Made this today using your other video where you mention how to find chunk borders for bedrock. With that said, i agree with everyone else who is mentioning that you should preface the build by mentioning how it needs to be fully built within chunk borders. Easy build to follow, though!
Have you had any issues with the kelp disappearing
@@skylergunn2485 you mean like the main kelp you plant in the farm? Sometimes, yeah. It mostly happens when I leave the farm on and leave the chunk or happen to exit the game.
I’m not sure what a chunk border is
Brilliant, another great farm. Its been on less than a minute and already a stack of bonemeal, which is going straight into my seapickle farm! Thanks for the easy tutorial. Made on PS5
i play on nintendo
This is awesome! Just a couple suggestions, you should say to build it in one chunk at the beginning of the video, not the end. Also it would be cool if you could include the total dimensions of space we will need to build your farms at the beginning of the videos. Many of us are building inside our bases and want to know if these builds will fit our space. Thanks for the tutorial!
Maybe watch the whole video before you start?
@@Redtornado6 I absolutely do before I even place a block. Just would be cool if those things were included at the beginning of the video. That's all. Just a suggestion friend!
Absolutely agree with this. Would be better to measure the space so we can imply the farms to our bases and have a better understanding on how big it would be
@@Sl8rboi41honestly have no idea what the other guy was talking about lol
@@Redtornado6 and some follow along as they go? maybe use your brain and understand some people go along with the video so a quality of life change for some would be mentioning important information like that at the beginning?
Just built this and got over 3 stacks of bonemeal in 5 minutes. This farm is awesome! Thank you so much for this.
Good to know the latest comment so I can try
i’ve been hopping around creators to find different farms and i gotta say your videos help a ton and are super simple. i find the more i watch these farm tutorials i pickup tidbits of what works and why, some of the complex ones are too much for my brain but again your videos help convey it clearly. maybe explain what some of the mechanisms do like the redstone clock and the sticky piston trick so people can fully learn and experiment on their own. great job keep it up!
Thank You So Much, Me and my friend had your sugarcane farm but needed a bonemeal, thanks so much!
You can lessen the amount of hoppers required by making a hopper minecart track below the composters if you're short on iron.
I just built his iron farm so I'm flushed with iron😎
@@nathanmuir9118nope
6 irons makes 8 tracks if i remember correctly
I looooove your tutorials!
One request is that you explain more on depth as to WHY blocks, Redstone, components , etc. are placed. It would be so helpful. Thx😊
Having the sand on the pistons is like a zero tick glitch.
Also it would be helpful to have rates in thumbnails and/or intros. Even if it was just per minute or he could even test it by timing for a minute then multiplying by 60 to get the hourly rate.
I've been using your automatic bamboo farm to get my bonemeal but I've forgot I could add extra pistons to it to get better rates. Definitely going to do that now.
you cannot make bonemeal from bamboo, because bamboo does not go into the composter
@@TimoWanrooij73 i used the bonemeal I get from the composters that are supposed to bonemeal the bamboo to get it but now I have a skeleton farm so it doesn't matter that much anymore
Oh okay makes sense
The other day I made one of your farms an got furious when I couldn't get it to work!
I realized following step by step is important at times!
That being said thank you much man! I've used a couple of yours an they all work great! Good job!
Dude, JC thank you for all these great videos. I know this one is a few months old but when there is something I need to learn about and I see a video of yours about it then I know it’s something I can follow and trust in. Thanks man!
Made two of these mirrored in a single chunk this evening and this is way better than the previous farm we had, thank you!
Agreed. Awesome farms. Built 2 as well
This thing is amazing. Going to try to get as much bonemeal as I can before they patch it. My only suggestion would be to specify the chunk border at the beginning (divisible by 16 rule to easily specify it at the beginning) and also the walking away thing. I built it, ran it and walked away so I had to rebuild the entire thing and move it from a chunk border.
EDIT: Also if anyone is having an issue where the sand drops constantly, or the farm isn't working after second use, make sure you check behind the composters for the sand that is infront of the sticky pistons. I couldn't figure out why mine wouldn't work a second round and it's due to the sand there disappearing.
Yea I wish the chunk border bit was mentioned at the beginning, just wasted 30 minutes building this thing and having to tear it down 😅
Thank you so much i didnt notice the sand
I’m on 1.20 bedrock on realms, for some reason sometimes both layers of sand break, therefore stopping kelp growth. does you know how to fix this? I built it within one chunk.
they aren't gonna patch a feature
November 2023 - Working on Bedrock Realms!
Great videos JC and this farm really pumps out the bone meal fast!
dude apart from miscounting 1 build block this video explained everything very well thank you so much
Just as an fyi, I've tried extending this by another 2 blocks and you just have to set the repeater to one tick for it to work.
I built this on my realm. I built it 100% as directed but the kelp did not grow. I set the repeater on 2 ticks. The farm works perfectly now. You always make great stuff that works flawlessly. Thank you for the great tutorials. I always appreciate them. Keep up the great work.
Bug 1: This design can be a big buggy. A couple issues I have had when the farm randomly breaks is the sand on top of the extended pistons will sometimes drop below. You just have to dig down, gather it up and put it back.
Bug 2: I only experienced this once but the farm broke in the following way. The sand on top of the extended pistons was present but when I placed a piece of kelp on each one and turned the farm on again it would just break the bottom piece of kelp instead of growing it. I checked the other row of sand that the sticky pistons were pushing/pulling and that sand was all gone. I replaced those sand blocks and the farm worked fine again.
A little buggy but a great way to get free bonemeal.
I was also thinking it could be a great way to make free fuel for furnaces. Instead of composters use furnaces and just keep restocking them with the dried kelp turned into dried kelp blocks. You would need some fuel to start it but it might give you enough kelp to keep fueling the drying of more kelp...?
Thanks! I suddenly had the second problem, the sand was indeed gone! Thanks for the tip!
Your comment saved me big time I also had the secound problem with the kelp and I couldn't undersramd why all of a sudden it stopped growing, absolute life saver
You are the best. I rebuilt it after realizing it had to be in a chunk. And it still wasnt working. Tried this. And it's all good now!
Is there a way to fix thh bug with the sand falling? It means my bonemeal production is lower then i thought as only two kelp spots are being collected
@bethanyscott9284 not really. You can make the farm wider and just reset the sand and kelp. JC just made a video where her builds a bigger farm. As long as you stay close by, this farm should keep working. It did take advantage of a bug though so it can be buggy because of that.
THANK YOU SO MUCH! I need this farm for sugarcane and this will help me SOOO much!
I really like this because it makes a lot of bone meal and doesn’t use any resources but if kinda annoying when you forget to turn it off before going somewhere else and come back to it being broken
3 months later and still works. Even upgraded to 9 ways. Great for bonemeal and dried kelp. Great upgrade.
How does it work? My kelp isnt 0 ticking
@@andriepurigay4362 you fucked up

