hey. super interested in getting the Z8 with this grip. How secure is the usb cable at the point where the usb connects to the grip? I planned on getting a cage which has clamps to secure it but it's very worrying seeing that cable stick out the top of the grip without any kind of onboard clamp. Great video!
Definitely something you’ll want to be aware of. I bought a usb cable that is not stiff at all and with enough length to essentially have it tied to a point prior to it getting plugged in. That way any tension that hits the cable will only yank on the cinch and not the port. I also keep it unplugged when not using and when I’m transporting the gimbal. So far no issues whatsoever.
@@SixHexSix wow this was priceless tip. Thanks a bunch. I think I’m going to still commit to it. Currently deciding between this and the A7IV and I’m leaning into this. Esp since you can use Sony lenses.
@@gnkstudios6138 yup the Z mount does allow any lens to be adapted. Nikon also just bought RED camera company, which will have some interesting and hopefully innovative stuff coming down the line, especially for video.
It’s great. Being able to go through the menus without having to touch the camera is great. I actually picked up the power zoom lens and will be able to zoom with the grip.
Great content! What arm did you buy for the grip to connect to your ronin?

How do you like it after owning it for a few months.

@@SixHexSix Which Nikon lenses are power zoom?
@@tonytech5520 12-28mm. Z6 and Z6ii still haven’t gotten the update to use the power zoom yet though
