He said, always adjust them to where the side of your car is just slightly out of view, as you already know where the side of your car is. Instead, adjust it slightly outward. Great vid, thanks! I've owned C5 Corvette and a C6; they were both terrific vehicles and extremely comfortable to drive. I would absolutely never own a C8, but they are nice looking, and that engine sounds incredible.
Purchased a 2024 Dark Horse, loaded, and most importantly, manual tremec transmission. Honeymoon was over but still love driving it. Slapping in the Whipple supercharger for 810 horsepower also brought life back to it. So happy I was able to find one brand new at MSRP earlier this year
Thanks for making my morning so enjoyable you actually had me laughing out loud on several of your comments. I too love that car but for now I can’t seem to give up my Subaru Forrester! You did a great job on the video I’m still chuckling!
I respect everything you've stated. I'm going for a z06 early spring. As a 52 yr old it sounds more like 50 something issues. I worked at a Chevy dealership around the time the c6 came out ,non pop ups and independent rear suspension ❤, and half the men looking or buying could barely get in or out. Thankful I'm good that was sad to see😅😅😅. Thanks for the laughs and info
Just found your channel tonight. You did an amazing job with this video! A combination of real life, comedy, etc. kept me engaged through the whole video. There are so many you tubers that have “what I like or dislike “ videos, but yours is well done, and all around just a great video
I love this , got better and better tru the video. My first subscription. I've owned 15 vettes over past 50 yrs, including a 2020 z51 covert c-8, and now a 2024 non z51 coupe -loved them both, like looks of the coupe much better and did not need the z51 pkg. Agree with the comments but I get a litter better gas mileage than you, and I think it's great for almost 500 hp. My only driver here in Phoenix.
That’s hilarious. I was looking up c8 reviews because I want one next, and your video appeared. I instantly felt I had seen you before and turns out it was from your Bronco videos! We have very similar taste haha
Really enlightening. I had never thought about how anoying it would be have to finesse your way to just to get in and out. Still planning to get this when im 45 to kick off my mid life crisis.
I like the special effects, where there's "tears" coming out of the C8's "eyes", with those carefully placed drops! Overall a great job on this video! 👍
You sir are a genius, VERY entertaining and informative video on extended C8 ownership, Bravo you have a new subscriber. My C8 relationship only lasted 9 months, unfortunately I had to get a divorce, but I stayed in the family, I used the funds of the C8 sale to purchase (adopt) a couple of relatives, a 2010 C6 Grand Sport Convertible, a mint condition Garage Queen with only 4K miles and a mid millage, slightly modified (headers, mild cam) 2003 C5 Z06, both in manual transmission of course. My biggest gripe with the C8 was the first item on your list, the in and out sequence, I felt "squeezed" when driving the car. I may revisit C8 ownership in 2026 when the expected interior refresh is avalable. Good luck with your channel!
I have a 2024 C8 and just hit 4,000 miles. Love it! The only negative for me is the wireless charger...it won`t charge my phone. I mentioned it to Rick Conti, who sold me my C8,and he said it might be the case surrounding the phone. He says he has the same problem.
This video caught me in the first minute simply because it was hilarious. Great editing and very informative too. Nicely done. Added plus…I see you’re an Alfa fan too.
Bought a 2017 Fiat 124 Spider. It drove well, was reliable and fun to own. However, your point about getting in and out is totally understood. You need to put your butt in (reverse seating). Of course, I am comparing two different cars, but it is quite similar. Blind spots as well. Moving around in the cabin takes much effort.
I love the center divider . Can operate stuff on info screen also remember . Wife has no problem with center stack buttons or it being there . I love the square wheel . I switched out my summer only tires at dealer when got the car for all seasons factory ones . Much better ride , quieter and better tread life . Great handling and ride with z51 and mag ride 👍🏻 Mileage no big deal. No problems so far but only got 1500 miles on it 2023 .
