I had the chance to drive a friend's base Stingray around the mountains near Malibu, and I don't care what any of the armchair internet haters say, even in base form, the new Corvettes are darn near PERFECT! It's a fantastic car. This Z06 has to be next level for sure.

They ARE certainly modern supercar material, but they were never built in the US. One was built by a racecar builder in the UK, and the other was built by a racecar builder in Italy. America just cant do these things.

You show me one for 170 and I’ll buy it. Cheapest I’ve seen any of them around my area or even further is well over 200. Guy down the street was offered one for 230. Not sure if he went through with it or not but still blew my mind at the markup on them.

@@waterloo123100 finally someone speaking my mind, it’s just disproportionate. C7 looks so much nicer than the C8. But the performance of the C8 is pretty much unmatched especially at that price point

I had the chance to drive a friend's base Stingray around the mountains near Malibu, and I don't care what any of the armchair internet haters say, even in base form, the new Corvettes are darn near PERFECT! It's a fantastic car. This Z06 has to be next level for sure.

Why is everything in America about CHEAPNESS. Why has america never built a single real supercar. All of America has ONE good car. The Corvette. It was true when I was a child, and its still true today.
While over in the real world, there has been hundreds of supercar models since I was a kid.

Are you seriously calling the Dodge Viper a "supercar"? And Ford GT? Which one. The 1960s one that was made by Lola in England? the 2004 version which was built out of bits and pieces from British / German cars? The only American part of it was the 12 mpg V8 out of a Ford pickup truck. And the 2017 Ford GT was assembled in Canada, designed and built in England. Using ONLY English part suppliers.
Saleen S7 Loosely based on some blueprint of an Aston Martin racecar that Aston Martin decided not to build. Steve built their version out of steel tubes and sheet aluminium in the back of Steve Saleens tuneshop. And then picked every bit of tech and engineering out of other cars. Never crash tested, no emissions certification, no nothing. Running on kit-car plates.
And while the new Mustang, every current Mustang, is probably the best cars America has on offer right now, the new raced up Mustang is just a raced up mustang. Trying to beat the best from Porsche. but in doing so, they have made it a complete beast. While a Porsche is still a Porsche. Its just a different culture, dude.
For example nobody in the entire US of Murca has ever made a single carbon moncoque for cars. Not a single millisecond, dual clutch, paddleshift gearbox. No venturi channels, active aero, ground effect car. Not a single car with ANY of the bells and whistles that you find in modern supercars.
And yes that goes for the SSC Tuatara and Hennessey F5 too. They ARE certainly modern supercar material, but they were never built in the US. One was built by a racecar builder in the UK, and the other was built by a racecar builder in Italy.
America just cant do these things.
