“Correction is not just for confrontation, it’s meant for restoration”
Amen! so good! 👏
Yes! Thank you, Candyce!
I bring truth (the ‘what’), but I struggle with delivery (the ‘how’). Too direct, too focused, not thinking of the individual, only thinking of the infraction. Thanks for this word.
Thanks for sharing!! I’m glad this helped a bit.
Hey boss Eph. 5:21 wasn’t the correct scripture reference.
Hebrews 13:17 was the verse you quoted.
Just so you know.
Great and insightful video.
Thank you for sharing these Biblical correction.
Viewers may find something of interest in my book - Correction without Criticism [Etta Ganter]. It provides an approach for having emotionally tough conversations. Strategies are made explicit and examples are provided. God Bless. 🙏
the message that "it is not what you say but *_how_* you say it" is a lie in DIRECT contradiction to God's WORD: Paul's warning about itching ears in 2Tim 4:2-4, God's warnings about those who claim "peace peace" when there is no peace [Jeremiah 6:14 & 8:11], Jesus' warnings about false Christs speaking words to deceive, if it were possible, the very elect [Mark 13:22}.. and the fact that Satan appears as an angel of light [2Cor 11:14].. Therefore take heed WHAT you hear..... it matters FAR more than *_HOW_* it is said.
"And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you." (Matt 24:2)
Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long suffering and doctrine.
For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables. (2Tim 4:2-4)
And then if any man shall say to you, Lo, here is Christ; or, lo, he is there; believe him not: For false Christs and false prophets shall rise, and shall shew signs and wonders, to seduce, if it were possible, even the elect. (Mark 13:21-22)
They have healed also the hurt of the daughter of my people slightly, saying, Peace, peace; when there is no peace. Were they ashamed when they had committed abomination? nay, they were not at all ashamed, neither could they blush: therefore they shall fall among them that fall: at the time that I visit them they shall be cast down, saith the Lord.
Thus saith the Lord, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls. But they said, We will not walk therein. (Jer 6:14-16, Jer 8:11)
Thanks for your input! That statement is not meant to avoid speaking truth, but meant to have tact when presenting.
Thank you man, A friend of mine claiming the name of christ just recently come out as bi, And I am working with another brother in christ to correct him. Prayers would be so welcome, and god bless.
Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables. But you be watchful in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry.
II Timothy 4:2-5 NKJV

Amen, Correction is one of the most important aspects of christian life - Hebrews 12:8
Amen!
what if the person correcting is the one who is wrong?
Then they would need to be corrected also. But it all must be done in love. Without love, it leads to strife and division.