Love your comedy bits. Funnier than the late night shows. I owned a C3 for 11 years and a C5 for 5 years and all your complaints apply to them as well except for the big console (theirs isn’t) and the brakes squeaking ( theirs don’t). The only thing i would take issue with is the mileage. With that engine and horsepower did you really expect anything more? My C5 put out comparatively small 350HP, and I was lucky to get 23MPG on the highway on cruise control. So with much more HP your C8 is not out of line.
Gerard, This video was GREAT ! Clear, concise and funny. And honest. I loved your RI Polo shirt. I thought ALL of your perspectives were rock solid. Really GREAT. Thx !
I hear you on that road noise my man, it's the run-flats! Since one has the pressure indicators, I went for the non-run flat version when I had my C5. Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3s were my fav, about $2,200 a set. They really made a huge difference, those run Flats have extra strength in the side walls so they can run flat but it's not worth it, never had a flat not even once.
Awesome video and hilarious! I LOL’d several times! The tears coming from the car and the video edit ins were spot on. Great job! I have a ‘96 M6 convertible and making a Tesla Model 3 performance my daily. Cheers!
My favorite C8 Corvette video yet! I share your list of honeymoon busters -- especially getting in and out of this gorgeous machine. Well done. PS. The tear drops were hilarious.
Great video! I had a vet pass me yesterday so I rolled the window down to hear the motor but the tires was all I heard. As for the loud cold starts… I can’t begin to tell you how good I am with this!
Great video, very well done and I honestly enjoyed it. One thing from a C4 owner DO NOT use your steering wheel to exit the vehicle. Thanks for the laughs.
Nice video. Agree that center console is just too much! Also agree and think it's an absolute sin the car can't be offered in a manual. Absolute beautiful car. Love the color. My trucks brakes do the same thing. They work fantastic though so I don't mind. Thank you for the video.
Hey man, great video! 2 things; you're brakes on the C8 are high carbon steel. They're gonna rust super fast after rain, wash, ect. Especially if you let it sit for a day or two. Also, I get the same MPG you get in my '23 1500 Ram 5.7l. And I have it set to grandma mode, so I feel ya.
Nice job on the video! I don't currently own a Corvette (I had a C5 years ago) but I really enjoyed this video. Everything from the videography to the editing and narration were top notch.
Love the perspective, just as long as you don't become 'henpecked' in this relationship. If your girl is ever need counseling, I'll be glad to offer her help.
Gerald great video, I feel the pain on your side view mirrors - please try this trick to see if it works. - I learned this trick from a pro driver who was also a motivational speaker at a track event. Sit in car and lean as far as you possibly can to the right. Then adjust passenger side mirror to just see the tail of your car. Next, on drivers side, put your temple on the window glass and do the same adjustment. Good chance both side mirrors will have adjusted outwards quite a bit. The result is that when you see a car in the rear view mirror, as it overtakes you, it leaves the rear view and is now in the side view mirror only. And if it is there, its too close to change lanes. If adjusted this way, you’ll never see overtaking car in both rear and side mirrors at same time. - This worked for me on several cars, maybe it will work on your C8.
What you can drive as a daily driver depends alot on where you live and go daily. I'm in a torn up northwest ohio town where you cant park in a grocery parking lot without carts and cars banging off your new car and lots of ice/snow in the winter and the roads suck in general... But if you live/work in a small town with few idiots... you can make things work....
I absolutely love your videos!! The positive attitude is out of this world. Hopefully, I'll run into you one of these days if you're cruising through Virginia Beach!!! It's hard to miss the my C8 CMG Z06 I call Blue Ice 2!!! General Lee Out!!!
I'm in VA Beach most weekends. I have a lot of friends out there. Definitely hope to run into you one day! I love the Z06. Hopefully I'll upgrade one day. Thanks for watching!
This was very entertaining. Though I'm a car guy and have driven a couple of older versions of the Corvette, I never wanted to own one, for at least some of the reasons you mention. Well done video 👍
Haha that rocky marriage intro was great! Awesome video. I still decided to buy a C7 to daily drive for the simpler maintenance and ease of operation. But you definitely encouraged me to upgrade to a C8 later down the road.
I have to admit, you are spot on. I don’t use mine as a daily driver, but everything you mention, spot on. One more, and it is due to my choice, is owning a black one. Fingerprints, water spots and insect strikes….😖. Especially living out in the country, where I do (Louisiana).
