- This is the new 2020 Bentley Continental GT V8 and today it meets its elder, the 2007 Bentley Continental GT, which costs 49,995 CAD (37,950 USD), about 7 times less than the new one. Both are big luxury cars and they represent the peak of Bentley's finest coupe offering. So considering there's been 13 years of advancement since it hit the streets, can the old one stack up? I simply cannot believe that the 2007 is now a retro drive. I remember my mate having one but in 2006; one of the earlier models in the UK and it was a technological wonder. We used to go into the West End in London to heads turning and admiring looks.
Now watching this, I feel nostalgic for it, but where have the years gone? I must be getting old.

It looks too big the new grille. It's like when you shirnk an image on PowerPoint by height but not changing the length and it looks disproportionate.
The old one looks more like a Bentley whereas the new one comes closer to an Audi.
The comedy bit at the beginning was so good, i paused the video to like it and write down this praise.
Now I'm going to savour the rest of the video, with my cup of after-lunch coffee. Thanks guys.

What I love is that they don't be awkward for the sake of it with forced misty-eyed nostalgia. They do knock and brutalise the stone-age tech of the old Bentley like they should, and praise the hand-crafting in detail like they should.
And they heap praise and are visibly stunned by the New one. They're normal basically, lol

As the driver of a 2006 Continental Flying Spur (bought in 2015 with 56,000km on the odometer), they are NOT expensive to maintain as long as the owner is diligent in doing the regular maintenance. These are well put together cars and as Thomas pointed out, everything in the interior is well still rock solid and doesn't snap, crackle and pop like my 2011 Jag XJ. Interestingly, on my 2006 Bentley the headliner is starting to sag and the hood shocks are also in need of replacing, but these are minor (and well known) issues on an otherwise gem of a car.
I went and test drove a 2005 Continental GT recently because it seemed like a good car for weekend dates. It was actually a pleasure. Maintenance costs might get high with W12 engine, but the car is affordable overall. Decided to go with a Lexus LC 500 instead. Still recommend it from a driver’s standpoint.

I was never a big fan of the Continental's. They just looked bloated to me. But they hit the nail on the head this generation, the body lines they added look so good. That's just an amazing looking car.
These guys are the millennial answer to Top Gear. Just as awesome as that show used to be before they canned all the original hosts. Great job guys!

Great compare and contrast, guys! For what it’s worth, I actually prefer the styling of the older model (and if I came across one at that price I’d have to consider it - if I could afford it), but the interior of the 2020 model is exquisite. It’s hard to believe they came that far in just 13 years,
Holy moly what a grandeur and beautiful interior on the newer one. The Brits nailed the classy look as always (Aston, RR).
The newer aston exterior is so beautiful and Yes I think they nail that, unfortunately that is not the case with interior... It still looks like its from a 2005 thunderbird

As others have said I love your old versus new videos and especially when it comes to some of these high-end cars because they are so rare on the road that a 10 or 15 year old one compared to a brand new one doesn't register with the average person like when you did the wraith

The 2007 has held up well all things considered. I prefer the design of the new one though. I also like how the black walnut section of the slit finish trim shows the grain instead of just being piano black. I personally feel like the V8 would be more than enough, especially if you were brave enough to spend the money and tune it.
What a great channel. You tube started as people making amateur videos, and has in some cases, evolved into this: totally professional broadcast quality productions.
Very well done. The content is only exceeded by both hosts’ knowledge and banter.
It's the exaggerated rear haunches of the new GT that makes it, in my opinion, the best looking luxury car in production. Looks like they took inspiration from the 2006 Continental GTZ by Zagato.
This new GT is so handsome It actually passes for a classic car, and that's the highest praise I can offer because, let's be real, nobody will ever make a car prettier than an existing classic.

The spec on the new one’s interior was jaw dropping! I feel sad for people who get full black interiors on their Bentleys. They don’t get to appreciate the craftsmanship.

I was just checking out for used BMW 3 Series and 2019 Mazda 3s (Since they are both my dream daily as the normal person that I am), and the ones in my country ALL HAVE BLACK INTERIORS 🙂🙂 Do they even know how great cognac looks in the BMW or White/Red on the Mazda? 🙂
They also don't get to appreciate the obvious wear and tear, especially if children or pets are involved.

I drove a 2015 V8s and aside from the wheel and the tech in the center console it was exactly the same as the old one in the videos. The same family also had a 2018 S63 AMG with 4.0 v8. I preferred the AMG so much more. The new Continental GT looks amazing though.
Humorous, but informative and detailed car review. While I would love to buy something new, up to date, and shiny, I could only afford the older Bentley. But I would seek to restore the weak bits as much as possible. And it would be awesome (and not break the bank).

Good luck finding a stock NSX though. It will be hard and the old one would probably be more expensive if it's a bone stock one.

They should have compared the 2020 First Edition to a 2010 Supersports. The Gen 1 Supersports has a much better interior (looks fairly modern still) and the outside is much more aggressive and looks a lot more modern then the stock Gen 1 Conti. At $80k, you can have that, a 2019 G63 G-wagen, and a Huracan for the price of the 2020 Bentley....

My only teeny tiny point of criticism would be: I don't like the glossy finish of the wood decor. I prefer matte wood finish.

The scary part about an 07 Bentley is that any serious mechanical problem might effectively "total" the car. I'll bet parts are insanely expensive / unavailable.
You will never find anything parts in America and you will have to wait until the cows come to find a alternator or battery or clutch
