12 years later point crow finally picks up on skyrim

Yeah I finally picked it up last year myself. Fiancée let me play the OG version before hand I’ve loved the setting and story. ^^
I feel like starting a Skyrim playthrough and breaking your computer in the process is a rite of passage
also your entire first play session is spent on the character creation screen
me who's only played console I don't have that issue but my loading screens take 3 minutes longer than yours so it balances out just like god howard intended
Its been 12 years and I still play this game. Mods really push it into the next generation, and I love how supportive Bethesda is about modding.
They were supportive because they found a way to monetize it, same with minecraft. Better than most companies, I guess. It's hard though, because many other popular games are online multiplayer which don't really support modded gameplay on a fundamental level.

It's very worth it to learn how to mod Skyrim. There's so many performance and QoL mods that I can't play without now that I have them.
Here's a tip that I've picked up on in my years of playing Skyrim. Always play it in windowed mode. That way, when it jams/stalls, it does not lock up your entire PC. Then you can call uncle task manager to put it down.

Best way to recover from Skyrim crash IMO is to Press Ctrl+Alt+Delete, then "Log Off", but hit ESCAPE repeatedly, so it cancels out. Skyrim will be the first program to auto-close, but then you can keep yourself logged in and try again.
That laugh track's timing had me DYING. Please enjoy Skyrim and PLEASE mod it once you're comfortable with the gameplay. It's well worth it even just to get joke mods -- the community will certainly have a ton of suggestions! Just make sure to keep an eye out for incompatibilities because they can turn the game into crash roulette.
Edit: When Skyrim freezes and takes over the mouse, I use Win10's Task View and make a new desktop, and I open Task Manager on THAT desktop. From there, you can end Skyrim and then delete the second desktop (or keep it open for future freezes).
It's so stupid! But the laugh track and falling pipe streams are legitimately the best things ever next to Minecraft explode when you say a word!

Playing skyrim is pretty cursed if you have multiple monitors and tab out. This happens all the time, you need mods to prevent it. It isn't even your pc.
Eric, I just started playing Skyrim on PS4 a few months back. It is the "adult" Legend of Zelda that I have always wanted. You will enjoy this game a lot... except for the bugs.
This brings back childhood memories of me and my cousins trying to play games online with our hamster wheel powered dust bucket computers. Bro handled it much better than us back in the day.

The Stormcloaks are fighting to worship their god of men, Talos, and make Ulfric Stormcloak (who controls the city of Windhelm where he notably makes Dark Elf refugees sleep in slums and bans Argonains from living in the city) the high king of Skyrim. The Imperials are fighting to enforce the laws of a treaty the Empire signed to end The Great War with the High Elf supremacists called the Thalmor, which in exchange for not annihilating the Empire, banned the worship of Talos in Skyrim. There's even more nuance than that, but this comment is already long enough.
This brings me more joy than I can put into words so I'll just say, have fun man >:)))

If you play on switch at the throat of the world you can get the master sword, hylian shield, and champions tunic, I think you can get it with amibos too

Special would be perfect for you. Anniversary Edition just adds stuff that we're previously mods, so it's not really important if you wouldn't be playing this often.

This makes me a little sad. Skyrim is such a fun game, but getting immersed into it and role playing makes it so, so much better. This interrupted, chatty, and jokey beginning will really minimize what is most fun about the game for Eric I fear.

Skyrim does a terrific job of breaking immersion on it's own, it's fine.
Half the fun is seeing how many bugs he'll get.

I agree completely. I'm asking myself how anyone can watch the game like this. Eric is saying right now, in the video, that the chatty bs opening and stuff is killing his immersion. Killed mine too.
@@Varunic219 I love point crow's stuff in general. But he is used to playing superficial games that use skill but do not employ the imagination or narrative creativity the same way. Skyrim is a deeper game. You cannot really role play Breath of the Wild. And you could sort of with pokemon, but it doesn't lend itself to it. Skyrim is just a different beast.
I love Skyrim so much
Please for the love of the divines, get some mods. Just the basic ones that make this game playable on PC. It's super easy to do, plenty of good guides online (Or you could always hire someone to do it). You don't need a lot of them and there's a lot of great ones out there that don't even change the game all that much.
Here's my key suggestions:
• SkyUI: This is a must-have mod for most people playing on PC. It changes the UI so it's made for Keybord and Mouse rather than controller.
• Unofficial Patch: What it says on the tin. It fixes some of the worse, game crashing bugs.
• SMIM: The Static Mesh Improvement Mod. Basically it takes 2D things and makes them 3D models.
• A Quality World Map: Makes the World map more usable
• Realistic Water Two SE: Makes the water look less like playdough
• Book Covers of Skyrim: Makes a unique book cover for every book in Skyrim (This one is a _very_ big file so it'd make sense to skip it)
• No Bethesda intro: Just removes the Bethesda intro at launch so you can get to the game faster. It may be nice now, but trust me, it gets old quick.
There's plenty of smaller mods like "Natural Teeth" or "Dear Diary - Paper SkyUI Menus Replacer SE" that just make the game look nicer but certainly not necessary. There's also various music mods like "Additional Music Project", "Immersive Music", and "Fantasy Soundtrack Project SE" that add more songs to the sound track that fit in so well I genuinely can't remember what tracks are added by the mods.
In short, there's a whole lot of mods out there that don't do crazy stuff like adding Thomas the Tank engine in (though that does exist) and instead just make the game more enjoyable to play (and watch). In any case, super jazzed to see someone new to the game picking it up in 2023 and I look forward to future videos.

For one that waterbreathing great for getting to and exploring underwater structures two tutorial weapons are overrated as in ya don't need em cause argonians have claws 4 play how you want to but if ya want something specific ya gotta level up that skill 5 you make your unarmed damage higher with gauntlets so if ya wanna be a magical lizard collectin buckets maybe wear or keep the best gauntlets you can find 6 mess around with the different weapon types as using only fisties or magic can get boring
I recently picked up Skyrim. I just finished the main Dragon-related questline at lvl49 and i really loved it. Dont care for the Civil War story tho so im gonna stop playing.
The civil war is indeed trash. There was a ton of cut content so it ended up super lacking and crap.
The Mages guild is pretty boring but both the Thieves Guild and Dark Brotherhood have great quests and there are quite a few other interesting independent quests for the Daedric gods to get their weapons, I’d recommend all of them except Meridias beacon.
Then the DLCS are high quality, the Dawnguard is great even if one or two of the new areas is a chore to get through.
The other one is just great, and Solstheim is a great addition.
I really wish I could play this game but I get motion sickness ;w;
