Fortnite should've made the kicks show your contrail from behind while sprinting (will also give contrails more use) and slash the prices of the 1000 vbuck shoes by 200 there problem solved and it only took me 2 minutes

As it is now. Not all skins support Kicks. But some should never get the support. Jack Sparrow and Terminator getting them. 1. Makes them super goofy. 2. They don't look right 3. Some characters shoes are way too big for the skin at hand. Siren for example. She is wearing heels. Slap kicks on her and it looks super awkward. I also hate to say it. Most of the kicks are really...really ugly as hell. 1,000 for a pair of kicks that either. Make them look goofy, Too big, wrong color, ruin the look of the skin. The only ones that even remotely work is the icons. Because they are real people and fit them better. Most of the time. Rap princess and Ice Spice. Two different shoe sizes. Like the portions are wrong. In other words. I won't be buying them or putting them on.
I could understand if they were half the cost and were fully customizable, given that the colorways don't match 95% of the skins in the game. Even then, I don't even see the point in this. Either epic lowers the price or they remove shoes entirely (i say this because there's skins with high heels and skins with giant feet like the doom guy, and i dont believe epic will try this hard for some shoes)

You can't really call it a scam if people are voluntarily buying them. If people are crazy enough to spend that much on a virtual shoe, then it's them that's too blame. Some fortnite fans are far too obsessed with cosmetics. If people want cheaper cosmetics, don't buy overpriced one's... but people do, which is why epic game's does this. You can't really blame them for wanting to make money.
Fortnite is becoming far too commercialised, but if the fans keep supporting it, epic will keep doing it.
As it is now. Not all skins support Kicks. But some should never get the support. Jack Sparrow and Terminator getting them. 1. Makes them super goofy. 2. They don't look right 3. Some characters shoes are way too big for the skin at hand.
Siren for example. She is wearing heels. Slap kicks on her and it looks super awkward. I also hate to say it. Most of the kicks are really...really ugly as hell.

The only ones that even remotely work is the icons. Because they are real people and fit them better. Most of the time.

I could understand if they were half the cost and were fully customizable, given that the colorways don't match 95% of the skins in the game. Even then, I don't even see the point in this. Hopefully these go the way of toys and pets and become completely forgotten about (for slightly different reasons).
I played 3 games of FN the week it came out, decided the building wasn't for me. Tried it again the week ZB came out & got myself addicted. This year has been tough to be interested but especially the week wrecked came out. Bored of back bling's. So I don't think kicks are going to help even IF they were free!

Kicks being in the battle pass I'd accept, since them being part of a pass that has more inherent value than just a pair of digital shoes is fine. I do like the idea of kicks, as Piccolo running around in air jordans is just perfect. But it's actually strange that they price them like they're the fortnite equivalent of designer shoes, I get they're nikes but if I can't wear them in real life I better be getting that shit for free

Virtual shoes should be worth 200 v bucks flat, virtual instruments should be 400/500, virtual vehicles should be 500/800, individual songs should be 100/200.
part of me is starting to wonder if this is intentional, release a brand new type of item for outrageously expensive prices (remember 3k PLUS vbucks for some cars on launch??) and then reasonably price them later down the line to capitalize on new item hype / FOMO.
