NO QUARTER - LIVE / DRUM PLAY ALONG
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 27 фев 2021
- Here is the version of No Quarter from the original soundtrack (LP version) to The Song Remains The Same. I did this song a while back when I first started the channel. I decided to post a new cover of it because someone I know is going to record the guitar solo, and he asked me for it as a backing track. This is pretty much what Bonzo played, and I think it's a fantastic example of the musicality he had in his interplay with a soloist. He changes up grooves and dynamics, and really compliments everything Page did in this brilliant guitar solo. One of my all time favorite moments from Zep.

As always I am blown away. The ghost notes on the bass, I never realized Bonzos soft touch. I have been playing it wrong. Please keep the video's going, I always learn something watching you play. And those cymbals, amazing!
Iam pleased and love this tune!!! Fresh and busy with all of the many time changes transitions smooth as butter!!! THANKS for sharing your talents!!! These songs that you come up with are awesome and a breath of fresh air and you play them KICK BUTT!!! AMAZINGLY and FLAWLESS!!! KICK'N BUTT AND TALKING NAMES!!! THANKS BROTHER DRUMMER!!!
I’ve been listening to this song for 45 years, until recently, I never knew he was playing a giant beat ride on this tour, after watching your videos I have seen the light and I understand now what he was using on all the different albums over all those years!!
It's amazing how Bonham plays tight with Jones and accents everything Page is doing as he builds the guitar solo. It's amazing how intuitive he was and he always had that swing groove goin' on. He's totally into it. There's nothing like it. There was many live musical highlights during the bands performances throughout the years and this is one of them for sure.
You are illustrating an epic tale with those Legacy Ludwig's... I could listen to that all day long!
Thanks !!
I've done air guitar to this song so many times that I've lost count. The instrumental at the middle is Bonham, JPJ and Page at their absolute best.
Agreed 👍🏻💯
Hi George I love ❤️ this song!!! It is 1 of my fav's!!! And you play it well!!! It's worth it to learn this song!!! Shine on BROTHER DRUMMER😊 EVERY TIME I WATCH you play I learn something valuable and new 😊
This is a freakin' masterclass on how to play No Quarter in the School of Bonham! Just great George, and I was glad to be the 100th like of the video. Amazing dynamics, from the quiet ghost notes to the thunderous crashes. Such a highlight of what a genius Bonzo was. The kit also sounds epic George, cheers!
Thank you, Dave! 🙏🏼
Bonham is one of the few drummers who played off the guitarist far more than the bass player, and that's one of the many reasons I love his playing so much.
👍🏻
Thank You George👍
Once Again Just Brilliant..😁👏👏👍👍
Your version of no quarter is outstanding..subltle agressive and powerful all in one.
Thanks!
My god I thought I knew no quarter live Maddison square garden . Visually its all we have really, plus a few other concerts, Jason Bonham plays all the intricate pieces from those shows I. LOVE THAT... I tried to make my own video “studio version,” the problem is I gotta put the cue back in the rack now , that was unbelievable . What a brain you have to remember those parts like that. All the accents and changes, ghost notes dynamics and his feel. Bass drum to hand coordination and obviously the sound too the list goes on.., those drums sound great.what happens when you cover other bands do you buy another kit,,😀😀🤣 I’m glad someone gets it , my wife certainly doesn’t 😉
I don't need to finish the video before I click the like button, I've been here before, I know it's awesome. Sounds so good! 😎
Wow I can't believe how accurate that sounds.
Awesome, George. After listening to this epic version a few thousand times (Jimmy's finest solo ever, IMHO), now I can finally see how Bonzo made the magic happen. THANK YOU!
Thanks!
Very nice and not the butchered version that Page put together on the latest TSRTS release. I dont know why he did that?
Undeniable.
Astonishing work - absolutely inspiring; thanks for this. This version of No Quarter is probably my favourite Led Zeppelin recording, Most impressive.
No Quarter 1977 mi favorita...
This is from 1973, TSRTS Madison Square Garden concert.
Bow down to the king🙏
Simply amazing,George ❤️
Thank you, Thomas
Sounds fantastic the only thing missing is the brute force thunder touch BASH!
My older brothers (3) all were my music books and teachers, told me way back when I was a wee little lass. When all your mates including yourself are as high as a giraffes azz...this is the go to track. LOL Ty for sharing George, been nice watching and listening to you. Many blessings to you and yours friend. Be well and safe on your path. (And as well to all those here). . Toodlepip 👋
Thanks! I love that expression. 😄
Amazing ! Sic sound on all the drums and cymbals. Thank you for teaching me how to play it.
What a sound !
Great playing as always! Love that version and the sound of the crashes especially.
Yes, me too! They are glorious!
