I've been to Bitondos and did not like the pizza. I do remember it being dry. They are more famous for their panzo's actually. BTW, the reason the pizza is so 'tight' is because of the lack of sauce. It is over-rated in my books.

That's a solid score. Last time I had it I thought that there wasn't enough sauce either. If this was 20 years ago this pizza would be like a 9, as the pizza game in Toronto was very weak. But there definitely isn't enough sauce and there's also a weird taste in the pizza as well when I had it. 7.5 was pretty generous, thought he would've given like a 7.1 or 7.2. I gotta chime in: 20 years one way or the other doesn't turn a 7.5 into a 9, or a 9 into a 7.5.
Maybe 7 & 8-level pie is more accessible up there nowadays, which is cool, but a 7.5 is a 7.5 in Dave's world.
9's are reserved for "people should drive 3 hours to experience this" pizza, not "this is definitely where to eat if you live here" mid-seven pizza. Just my opinion, but I think the scale is the scale.

It's a thin crust. The dough is almost like a pastry dough, and the cheese is super bitey. That might have to do with the dariy industry in that area. 7.5 ... you can go to Little Caesars and get a pizza that looks exactly like that, tastes exactly the same if not better ... Dave would rate it 3.9

That's what I thought. My ranking is 1. NOB; 2. FMIF; 3. Badiali; 4. Libretto; 5. Bitondo; 6. Superpoint; 7. Maker -- there is also Conzo which I have yet to try and a few other places.
Bitondo for me is very football style pizza and up Dave's alley. Solid pie, but can be quite dough-y. FMIF and Badiali are more new school NY style similar to Best Pizza or L'Industrie, very solid. NOB is amazing and would be right at home in NYC tbh.

Davey is a man of body language and subtle hints. Without the obligatory shoulder shrug and just a couple of quiet "huhs", you could anticipate that this would not be ranked in the upper echelon of pizzas.