@@stevenrutledge you have to build it inside of a chunk.
Mine didn't work cuz the chunk border went right through the farm.
But now it works.
You should talk about the dimensions at the beginning of the video. I thought I had the perfect spot for this, but the area I was going to build it in was too small. I had to make adjustments to fit it where I wanted it.
I agree, same thing happened with me lol. Great vid tho
Thank you I need this for the tree farm I made

Exactly what i needed thank you!! Now i have this, the auto wheat farm and sugarcane 😁
Use a smoker or a furnace instead of a composter to make infinite fuel but u do have to some fuel in them to make but it’s worth it
I stacked this farm on top of your sugarcane farm so i don't have to replenish the bonemeal. I wired up both farms to the same redstone clock and the kelp wasn't growing. I changed the delay on the first repeater to 1 click and now the kelp is growing. The sugarcane wasn't growing, so I had to put the repeater by the dispenser to 2 clicks. It seems slower than either farm individually, but I can fully AFK the sugarcane farm now! Thanks!
I did the same thing on our old realm and had a massive 14 tier creeper tower with a service station, built onto it with 2, yes two, 10block wide, bonemeal generators feeding in to a 6wide sugarcane generator then that sugarcane was rerouted to a converter room when it stack up and could be sent to a sorting system that brought it by mine cart to the front area of the tower where all the paper was stored 😬😵💫🤓
works perfectly if you're careful to be inside a chunk, thanks!

As of 1/27/24 it works I unfortunately had to rebuild it because it was not fully in one chunk as he mentioned at the end of the video 😭. It’s been running for about maybe 5 mins now and have 3 stacks , will be using this as a kelp and bonemeal farm 🔥
Bro thank you so much is works insanely good definitly try this out
Oh my god! This machine is beautiful!
I built it in survival.
It outperformes cactus farns for bonemeal by miles.
And i guess it can easily be used for producing kelp blocks too, if the kelp is fed into furnaces for drying.
Do not put the Lord’s name in vain
I make 2 of them and use the second one like you said but i use smokers. im not sure if it's changed since the last time i made it but the smokers also held onto all of the XP from cooking the kelp if you had hoppers pulling out the cooked kelp. With this i used a lever and redstone to turn off the hoppers and got loads of XP when grabbing the kelp from the smoker. I used it as my instant repair for any mending item and also free easy fuel from kelp blocks that you can then use in the smokers.
@@sageledet1848 Smokers are faster than smelters here. And manually emptying them now and then emits all accumulated XP.
I figured out that drying kelp with kelp blocks work best if the kelp is accumulated in larger batches for the ovens. Otherwise it consumes too much fuel.

Yep. Same for me. Wasted time building this
In the event that you need to troubleshoot this machine, there are two fixes.
The first is mentioned in the video. You have to ensure that no sand falls to the bottom and the machine can be restarted by removing the sand that fell and replacing it. You can make a two wide hole on the side of the build to easily access this. Or use a trap door to force crawl mode and access it that way.
If this doesnt fix the machine you may have to remove the first layer of blocks to expose the sticky pistons. If there is no sand attached to the piston you will not get the kelp grow rates shown. You must reattach the sand and the device should be fine.
You can make the build cheaper by replacing the bottom hopper with a minecart with hopper, rails, and some powered rails, and rig that up woth a repeater and wiring so that when you turn on the machine the minecart collects the bonemeal and deposits it in an adjacent chest.
Awesome build!
