I was very lucky in junior high, high school and even college to have friends that liked/loved anime. Thank goodness I had those friends back then because I don’t think I would have been brave enough to show my love for anime and manga. I’m very lucky and grateful to have my husband who has a love and passion for anime as I do (we have our own little family and yes our baby will probably be like us in some way). For those of you who feel alone and don’t think you’ll make friends or find that one that’s special for you, I send good vibes and know I support you and you will attract those friends and that special person. Don’t give up your love and passion for anime. People suck and life is hard enough living, do what makes you happy.
EeE damn. Cingrats on the family tho havi g a family that loves anime is the best thing ever xD, sure hope my wife or gf loves anime iF not then ima make em love it heh
O dear my friends were head over heels for that. Everytime i walked into the room, all I would hear was "Have you guys watched the newest riverdale episode?" And I would just be sat in the background being like: "Notice me and I will turn to dust."
For us Filipinos, they don't give a crap when someone announces themselves as weebs, but admitting you are watching anime cartoons after 4th grade is a deathwish for your social life. The worst part is, when ordinary people saw you watching or playing any type of anime, they'll call it "Naruto" even tho it's not Naruto related.
That's honestly surprising, I am pretty open that I am a weeb to my classmates and they never mock me for it, some if not most of my classmates have probably watched one or two series, and I even know one guy who has an anime wallpaper, the one's who don't watch anime just don't give a fuck, and that was 10th grade, we also had a weeb teacher so maybe that helped a bit?
The reason why I'm so into anime is because my parents literally only let me watch 5 specific cartoons my whole life. By the time I was 13 I had had it. My friend recommended a certain anime and I loved it. I looked for more anime. And more. And more. Anime was just so different from the cartoons I watched. And anime was just so easy to find for free. I probably wouldn't be so into anime if my parents let me have more variety in TV as a kid because if had other shows to watch I wouldn't have had to look for anime.

Back in middle school, I too was a weeblet. Unlike this story the only time I really got picked on about liking anime was from my friends who would loudly announce in the hallway “HEY, YOU WATCHING HENTAI?” Originally I’d get embarrassed and deny it completely, but at some point I had decided that I was tired of the bit and would stop it at the next opportunity that arose. The next time my friend made the accusation I replied with “yeah, you want to watch with me?” Ever since that day my friend has called it an absolute chad move and referred to me as a chad ever since

@Rugie 모모 i didnt use discord and this avatar is my waifu
For us Filipinos, they don't give a crap when someone announces themselves as weebs, but admitting you are watching anime cartoons after 4th grade is a deathwish for your social life. The worst part is, when ordinary people saw you watching or playing any type of anime, they'll call it "Naruto" even tho it's not Naruto related.
Dragon ball at ghost payter saken kaya hindi nila sinasabi na naruto
i can feel u, they will call it naruto whatever anime its
CC exactly literally any anime ....frick those normies
That's honestly surprising, I am pretty open that I am a weeb to my classmates and they never mock me for it, some if not most of my classmates have probably watched one or two series, and I even know one guy who has an anime wallpaper, the one's who don't watch anime just don't give a fuck, and that was 10th grade, we also had a weeb teacher so maybe that helped a bit?

Same
My sister and BFF got me into anime.
Same
Same
(The story of my life) ok but same
The reason why I'm so into anime is because my parents literally only let me watch 5 specific cartoons my whole life.

Anyway. Getting more serious now:
The Anime and Manga Community has ISSUES and PROBLEMS. Intense ones.
Cavemen Mindset 'Sex Sells' and a freaking bunch of Fanservice are ruining scenes or even ruining content or even ruining whole Franchises - to say it simplified.
I don't want to write a huge text here, but seriously, there are Problems.
Right now , there is a Ban Wave.
And even though it IS misdirected in many instances, i still think it's good to happen, cause the Wave also hits things to be banned.
Cause there's so many sick Content that SHOULD be banned.
Yet, i see uneducated Anime and Manga Fans saying nonsense like 'All bans are always bad! Don't ban anything ever!"
Wow, so stupid.
