One of the most under rated Final Fantasy's of all time
Low key underrated. Imagine something like the gambit system in FF15 so you could control actions of your other units better, how much would it improve battle system, if Prompto didn't always ran into a horde of enemies.
It’s just too good for some people to understand, the battle system is the best and better than the usual FF thing walking around and oh no it’s time to battle and do victory thing and look at the results and go back everytime it’s so repetitive, FFXII feels relatable just walking around and find some animals or monsters around you and appear in front of your face and being hostile towards you like something that would have happened in real life like you’re were alone in the middle of the forests or something like that

@@FlyingFistOfJudanah, 13 just borrowed tropes from earlier games and had little identity of its own. 12 has always been the underrated entry because it still stands on its own
At least with the Zodiac version they did give us new boss themes to listen to for certain bosses.

kinda surprised yiazmat uses this theme instead of it's own special made one.
I kind of like it. It's like it's telling you, all those times you've fought bosses... Do it one more time.
XII is similar to XI.
-The music
-The Homepoint looking things in the cities.
-Some of the enemies.
-Humes
-Jagd and the desert "City" looks like Altepa & Rabao.
-The combat feels very XI.....even though it is not the same.
-Only people who truly played XI may get where I am coming from.
-Some never played XI, and say "They are nothing alike!!!!!"

@@SokiHime Screw that. The combat system felt like I was either totally detached from the party and more or less doing nothing, or I had to micromanage every second in real time. _Inconsistent_ would be my definition of it. I get that they wanted to use "real time active combat," but that just.. REALLY doesn't work well in Single Player unless the engagement level is completely consistent with each fight. And you know what does that job better? _TURN-BASED!_
@@calanon534 How did you extrapolate from "I wish 12's combat had more going on" to "I wish it were action-combat"?
I like both turn based FFs and the recent action FFs.
I meant I wish there were more to combat than the extremely basic combat that FF12 has. Techniques should be job abilities from older FFs as well, like Jump.
12's combat is flat, and a huge amount of it is based on preparation.
More focus should be on being in combat, rather than only on prepping for it.
And I'm saying all of this as someone who's played the game for well over 1,000 hours, and have a run on the FF12 leaderboards on Speedrun at 8hrs 12mins.
Clearly not someone who hates FF12.

The beginning of the original version is so much better. The drum-roll has more emphasis and the melody shines through with more subtilty. The harp flourishes sounds brighter.

Ya but my dude :56 hit's way harder than the original. The kicks are way more impressive. I see what you mean about the original's harps flourishing more though. But I just think this is a superior version. The tempo is more consistent and the kicks are more impactful.
@@cloudparter the tempo hasn't changed. A lot of the new arrangement sounds crisp but it lacks depth and their minute durations fall short, and so it all comes off as lacking breath or stunted. The horns feel like an echo of what they used to be. While the new snare drum flourishes in the climax are exciting to listen to for their clarity, but they feel singular, compared to how they used to sound, which felt like a company or at least a dozen drums beating together. Overall, the percussion and base are weaker. And because of that, the strings come off as thread bare even though they sound sharper. And towards the end, the stuttering of the strings during the transition back are jarring to the ears; not terrible, but strange. The point of a transition is to ease us back and loop into the beginning, but the stuttering strings are just excessive.
The older version is superior. Hell even the FFTA2 rendition of this boss theme is better than this, even if it is rather over the top.

@@jessypougnaud9916 It’s funny that in all reality, Vaan is probably the closest Final Fantasy character that resembles my personality and somewhat life to an extent (I had to leave home at 18 with nothing and grow up fast; ended up taking care of others too along the way and vise virsa ); just that it didn’t work out for me.
It hurts knowing he is so hated, feels very similar. Though I always loved how in the end he didn’t need anyone else to be happy, or even need to reach the end in general. Just someone trying to be content and accepting of life.
@@bradyking4299 Same. Out of all the FF protagonists, he was the only one I'm able to relate to -- I've always wondered what it'd be like to be swept up in a great, big adventure. I can't imagine leading one myself so I'm really glad they decide to present it in Vaan's point of view.
To me Basche Baltheir, Fran and Ashe are the main characters, sadly Fran took the bench and the other 3 are my main party.

Nope, all your characters get LP for your licenses but not experience points. Just going to bump the other 3 up quickly later on

Nope. For whatever dumb reason they made reserves get no exp.
But they get license points anyway.
And considering in this version where using all the characters is even more important with being limited to one and later two smaller license boards per character at a time.

Character's base stats are practically irrelevant. Ff penelo dies easily, that means that you messed up her job/gear/etc
Bruh 😂 Penelo is literally the best mage character along with Ashe, you can make her white mage or red battlemage or black mage and she can always heal your entire party
Since everyone's hating on Vaan, Do you know who would Balthier be choosing to be a real fighter by his side? Well, He will choose Squall over Vaan. Think about that!

That is not by accident. Star Wars was a HEAVY inspiration for a lot of FFXII.