I live in houston... I put a deposit for a 2025 c8 and the build tool should go online on the 10th of September ive been really back and fourth on what color I want I've been thinkin black or competition yellow but I don't know! Havnt actually seen what the yellow looks like in person what do you think?
My 24 C8 is my 7th black vehicle. Rest have been Trucks/SUV. To me, when they are clean, the prettiest vehicle out there. BUT….it shows so many “flaws”, whether from the factory, weather related, nature related, or self “promoted” (like fingerprints). I’m just used to it. Also, you not being too far from me, the summer heat/humidity. 🥵. Basically it’s “extra” work to have it. BUT ALSO….the looks/compliments you will get….priceless.
Renting one of these this weekend to head up to Santa Ynez valley here in California. It will be my first time driving something that's either mid engined or has 500hp. To say I'm excited is an understatement.
Bravo. Really enjoyed the video and got some chuckles. Learned a thing or 2 about the new Corvette as well. Not really my cup of tea but you made it worth the watch!
Great video - done with a ton of passion. HOWEVER - I would caution against using the steering wheel for leverage when getting out of the car. This is what has killed countless C4 steering columns - they are loose because of this strategy. Instead, use the A-Pillar and either the seat or the door sill. Cheers!
Haha great job on this video- loved it! And thanks for bringing up the two things I don’t like about them- no manual transmission (although I can get past that due to the paddles) and the center console. Big and in the way, and those buttons don’t do anything special anyway. Yes the frame is under there, but it doesn’t have to go so high at the front.
Gerard, you are too much! The tears of the C8...brilliant! My biggest gripe after 7 months with my C8 is still the same the day I got it. The rear view camera mirror. Why did they have to have it as highly reflective. Yes, I know you can turn it towards you so the glare off of it is not as bad, but when you want to flip it and use the regular mirror now it has to be totally adjusted. Computer screens come both with glare and without glare. They could of made it non-glare. Maybe I will find some tint that will do the job. But all in all, my honeymoon is over too, but I LOVE my baby (which is just like yours but with the hi-wing spoiler and red interior). I always tell me wife that a corvette is a chick magnet, yet all the old dudes and the old ladies and cart boys in the stores parking lots seem to be the ones who go gaga over it. Just so funny! Keep up the great vids!
Not sure if the C8 has a dual clutch transmission or some torque converter nonsense. But as a guy who has driven a 2005 Audi TT with DSG for 18 years as my daily driver, I can tell you that the only thing you can do with a manual better than with a DSG is damage your engine or your transmission. My paddle shifted DSG shifts faster, more accurately than ANY manual, and it automatically shifts up the instant I touch redline, so it protects both the engine and the transmission from my own exuberance. I also gotta say that the 05 TT 3.2L in drive mode is very civilized and makes a very understated exhaust note, and only really roars when you put it in Sport mode, or manual and delay shifting to redline. Plus, I can carry lumber home in my TT. Oh, and it gets 31 mpg if you are letting it do the shifting in D.
Well done. I had a C5 Vette when they first came out. I bought it with a manual transmission, which is the only way I'd want a sports car. All of your other dislikes about the C8 are exactly the things that I didn't like in the C5 (sans the loudness of the exhaust).
Well, I've had my daily driver C8 for 8 months and my thoughts are: 1. Ingress/egress: agree, you do bump your head. But it's better than the C4 I had. 2. The "wall": Disagree. How often do you really need to touch those buttons when you're moving (or not) anyway? 3. Manual Transmission: Dude, get over it. Has nothing to do with the console and everything to do with performance and demand (i.e. "take rate"). Just ask Ferrari, Lamborghini, etc. 4. Loud Cold Start: Yeah it's about the catalytic converters but it can get obnoxious depending on where you are and who's around 5. Road Noise: Agree...and as you say, it's worse on concrete 6. Blind Spots: As many have said in the comments, ADJUST YOUR MIRRORS CORRECTLY. Problem solved. All in all, very entertaining my man..keep up the good work.
