzo used in 1969.

    • @BONHAMOLOGY
      @BONHAMOLOGY  4 года назад +3

      I bought the bass drum , tom and 18 together. There was a different mount on the kick, much lower, which I removed. I found a Ludwig rail mount and installed it myself later. The 16 I also found about 4 months after I got the other 3 pieces. Thermogloss kits , especially a 26 are very hard to find .

  • @ToddTheJoker
    @ToddTheJoker 4 года назад +1

    Great stuff! yeah it is hard doing a shuffle off the rim on a tom..not much bounce unless you can accurately hit with the tip every time. I used to play in country bands back in the 90's and I played my fair share of shuffles.I love that kit George.

    Hey Mr. Mayor!! Is that a Speed King you’re using? I seem to remember that you were fond of a CAMCO pedal, almost from the same era. How do you like the feel and response of the Squeak King in comparison? Another Great video. Thanks so much for the lessons. I set my IPAD up pretty much as you have, and follow along. They’ve really helped with my feel and dynamics ! Cheers, Mayor!!

    You’re awesome bro. I’ve tried to learn more Bonham groves by watching you. One day can you do a video on your ergonomics. Like I put my right crash more to the left Covering the ride. Since we never play the right side of the ride, it allows the right crash to be more in front of you. Why do you put yours so far the the right?

    • @BONHAMOLOGY
      @BONHAMOLOGY  4 года назад +1

      I don't really know, I just set up the way it feels natural to me. I like to have the edge a little on the flat side , not angled too much, so that I have good contact on the crash, so it's basically set pretty much like Bonham...I suppose I was trying to emulate him as a teenager and I got used to it. Sometimes I will move the cymbal a little closer over the ride but the reach really isn't much at all our of the way as it is.

    • @Henry-uv9xu
      @Henry-uv9xu 4 года назад

      Once you get good enough you can play any drum set that’s close enough. Not saying I’m there yet...

    • @lukemorton1965
      @lukemorton1965 4 года назад

      Ok cool. I guess my OSD is just obsessed with ergonomics. I wish one day you or Terry would talk about why Bonham set up the set the way he did.

    I'm just starting out and i'm wondering can i remove all of my snare wires. I hate that sound. I don't wanna sound like a marching drummer if you know what I mean. What would you recommend?

    • @JugaJuga14
      @JugaJuga14 4 года назад

      You can’t remove all the snares otherwise your snare drum will turn into tom. Instead, try loosing the snares and tightening them back up until you like how it sounds. Also look up tuning videos to help you get the sound you’re after.
