Hanzo Hasashi, better known as the warrior Scorpion, is summoned to meet with the Shogun of Kumamoto Castle. While traveling, the fearless General of the Shirai Ryu clan encounters his mortal enemy, Sub-Zero. Scorpion realizes too late that this trap has led him away from his village and family, leaving them without means to defend themselves. He knows that he must defeat Sub-Zero and return to his village before it is too late.

These series are WAY BETTER than the movie. I'm so disappointed that they didn't take notes.
Kevin Tancharoen was the one who created and directed the episodes of Mortal Kombat Legacy Seasons 1 and 2. It was announced back in 2011 that Kevin Tancharoen had signed on to direct a new big-screen adaptation of Mortal Kombat but backed out in 2013. His movie definitely would have stuck much closer to the source material. Based on how trash the new movie was, I can see why he left if that's the direction Warnerbros wanted to go in.

As the ultimate mortal Kombat fan, this is as good as it gets outside the games, Hanzo was done so well and the way everything played out was awesome.

This was made by Warner Bros Entertainment so they obviously had the funds, but they decided to spend half of it on this and the other half on Green Lantern. 2011 Nether Realm studios and Warner

Give a the maker of that series and Netherrealm Studios a big enough budget and complete creative control and you have a pretty cool movie
Remember an idea was proposed for a movie it was called Rebirth and it didn't go through and that's how the Legacy show was kreated
Don Mega it kinda was a one way ticket, the director made rebirth and it blew up online having wb actually give him the ok to make more. ed boon was supportive on the new take. But because wb still didn't wanna go full just yet that's why they all are shorts. Season two is the fans fault for wanting it to be like the games. They didn't let this new take continue on.

@S Wright season 2, I said season 2, season one was really nolan style, untill the Johnny cage episode. But season 2 was a drastic change. Sure rebirth braaka was a hitman blah blah but was down to earth not to supernatural. Season 1 was enjoyed everyone loved it, but season 2 really everyone had some kind of issue with it, it didn't match season 1 not the actors just how the story went. Personally I loved it . But there were issues.

After seeing this this made me more sad for scorpions death his last words were “the new Shirai Ryu are worthy it’s heart not blood that makes them warriors.” Hanzo telling his past self to let go of his rage and pick the path to redemption and not the path to vengeance and rage.
Asks son to perform song in front of them, decides to have a conversation when son starts to sing it.

What I like about this mini-serie is that we actually get to see some bond between Hanzo and his wife/son, I mean I feel more sad when his wife and son died in this movie than in the game
Can we thank Kevin Tancheroen for putting in massive effort and having the characters speak Japanese? I think he did a phenomenal job looking at it years later. The story actually had depth.

This is why I appreciate the new Scorpion we got in MK11... because he is Hanzo. Meanwhile, people are mad that Scorpion doesn't sound like the one in MKX.

It kinda sucks they didn't make this into a full on series or another movie, it was really good. The Mortal Kombat series has such a great story they need to do more with it other than just comics and games. It's been forever since we had a movie is all I'm saying.

Had to revisit the old internet series ... about to rewatch the old trailer for MK legacy then watch the series.... underrated , the first short film was an internet classic
You could tell Scorpion and Sub-Zero not speaking was a far better idea in the original Mortal Kombat movie. Much more visceral and mysterious.

MK Legacy blows the uninspired 2021 film out of the water by such a huge margin. It really goes to show that an actual vision and love for the material will show regardless of the budget.
You all obviously, should know at least, that Bi Han did not kill the Shogun and Didn't destroy Hanzos Village. It was Quan-Chi. If you'd play MK9, then you'll know.

@@cooldude2027 no quan chi minipulated sektor to order bi han too kill his family and clan, technically its still quan chi because if he wasnt involved then that wouldnt of happened. This is reboot timeline im talking about btw Im not to sure about og timeline as its been a while
Haydn Lamar no, Quan Chi made a deal with Sektor and Quan Chi honored his side of the deal by massacring the Shirai Ryu and killing Scorpion and his family, this was all said in Mortal Kombat X which takes place in the reboot timeline, Scorpion even says in the same game that Quan Chi messed with his head and misguided his vengeance (which he did by making him think Bi Han did it)

@@thrillfinesse the whole premise about how the fighters are just randomly chosen by fate rather than if they are good fighters or people who actually care about humanity (instead gangsters terrorist or pedophiles). I also hate the the inclusion of the POV main character who goes through the so tired cliche "chosen one" arc of not good enough until he is, because I already saw that movie it was called kung fu panda.
The directing is better tho in the movie

I loved the newer movie.
This was made by Nether Realm Studio and Warner Brothers Entertainment, the reason it’s not as good with SFX is because the Studio was working on Green Lantern the same year this came out. It’s also the reason WB didn’t have the budget to make Green Lantern as good as it’s other movies.
