    I'm a total beginner learning on this model louet. I am having this exact problem from the get go with no one to teach me in person. I was meditating this morning and this problem kept entering my thoughts. Eckhart finished his teaching and I looked at my you tube home page and this video appeared. You demonstrated exactly what I needed to know. It's either a Christmas miracle or you are destined to become my spinning wheel guru. You know I subscribed and will be back for more tutoring. The universe thanks you and I wish you the happiest holiday possible. Spokane, Wa.

    This is such an i formative video! Especially for people who are just starting out. You even explained the hook set up on the flyer. I literally thought they messed up making mine lol. Now i know they are supposed to be NOT exactly opposite each other🙂Great info on the settings to help with controlling your fiber to magically turn it into yarn. I am surprised you don't have many many more views. Thank you for helping us beginners 💖

    Years ago I found an S17 at a garage sale for $5. At the time I was a new mom and not in the frame of mind to learn something new. I'm finally ready to try using it and this information is soooo valuable to me as I learn how it works and what I need to do to use it! I'm so excited to learn to spin! Thank you!

      Suzi Q awww thank you...I'm blushing over here! If you have anything else you'd like me to demo I'd be more than happy to entertain requests 😉 How are you and your wheel getting along?

      Dashing Mouse Designs well.... i am getting better, slowly lol. But it was squeaking and i asked my husband for help and he told me you don't grease/oil this wheel. I knew you did this vid and i remembered you saying what you can and definitely can't. That is very important to know and i'm glad you talked about it. You explain things so well. I am surprised there are not more people watching. I would share but i have no friends. Just a little family. I will be asking for more help i'm sure😊 You're awesome!

    I took my Louet S15 apart to paint the drive wheel, and while I was careful to put it back exactly as it was - it hasn't run nearly as smoothly since. I am concerned I may have mixed up some small detail. The assembly videos don't go over everything, could you help?

      Well I can try. Diagnosing problems long distance is pretty tricky. Can you describe how your wheel is different now than it was before? Or better yet post a video showing the issues? I also recommend that you contact Louet directly via the form on louet.com . They really know their stuff, and they are all super nice!

    What did you use to finish the wood on the wheel?

    • @Dashingmousedesigns
      @Dashingmousedesigns  5 лет назад

      We did a lot of work on this wheel because we wanted to decorate it. If all you want is to protect the wood, there are lots of easy options - stain, varnish, danish oil, etc.. Before we put the wheel together we gave it a quick sanding and stained the wood with an inexpensive stain from Home Depot. Then we did the wood burning and painting, sprayed with a polyurethane sealant to protect our decorations, and finally assembled. I definitely recommend finishing the wood before assembling to make it easier to get all the pieces coated evenly.

    You mentioned forums that you looked at regarding the S17. What forums did you find had good information about the use and care of S17s. The booklet that comes with the wheel does not have a lot in it.

      Brenda Blair I mainly use the fora on Ravelry. It's free to join, and there are many groups with excellent information, both specific to Louet wheels and about spinning in general.