I've only had mine for 3 months but I agree with most of what you found difficult to live with. Ingress and Egress check, LOUD cold starts check, difficulty changing lanes check. I just remind myself she's gorgeous, sexy, I'm proud to be seen with her and she's great in...... the garage? So all is well here also.
You got some good video skills! That was a properly done video. And that brake squeak is from a light rusting on the rotors. Couple of blocks down the road and the squeaks go away. All normal…
Very well done vid. Look up Car Talk radio show , how to adjust your mirrors. Basically, if you can see your C8 in your side mirrors, you need to point the out more. It’s weird at first, but eliminates blind spots.
And I love the creativity behind this video! Very awesome. I am about to get a new Tesla Model 3 and I'm praying about if I'm getting the performance or not. I'm imagining some of the same things that you were talking about, especially getting in and out of the vehicle. I have a 2021 model 3 and it's not even as low as the performance. It's in 25. And that took some getting used to as well. And I'm really hoping I don't wake up anybody in the morning turning on my Tesla LOL.
Had my 23 for 2 years and love to drive it. Had Ferraris, Vipers, Vettes and several 911s. This is my favorite so far. Tire noise is the only complaint.
Great video....very entertaining and I like your imagination. I agree with some things, disagree with others, but all in all, you are pretty much on track. All in all the most amazing vehicle I have ever owned! My first view of your channel and look forward to more. Thanks
The getting in and out is all supercar territory! The center console gives it that fighter jet feel to the cockpit! My 2020 only has 4,500 miles on it! I personally wouldn't make it a daily driver for all the things you mentioned. I drive it when my destination involves a winding road! An average or smaller height and build make it a more comfortable ride. It's definitely not for a 6 foot + person!
I like the comparison to a relationship. I did laugh at the end when you want to it to be a long-term relationship but you're going to get something on the side. nice video
Very nice. Good to see the marriage will live on. You can work through the problems: one of you leaving the cap off the oil can, leaving the hood up when she wants it down, and of course - you want a/c and she wants heat.
What a well produced, an entertaining video, and the owner of the car was very gracious with his criticisms, I still Would really like to on such a beautiful car
As a long standing 911 owner, I can testify that your complaints about your C8, are just the realities of owning a high end sports car.

Purchased a 2024 Dark Horse, loaded, and most importantly, manual tremec transmission. Honeymoon was over but still love driving it. Slapping in the Whipple supercharger for 810 horsepower also brought life back to it. So happy I was able to find one brand new at MSRP earlier this year
What is a Dark Horse? It’s not a Corvette.

0:52 So funny! 😂 A lot of effort went into this video. Subscribed.
😂
I love the wealth of information available on Corvettes. Thank you!
I can't imagine driving this thing everyday but on the weekends wroom wroom ❤
Lol, yes we do!
Great video! 🤣🤣
The Butt First Twist Move (BFTM) works! Always, check to ensure no one sees you falling awkwardly out the car as well. 😂
I❤C8
Really enlightening. I had never thought about how anoying it would be have to finesse your way to just to get in and out. Still planning to get this when im 45 to kick off my mid life crisis.
Great video - I also like the Corvette - and her ability of daily driving - (my old Italo couldn't...)
I had the same problem as well, had to switch cases to a thinner one. Hope this helps.
Your humor is over the top, funny!! Love your breakdown.
I love the center divider . Can operate stuff on info screen also remember . Wife has no problem with center stack buttons or it being there .
I love the square wheel .
I switched out my summer only tires at dealer when got the car for all seasons factory ones . Much better ride , quieter and better tread life . Great handling and ride with z51 and mag ride 👍🏻
Mileage no big deal.
I have not actually LOL’d at a RUclips video in a loooong time. This was great. Thank you. Definitely subscribed.
Great video, and I do think that driving the car every day takes away some of the excitement. Save this car for the weekend!
Love the perspective, just as long as you don't become 'henpecked' in this relationship. If your girl is ever need counseling, I'll be glad to offer her help.
I daily drive a 2015 C8 Z06 and I have the same issues with my car. It just comes with the territory. Enjoyed the video!