@@BONHAMOLOGY hey, im sorry to ask you on this forum but I was thinking of getting the canopus bat muffler for my 402. Does yours work as it should? Also man the tone sounds so nice on that kit!
Nice sound and Player
Brilliant. The new setup sounds out of this world, George. When I can I pick up the Thermogloss kit?
@George Michael III 😆
@George Michael III there's gonna be a lot of bloodshed if George ever sells those hahahahaha

Those ludwigs sound fantasmagorical👍😎
I listen to the 1976 NQ vinyl version from the 1973 MSG concert all the time in my studio, it is my favorite version, and you absolutely nailed it George, sounds great!!
Wow! What a sound. Kit sounds better than ever. I love that groove. It’s mesmeric. Could listen all day 👌👏
Beautiful sounds
Drums sound awesome! That snare, killing!
GEORGE! I apologize again 🙈 Hey, I think there MUST BE “A Thunder of Drums” MOVIE! You should either play JB or dub in your playing! I actually think that actor Milo Ventimiglia would make a perfect JB. THIS GENERATION IS READY FIR SOME INSPIRATION!
I'm available! 😄
You are incredible sir! Keep on jamming!
Another highlight of my weekend. Thanks man
Badass Groove
Let’s fucking go dude this just fired me up
🙌🏼👍🏻
Loved it
DUDE,YOU KILLED IT!!!! GREAT JOB, TERRY!!!! THANK YOU!!!!
I'm George , but Thanks! 😁
@@BONHAMOLOGY OMG! I am so sorry, George! 😞 🙈
Best version of No Quarter and, as usual, perfect job, George.
I’m just noticing the new snare head. I can definitely tell the difference from the old head. The old head was totally RAH, with this harmonic on the rimshots. This new head feels like less ring and overtones. Am I missing something? Lol. Huge and powerful nonetheless. As always, incredible play, great tones all around. I’m never disappointed.
I agree don't hear the overtones much. Put on a new Emperor head. Maybe should have gone with a thinner head like an Ambassador?
I noticed too but still sounds amazing
@@lundsean75 The old head was the same, a Vintage Emperor....keep in mind it was very worn, the coating was quite gone. This head is brand new and the coating will absorb some overtones. The more it's played , the more open it should sound. Also, I tightened it up a bit for this song so that also can reduce the harmonics.
Perfect, as usual. Will we get the privilege to see the full PFOZ do this one? Live version, please!
At some point I'm sure
Siiick, again
Just phenomenal ... you make that kit sing !
Thank you very much!
incredible
Top effort George!
Delicious
So bad ass
The studio version is my favorite Zeppelin song, hands down. The drum sound on that tune is to die for, and the parts he came up with are very unique.
Oh yeah, have you heard the outtakes? He plays some really inventive fills on those takes.
A+
Interesting, some bass notes sound like ghosties.... nuanced. Way better than I play it . Well done George !! And thank you
Thanks, as usual, Bonzo with the subtle bass drum work.
Absolutely awesome, do you have any in my time of dying covers?
Yes, search for them in the bar under my channel. There are a couple. Also did one with People's Front Of Zeppelin on that channel. Thank you!
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
sorry but the vintage kit was saund better. but I loved your playing. anyway. by the way which cimble are you use on this truck?
They're all vintage Paiste , Giant Beat 24 ride, 18 and 20 2002 crashes, 15 inch 2002 Sound Edge hats
Kicked today’s ass George!
Thanks Spencer!
Hi
How many times must you have listened to this to nail the subtle timing changes? Nice job!
I used to listen to this album like crazy all through high school, and many many times since! 😁
This kit sounds much better than the thermogloss kit. Imho
Nice drumming as always. The sounds are great here too. Did you change anything about your recording setup, or is it just the drum kit making it sound different? New compressor plugin?
Nothing different really, a slight change on the compression, but it's the same plugin. I use Audacity....I only add a like EQ, comp, and reverb.
@@BONHAMOLOGY right on...slight change in compression kinda makes sense. Kit sounds great, nice work!
Hey George. Do you prefer the rag tom on a snare stand or on the bass drum mount?
I prefer it on the bass drum mount. I think it resonates better
Heahhh
I'd pay a lot to have my 26 sound near this. If tuned up it just bounces all over the place or it has to be basically unturned to get anything usable.
George where can I find a good Ludwig drumset?
George, I can hear why you never use your Thermogloss anymore. Ring out the old, ring in the new.
Toujours autant de plaisir à regarder vos vidéos, c est votre nouvelle Ludwig, je suppose
I would love to see heartbraker and whole lotta love from the soundtrack its not on the orngal one
I did them a couple years ago. They're in the 1973 Playlist.
The drums sound great...but the cymbals..damn
first one !
🙌🏼
FEEL. it's there. rt on. jp
