- Today in the shop we finally give the Rotten Banana some well deserved finishing touches. When we converted this thing we may have skipped a few steps along the way since we initially thought it was going to be a rowdy burnout car. Now that it's on the chopping block to sell, it's time to make it a little more presentable.

Dan i have to agree with some of your other subscribers. You have reached a new low. Whats the point ? Just sell it as is . Everything you just did will have to be sanded off and re-done. I'd rather see less videos . Its painful to watch.

Back up a bit more with that turbo can, you can practically paint that whole fender in 2 or 3 passes. The fan is HUGE on those cans!!

Dan in the Holly set up you can change it over to use the stock LS map sensor and not have to run the Holly map sensor with vacuum line. That’s how I set all mine up.
Dan is like Ford when they were turning out Model T's. He will paint any car, any color as long as it's flat black from a turbo can!

I agree with some other subscribers, you're doing what you do, and it's entertaining to watch. When I was in my early 20's, many many years ago, my best friend drifted sideways into an overpass support column. Crumpled the rear quarter of the '69 Dart two-door. We put over a gallon of bondo in that crease. I later bought it from him for $400. Drove the car for about two years after that. It finally went to the scrapyard. I STILL don't do bodywork, but bondo is still an option for some folks, just usually not 40 pounds of it. Fiberglass too. If I want to watch metal artistry, there are other channels who do that. If I want to see someone put a $25,000 paint job on a car, there are channels that do that too. I watch this channel because I find you entertaining, and I like the cars. Come on people, they start as rusted hulks that nobody wants. It's never going to be a show car, it was grabbed away from the jaws of the crusher. Thanks for the fun videos, you two.

A lot of the old craftsman power tools were made by Makita, I have a chop saw I bought for $12 that I rebuilt and it's still going strong

All jokes aside, you are harboring that rust by putting bondo and paint directly over it, that sheet metal will be gone within a year, an extra 15 minutes and you could have run the DA over it but. The coatings they have today are amazing

I learned this in autobody school , if you use cheap primer or paint you get a cheap result , you will wind up doing it twice , if you can't do it right save up til you can do it right , you could even lacquer it then wet sand a gorgeous paint job , you get what you put into it
