- This 12 year old gaming pc has never been cleaned and it's in my store today to get the data transferred to a new computer . It's cool seeing this old tech still running. Even out-dated technology like this 11 year old video card is still more powerful than a lot of integrated laptop GPU's.

Customer ended up having me install a 1TB NVMe and transfer data to there, so it worked out in the end!

customer could have done it themselve, im only 12 years old xd, and i transfered data from a old ssd to a new ssd when i had to upgrade my ssd, took like 2 hours to do, and i also had to upgrade ram to 32gb because 8gb was kinda getting low

I still have a 2 tb hard drive from some time between 12 and 15 years ago. Same size as my new 2tb SSD.

Fun fact, I live in Australia and lived pretty rural, and had a big tower PC I never cleaned. One day when I went to turn it on it red screened which confused me. I took it to the shop to get it checked out and they informed me that spiders had formed a colony inside of the computer.

I always forget to change the thermal paste on my CPU cooler. Last computer I had stopped working right all the time, and that's probably what caused it. 12 years without changing the thermal paste.
It's still somewhat usable. Only issue is that there's intermittent connectivity issues with the SATA bus.
That’s impressive! This thermal paste was so stuck I had to actually pry the CPU off the heatsink
@@SalemTechsperts maybe I should record myself taking it off. The thing is sitting in my office waiting for recycling. I could probably also find out if twenties me sucked at applying thermal paste. Hahaha.

Built mine about 13 years ago, first gen i7 860,still use it to this day, does everything I need, no gaming, I've had to put I new cooler on a few years ago and replaced the hard paste, SSD etc.. Been great.
I have to say, some of the older parts are built far far better compared to today, the new stuff almost looks cheapo in comparison.
