Did a DIY first fix on my kitchen the other week after binging a bunch of your videos. No leaks yet and used to look like one of these horror shows. Cheers for the tutorials!

Most of these disasters have something in common : husbands turning themselves into week end plumbers. I'm happily retired now and after many years of doing plumbing (even in countries that still use galvanized pipes) I found myself, more than once, being supervised by "experienced" husbands to the point that, more than once, I left the work place only to be called the next day (the wife called back, not the "supervisor") and start all over again charging double the price. Sometimes, not often, the husband was there recognizing his mixtake and I didn't charge extra; I'm a very proud plumber, not an asshole. Amazing show, greetings from Toronto.
As a DIYer , I cannot believe a DIYer would make such mistakes. Amazing. You first find out what you need to know. Luckily my uncle was a plumber and as a school kid used to watch him in the holidays on jobs. He taught me lot but I have never sweated lead pipe joints as he did. He was born 1908 so gives you an idea of ages and I cannot believe what he would have said about condensing boilers. He preferred solid fuel , wisely.

But the truth is much of this work was actually done by ‘professionals’ trading as plumbers - ripping people off.

that flue hole, that "air gap" ... That thing is a straight up castle window :D
Looks like the towel rail is leaking as well because of the jug underneath.
You ain't seen nothing yet ... the horrors I see (and often end up redoing) here in South Africa, I have no words.
Jeremy Corbet 😂 what about Ronnie!
Top Doggo!
these bring hope AND despair to me, as I've seen similar on jobs :D
