  • Serena Williams speaking French. In this reaction video, I am reacting to Serena Williams speaking French. She was invited to the French Show: C’est a vous! I was really impressed by the way she answered the questions in French. This French interview of Serena Williams is very inspiring! So confident! I admire her confidence more than anything, and I loved hearing her speak French. Thank you, Pearl. Serena looks gorgeous.

From the movie, Venus and Serena learned French German Italian and some Chinese when they were young. Their father knew they would be world champions and wanted them to be prepared to communicate. They had lessons and exposure.

The key to any language is being understood as opposed to not making little mistakes. A native level is so incredible that they can ignore little mistakes and get the main point. As long as you're understood little mistakes are irrelevant. I am moving to Paris this month and will focus on being understood. Will I make mistakes? Absolutely. Even natives make mistakes.

I've been waiting for this one... thanks for doing it. I think she speaks on her own. She has spoken after winning a few French tennis matches.

Serena has had an apartment in Paris for years. I don't really believe that she spend much time there. She has always spoken French at her after match press conferences in France. When she's in Italy she speak Italian.

This was a good one! I’ve never seen her speak French nor did I know her coach was French because I’m not much of a sports person lol. But she’s famous enough that I know her husband and that they now have a daughter! So that was cute to see her talk about kids from before💗. I love how you tied her fearlessness in French into her athletic mindset of going for it too, that makes so much sense! As I said sports are not my thing usually but this piece of advice I’ll definitely take with me. I want so much more of these videos lol, I love them , thanks for sharing😍

I'm learning the french language right now. I am a beginner and I can memorize some words and put them in a sentence however, my problem is learning how to speak it. I have a down south accent "southern" and I find it extremely challenging to speak the words from my throat.

For famous people who are well traveled or opera singers, I think it's easy to learn another language. But how can a black girl from the USA learn when NO ONE around is interested in French? Around here, people are only interested in learning Spanish. Any advice?

@@Star-wd5en it's like tu vs. vous ... So better learn both conjugations. Either way you will be understood... I'm an Anglo-Canadienne so we learn enough to get by when we head over to the Francophone regions.

Why is it amazing that an American tennis player can speak a bit of French? The important point is that so few Americans bother to learn other languages. It is called "arrogance".
