Bonjour Brian and hello from France. Could you share your opinion between the generation 2 V8 and the generation 3 V8 Your video of the 2014 V8s was fabulous. Does the gen 2 really has aged in comparison ? Merci
Bonjour! My English is better than my French on this subject. What I find interesting about the modern Continentals is that they all have aged exceptionally well compared to their contemporaries. They're well made, well finished, have an abundance of power, and drive like a grand tourer should. The only area the older cars lack is with modern infotainment.
@@BrianMakse thank you for your reply. I do agree with you the infotainment is showing its age. That gen 2 is such an awesome car. Can't afford the 3rd gen so I'll stick to my 2014. Take care Brian and thanks for your great work.
This will be my next car to cruise Monaco and Nice (and race a bit the mountainsides) 👌🏻🤤 This is truly the best car of ALL worlds! Luxury, sportiv, cabrio... what competition is out there at this level for this price? 🤷🏻♂️💪🏻
As a Brit I would also pronounce the letters t and i in Continental and the word coupe should be said coopay. This is because it is the French word for cut and in France the e has an accent over it which denotes that it is to be sounded. Good video and yes if I win the lotto next week this is my first purchase.
Spectacular paint-job, color, interior and camera work. I wish today's cars that uses the audio system to pump fake engine sound to the interior could be 'on demand' other than forced. I would have mine switched off. Even more so in a Bentley. @brian makse, how cool is cool in your location? How effective was the neck heater?
@@BrianMakse yeah! I'm doing as many wood burnings of photographs of tornadoes! I've currently done over 220 wood burnings of almost every photograph taken of a tornado from 1884 to 1993 and still going strong!
@@dennispolyblank8428 I can't tell one Android phone from another, so I'm the last person to ask. I don't look for it, but I don't remember Android Auto in my last Bentayga. All I know is that Continental shares some architecture with Panamera. And that iPhones are better!
In day to day use, no one would notice a difference in dynamics between the two. If they do, it’s pure hyperbole. And automotive journalists are good at that!
@@BrianMakse Yes I did. I've been at the track when both V8 and V12 Aston's were present. The consensus was that the V8's sounded better. But on one day a fellow had his 599 GTO on the track. I have to admit that V12 exhaust note was intoxicating. Bordering on an act of violence.
Probably a good thing-the reason the newer Bentleys are pretty reliable (for a British car) is because their major components are sourced from volume manufacturers (Porsche, VW) and the components have been put through their paces and are more widely available.
Brian Makse 2013 and a 2016 didn't make my self clear English is not my first language, too expensive to repair and even service ridiculous for a $500 oil change,no! My wife has a 2011 Lexus looks new never had a single issue new tires and a battery and from a distance can't tell the difference in looks and my men change the oil $30!! In the 2015 the batteries died and you can't unlock the truck without taking the back seat out and taking a rod to snake inside and unlatch the trunk, sweet!!? No?
Brian Makse well then they must have improved them 90% because I have heard this about them from friends from 2004 models to date of course not the 2020 haven't had enough drive time yet. Are you going to also maintenance fees are now reasonable and repairs? Someone else suggested if I can't afford maintenance and repairs then maybe I should buy Ford Fusion? Afford has nothing to do with it I just don't feel comfortable when I feel I am being ripped off by supposedly the number one car manufacturing in the world.
Lightning Farron so by your standards then spending $500 for an oil change is fine as long as you make $200,000 a year? Thats the way peasants think how about you go online buy the filters for $100 oil for a $100 and have your men in my case Mexicans change it for $200? Such a beautiful car!! Looks like a gods chariot made out of a giant ruby with seats made out pearls from the depths of the ocean

It’s great, actually, should have showed that. Two of us traveled with four bags in the trunk easily.
230 litres is the official number. Had to fact check that today.

Great Review Brian. Is Bentley working on adding Android Auto?
I’ve never asked, but I doubt it. Porsche IIRC is Apple only because 80% of their customers are iPhone users.
@@BrianMakse But Audi supports Android and the Bentayga shares the basic platform of the Q7 I believe.

@@BrianMakse they are? (scratching my head) LOL
Brian if money is not an object would you go home with W12 or V8 ?
W12 for the power over the small improvement in dynamics.that the V8 offers. You really can’t go wrong with either of them.

Flat or cross plane, I just prefer the sound of a V8.

@@pr33tu_ Yes. Although the W12 is a VW engine and it has been proven for over 15 years in the previous Continental and VW Phaeton.
That color is exquisite. What is the color name?
As I said in the piece, Cricket Ball.
Didn't see anything on the leg room or comfort for the rear passengers, had a Bentayga really didn't like it going to compare V8 or W12 GTC
Adults fit, but space is not generous.
