Good first reaction 👊🏽⚡️The comment that their music could be in an anime has merit because Su-metal (Suzuka Nakamoto) the lead singer was in a band called ‘Karen girls’ before she joined Babymetal. Karen girls did songs for an anime, “Zettai Karen Children”

They were officially introduced on the 2010 October 10. An experiment that got out of hand. Formed by
Su-metal (Susuka Nakamoto 12 years Vocalist ) also known as Queen-Su or true metal goddess.
Moametal (Moa Kikuchi 11years Chorus)
Yuimetal (Yui Mizuno 11years Chorus ) does not appear in the last concert of 2017, his retirement is announced in 2018.
The musicians are known as Kami-Band (divine band or band of the gods).
They create their own Kawaii-metal genre.
Kawaii It is translated as tender, beautiful...., It is characterized by using everything that is considered tender pop, folk, rap, march,... everything that you cannot imagine, On a base of any metal.
The only thing you can expect...... Is the unexpected.
In Japan, minors under 15 years of age cannot go to concerts, which is why his first works are aimed at this audience, despite that, they reached a much larger audience.
Their first work titled "Babymetal" is a compilation of early hits with more youthful and adult themes, the album "Metal Resistance" is more youthful adult, still using hooks for minors, The "Babymetal Galaxy" is more adult, using genres from all over the world.

I see the song brought a smile to your face, in that case I've got good news, all their songs do! BABYMETAL has been going for 12 years now, started back in 2010. I recommend the song Megitsune (the official music video), it is quintessential BABYMETAL and it is one of their earlier works too. Many of their videos (official or not) get copyright blocked unless you put a logo or other effect over the video, maybe someone will comment with advice on that.
Honestly as long as video is public I don't care that much if it is monetized or not.. I do this cause I enjoy great music and comunication with you people💪🏿💪🏿. Thanks for sugestikn.. I will do my best and check out their other songs💪🏿
Good first reaction - and welcome to the BABYMETAL Galaxy. In their album coming out next March BABYMETAL have visited 10 different worlds ... I don't know if Discworld was one of them, if so maybe they will sing about the turtle - the Great Atuin - and the elephants.
None of their own songs have been used in any anime, please get that idea out of your mind. Su-metal, the lead singer, was in a group called Karen Girls' when she was 9 or 10 years old and they sang the songs for an anime called Zettai Karen Children, BABYMETAL no.
'Monochrome' is a beautiful song - but it is deep too. They never put out a lyric video before, I'm thinking they really want us to know what they are singing so we can decide what the song means (as ever it is open to interpretation of course and we will all have our own thoughts, which is not a bad thing) ... and you're right, the visuals on lyric videos are never like this, these mean something too.
From my starting point of almost complete ignorance I have been learning so much from comments under other reactions about Ragnarok and the Norse mythology being referenced and the general consensus is there are also many references to the bombing of Hiroshima (Su-metal's home town) and Nagasaki, even if it is not specifically about those tragic events.
The "monochrome firework" could be the bomb and the tree they used in the visuals throughout and that was finally shown in colour at the end could be the Hiroshima Peace Tree that survived the bombing as well as the tree of life from Norse mythology.
As ever BABYMETAL do leave us with a feeling of hope and optimism and the message that no matter how long the night, the morning will still come. Colour will return to the world.
xDeleilax and fedz_zone and others have provided you with some good basic info already, I will just add that BABYMETAL are one of the very best live acts on the planet, they have over 50 songs now and every one of them is different - virtually every metal genre and then they will mix in many other musical styles and genres with the metal, usually when you least expect it ... and you will have never seen or heard any other band quite like them.
You know why it sounds like an anime song? Because it's in Japanese, and other anime songs are in Japanese. They just use regular Japanese songs for their openings and endings.
And their young female voices...

