My dad was one of the hard working Viets that made pizza at Massimo. He would drive the owner to and from work, go buy his espresso, drive him to his doctors appointments and basically everything that had nothing to do with his actual work. Then when my dad passed the guy didn’t even bother to show up to the funeral. The whole family at Massimos were total jerks. Fresca on the other hand is a great place and I’m glad they took over. Great margarita slices!
Thats tough. but at the same time. its easy to shit one someone. Like he wasnt a slave right? he did get paid and stuff. Like driving him around. he could say no. ill pass. i am a pizza maker. this isnt my job. Not really fair to accept it, get paid.. and then complain afterwards. either agree the terms, or dont. But anyway what i do i know. maybe he was an ass etc. and i like the story about them opening up their own place and it being more succesful. cant hate on that
lol fuckin hell that story sure took a left turn
@@D0nKeY gotta put yourself in a immigrant shoes it wasn’t easy to find a job back then especially if you were from another country dude was mistreated plain and simple it’s not soft like today they could literally fire you for nothing and wouldn’t even think about it

"DAVE'S A KILLER!...HES A KILLER" - Slap Shot 1977. Literally could have asked Tie Domi and he would have known it
I was hoping someone would answer the question because I was curious! Thank you!
I couldn't believe, in Canada, there wasn't someone immediately quoting all of Slapshot after hearing that quote
“Dave’s a mess!” Haha
Yea sir! 100%
Daves a mess lol
The fact the Toronto pizza reviews are still coming is crazy got so many new spots to try now 🔥👏🏽
The Wife and I are visiting for the first time in about 9 days. We keep switching which one we want to try. Lol

@@adilrahman1204 okay and…
@@adilrahman1204 tbh their slices are better than their full pizzas
Slap shot is the killer line. “Dave’s a killer!! Dave’s a mess”
I think Rodney Dangerfeild says a line like that in a different movie as well, except it's " the Kids a killa". I could be wrong, just rings a bell. Slap Shop is an all time great.
@@oisaux25 i just commented rodney bc I thought that too.. weird how shit like that sticks in our heads, he was way before my time so idek how the fuck i know that

For those who don't know, Domi has the most fights in NHL history. Back in the day if you wanted to prove you're a tough guy... you fight Tie Domi everyone knew the rules.

@@tylerf3505 you got it
"DAVE'S A KILLER" it's from the movie Slap Shot. Funny enough, the guy's name is Dave lol. Dave wasn't known as a fighter but ends up getting into a scrap so his teammates keep repeating "he's a killer. Then Tie Domi comes along. Such good content
Yeah I was thinking SlapShot
he initially said danny, because its from caddyshack
Daves a Mess is the next line
Just posted this, should of read the comments first.
I'm pretty sure he was referring to Swingers.
Gotta say, as someone who frequents Fresca, you gotta go for the slices here. Their pies just aren't as good as their big slices. The amount of crispiness and thin crust just hits you in a way that the pies don't. Also their slices are so cheap compared to the newer pizza joints in Toronto. The green stuff there is something you'll find at some Toronto pizza spots (King Slice for example). It's a killer combo of garlic / oregano and oil. But don't plan on kissing anyone after it. I personally think this rates higher than 7.4. But happy to see him visit Toronto and Fresca.
That is outrageous. There is no undercarriage or crunch. This is a 5.6.
Mark u nailed it
@@adilrahman1204 You should try actually reading the comment before replying to it. He is saying Fresca is known for the slices because they're cheap and come out with the perfect crisp.
@@adilrahman1204 it’s impossible for you or anyone else to rate a pizza based on a video. Stfu.
I agree a hundred percent. They're my favorite spot for slices, I'm always so disappointed they're not open late though when I'm drunk. I distinctly remember they used to be open late, not sure what happened.

These special appearances are giving Toronto the label of the best reviews to date!
Nothing will ever beat the New Haven Saga, but yeah these are the best in a couple years for sure
@@Aaron-fb1pq New Haven and Brooklyn are otherworldly for Pizza
New Haven is the powerhouse, but Toronto (and surrounding area) seems to be a very consistent area with a high volume of choices. Quantity with still a high quality.
When I was a kid, Tie Domi played in Binghamton and every time he was on the ice (without fail) fists would fly.
In Italy they would throw New York and New Haven pizza on the ground.
Who would’ve thought that Toronto, or anywhere in Canada for that matter, would not only have great pizza, but a glut of great pizza? This Toronto trip has been strangely educational and enlightening and will go down in history.
No surprise. Nearly a million Italians live in Toronto.
If you ever get to Windsor, try a pie from Antonino's or Armandos. Windsor-style pizza is a thing and it's amazing!
The jar of oil, herbs and garlic that you can just brush all over your pie/slice really makes this place stand out. Killer spot

Slapshot reference and a Tie Domi cameo? This Toronto series just keeps on giving!
I can guess Dave’s score every other day yet I can never pick the right lottery numbers. 😂
Wow.. You and everyone else who watches... Noob.

The Caddyshack reference ranks up there with some of Dave’s brilliant Office and Seinfeld references. Impressive how he comes up with them.
i think everyone has their own geeky references right. things you love and have seen a lot. Thats not impressive. he can literally pick whatever he remembers.
its not like someone quizzes him or asks him a specific reference and if he knows it. he literally can choose the one he thinks of that moment. or remembers.
I love when the full music is played in the intro. I love whistling along to it.

Tie Domi is LEGEND! As a Buffalo sports fan, we had Rob Ray on the Sabres, and I always respected the Maple leafs across the lake, and Rob Ray and Tie Domi fought every time we played them! They are the 2 most legendary fighters EVER in the NHL!

@@chadwellington2524 Killer Bro! Sabres are my home team, but Leafs are always #2! I grew up on the south shore of the lake, about 20 mins from the Lewiston Queenston Bridge. Ive always said i'm an honorary Canadian 1)because my grandfather grew up in Kitchener, and played for the Canadian army team in the late 30's-early 40's and made the leafs practice squad for 1 year, 2) living in that northwest corner of Niagara County, we got all the Toronto TV and radio stations!, LOVE Rush, Triumph, the Hip, the Trews, and ESPECIALLY The Sheepdogs! Plus we went on MANY fishing trips all over Ontario and Quebec growing up. Partied in the Niagara Falls bars in Ont. cause the drinking age was 19, ha...and went to The Beer Store and brought trunkloads back. This is the best traditional pizza in Toronto. No dumb frills, not overpriced just simple and delicious.

So I pause the video to post about the "Dave's a killer!" line from Slapshot and 20 other people beat me to it.. Everyone that knew the Slapshot reference is awesome & you have my respect.
Come on Prez, how do you not invite Domi to score the pizza
Still waiting for Davey to actually go to Italy to do some pizza reviews, everybody knows that would be interesting.
It's fancy pizza, not really his style lol
Everybody knows he already has
He'd be throwing around high 6's and 7's because he doesn't like Italian style pizza. It definitely wouldn't be objective
Tie domi! Nice. I was thinking 5.9 to 6.2 on that slice