Gerald great video, I feel the pain on your side view mirrors - please try this trick to see if it works.
- I learned this trick from a pro driver who was also a motivational speaker at a track event.
Sit in car and lean as far as you possibly can to the right. Then adjust passenger side mirror to
just see the tail of your car. Next, on drivers side, put your temple on the window glass and do the same adjustment.
Good chance both side mirrors will have adjusted outwards quite a bit. The result is that when you see a car in the rear view mirror,
as it overtakes you, it leaves the rear view and is now in the side view mirror only. And if it is there, its too close to change lanes.
If adjusted this way, you’ll never see overtaking car in both rear and side mirrors at same time.
- This worked for me on several cars, maybe it will work on your C8.
This video was brilliant! That entire intro sequence was hilarious! =)
Thanks, Gerald! Fun to watch and very well done--I'm a subscriber to your channel now!
Awesome video! Thoroughly enjoyed it. Nice to see someone who actually drives their sportscar ‘baby’ as a daily driver.
Enjoy!!! I rented one last year and took it on a small road trip. It was fantastic. For a sports car I found it very comfortable. Have fun!!!
@@SlammedZero cheers!
Bravo. Really enjoyed the video and got some chuckles. Learned a thing or 2 about the new Corvette as well. Not really my cup of tea but you made it worth the watch!
This made me laugh! I died when the Vette starting crying at 1:58.🤣
Great video - done with a ton of passion.
Thank you very much for your video... it so informs how we fall in love with our wheels.
Great car and video! I just bought a Durango 382 SRT!
My retirement present to myself! Good luck brother and drive safely! 👍🏽
Very nice update with good information. Funny too! Thank you.
Very humorous, entertaining and informative. Great job!
Very entertaining presentation, nicely done. Had some good information for prospective C8 buyers.
Well, I've had my daily driver C8 for 8 months and my thoughts are:
4. Loud Cold Start: Yeah it's about the catalytic converters but it can get obnoxious depending on where you are and who's around
5. Road Noise: Agree...and as you say, it's worse on concrete
6. Blind Spots: As many have said in the comments, ADJUST YOUR MIRRORS CORRECTLY. Problem solved.
All in all, very entertaining my man..keep up the good work.
Haven’t driven one yet just had my modded C6, but this is a great review. Thank you very much.
Love, Love, Love this video. Super well done and 100% accurate. Most of the sports cars that I admire have similar trade-offs.
You got some good video skills! That was a properly done video. And that brake squeak is from a light rusting on the rotors. Couple of blocks down the road and the squeaks go away. All normal…
Great video!! I bought my C8 a few months ago, knowing I would only drive it about twice a month.
Lovely video and smart humour 😂
I own a C8 70th anniversary in Saudi Arabia
We are still in the honeymoon phase 😅
Very well done vid. Look up Car Talk radio show , how to adjust your mirrors. Basically, if you can see your C8 in your side mirrors, you need to point the out more. It’s weird at first, but eliminates blind spots.
GREAT video loved the "dating". So funny that even my wife watched it and laughed
Great video. Very entertaining + informative.
Nice job Gerard. Good humor, interesting owner review. Thank you.
All three of my "daily drivers" are 6 speed manuals. It's nice to see someone else who shares my opinion on transmissions.
The intro is hilarious! I was cracking up, nice work!
Great video....very entertaining and I like your imagination. I agree with some things, disagree with others, but all in all, you are pretty much on track. All in all the most amazing vehicle I have ever owned! My first view of your channel and look forward to more. Thanks
Humoristic, intelligent, fantastic video about the C8!!
For 3k subs (Nov 2024) you're doing a great job... I am entertained!
I like the comparison to a relationship. I did laugh at the end when you want to it to be a long-term relationship but you're going to get something on the side. nice video
well done young man, well done.. and I agree on your points..
Awesome review! I just took possession of a C8 z51 after selling my C7 z51, I'm still in the honeymoon phase, mine is not a daily driver however.
Your intro was hilarious. Well done!
This has to be one of the funniest Corvette videos I’ve ever seen✌🏻🤣😂 great job👍🏻
