The new G14 is lighter and more powerful for the same price, so you're only 1/3 there
Playing at like half resolution on Apex would've been a lot better because you'd get more than double the fps in most cases. At that size, half resolution won't look bad at all.
Mr Judd, please do a video on these "gaming controllers" that work on PC. I am laptop person and way back in the day I played NFSU2 and FIFA on laptop but with controllers but today im not sure what to look for that would work
Currently watching this on my HP Elitebook, 4GB of RAM, 444GB of storage and on mini player because of the enture screen has gone bad. This video has shown me the next choice for my laptop once Im financially able. Thank you average consumer...

Buddy mid settings 60 fps 😢 I get over 180 with a i7 2600 and a 1650 ... you need to make sure you on charge and on performance mode to get the most out of a laptop

Honestly, who needs it to be that thin. I'd rather it be thick enough so that the battery will last at least a day and not throttle due to heat.

not in this specific scenario. The 4050-4070 cards are limited by Nvidia to 90-100w (Jarrod's video), any more power doesn't increase performance at all. Therefore even the very slim new G16 is just as powerful and has no heating issues compared to the thickest 16" and even 18" gaming laptops using those GPUs. It's not util the 4080 that there is a big difference because those thicker ones get benefits from increasing wattage to the GPU.
I just ordered the ASUS - ROG Zephyrus G16 (2024) 16" OLED 240Hz Gaming Laptop - Intel Core Ultra 9 - 16GB LPDDR5X - GeForce RTX 4070 - 1TB SSD - Eclipse Gray which cost $1699.99 thinks to the sale at best buy. Should I keep that when it arrives or should I return and get the lenovo yoga pro 9i from bestbuy when it's available or should I go with the g14 with 4060 or the hp omen with 2060? I can't afford more than $1699.99.

for a low wattage 60 series card, no, you're paying a huge markup for the slimness, the more powerful new g14 is even lighter at the same price
But it's not the lightest, the new G14 is significantly lighter and more powerful, this one is just thinner.
It does look nice except for that pudding looking keyboard..

This laptop is so overpriced and seriously not worth it, its best to pay a premium and go for the G14 2024, I've used both and I stand by this statement
to just be clear, the underpowered GPU is what breaks any sense of value for this laptop.
G14 overheats like crazy, checked one out at BestBuy 78C idle
@@42xzero I think it'll get better as time goes on. Intel meteor lake is still really expensive right now and I think that's a lot of what drives up the price of this laptop

@@shukvirgrewal6968 it is cheaper, like you said (especially if you look for the 2023 version) 2023 version has upgradable ram too so you aren't stuck at 16gb if you get a lower model. that model also goes up to a 4090 instead of 4070. They have similar battery life. The components aren't power limited (unlike the omen which gives you less performance overall) so the g14 runs hotter out of the box but you can switch profiles to get it to run cooler when you aren't gaming. (personally I'd rather have a hotter laptop that i can turn down to make it cooler vs a laptop that already runs cool but is stuck with less performance) Speakers & build quality are also better on the g14. overall my personal pick is the 2023 G14, as it gives the most performance vs the 2024 G14 & the Omen while only being a few mm thicker.
60wats not worth it on gpu….only reason for buying this is portability with casual gaming….g14 did it better

HP Omen DISASTER: Omen 16" purchased June 2022 - screen failed in less than 5 months! Replaced under warranty - After HP replaced the screen on the 25th January 2024 - the THIRD SCREEN has just failed right now tonight - yes THIRD SCREEN!
A laptop screen that lasts THREE LOUSY MONTHS - HP is absolute junk and is not capable of treating customers in good faith. We are a charity and are not just able to replace a laptop because you are not capable of providing a product with reasonable quality - ANY quality. I have never had so much trouble from any tech product before.