BABYMETAL will join the Swedish band's 24 gigs. You are going to receive tons of information about BM from many fans in various countries. Their activities have been worldwide since 2014. In the latest world tours from June 2019 through March 2020 (prior to COVID), they performed live 20 times in USA (in 18 states), 19 in EU/UK/Russia (11 countries) and 1 in Taiwan in addition to 15 in Japan. Last year, they carefully completed 10 serial concerts here in Tokyo taking very strict countermeasures against infection. After some one-year hiatus since the completion, they announced their return to new activities including the tour with Sabaton. Please explore BABYMETAL more!

Yes Headbanger LIVE Legend 1997 (named in honor of lead vocalist Suzuka Nakamoto’s birth year) concert was actually performed on her 16th birthday 2013 backup vocalists Yui Mizuno and Moa Kikuchi (her friends and fellow classmates from Sakura Gakuin) were only 14 years of age).
BabyMetal is best enjoyed LIVE as this is where they shine. Their world class backing and touring band made up of the best session musicians in Japan called The Kami (or God Band).

Yeah such poor quality that 6.4 million viewers were suckered into enjoying it. 🤣
@@rah2287 It was the first one posted I think, it is the one that shows at the top of the search for Headbanger live Legend 1997 so it gets all the views ... and it has annoying skips or jumps in the audio, only plays at 720p at best and has an unnecessary extra minute or two at the end with nothing but crowd noise.
The other two I mentioned are exactly the same performance, but they play in HD at 1080p, do not have the audio hiccups and end after the performance without 2 minutes of nothing.
So yes, the first is poor quality in comparison, the other two are far better quality and far better for a reaction. Is there some problem with recommending better quality videos that only you know about?

Nice first reaction to the most unique band on the planet :) Sorry to tell you but Babymetal never made an anime song but they did cover the the title sing of Evangelion once xd.
Babymetal was formed in 2010 as a jpop/metal fusion band that merged kawaii (cute) jpop elements with heavy metal. Su-metal (lead singer), Moametal (scream and dance meaning choreographed dance and backup vocals) and former member Yuimetal (retired in 2018, also scream and dance) are the members of Babymetal. I am sure my good friends Grington300 or Jake will show up in a second and provide you all the details you need to know.
My suggestion, since you started with the latest Babymetal song from their coming album, check out “Divine Attack” that was released in October.

It's really atmospheric which I like. Divine Attack brought the hype and Monochrome brought beautiful vibes. The next single will bring the heavy vibes I hope.
Well, this song certainly shows that the few second snippets don't really spoil or give away the songs at all.
The chorus with the is catchy, but the drum riffs are the jam for me upon first couple of listens.
Since the snippets don't reveal the songs, I'm wondering if the five songs that will be released aren't gonna reveal the final album as a concept album, once released and listened to in full and in sequence, as most concept albums are meant to be listened to.
Being that this album is conceptual, and should probably be listened to as a whole and in order, this could be a fun slow-burn reveal to.

BABYMETAL team has been known to be fond of playing on words. I have noticed a trans-linguistic punning in this song : "から(kara) " for 色褪せてくから(Iroaseteku-kara=will be fading away eventually) is an auxilliary verb meaning “will eventually”, also serves simultaneously as a conjunctive particle referring to “therefore”. And in the actual singing the “karah” sounds exactly same as “color” for us Japanese. So that we hear the phrase 色褪せてくから(Iroaseteku-kara) as a triple-meaning one : will be fading away eventually / is fading away, therefore....→what color can we imagine the night sky? / fading away colors. You’ll find another similar trick in the later part of this song. Moreover, not so certain though, I guess they have prepared other trans-languaging wordplays : When I got hammered, “I don’t know what to say” sounded to me just like “あ、どの惑星？”(Ah dono wakusei？: Ah which planet？)....⇒ Even the bright star that was shining yesterday. And for ”You don’t have to say it “ I just heard as “色褪せて”(Iro asete : Colors vanished off). Anyway, besides enjoying amazing performances by BABYMETAL, it’s also fun to discover/guess BM team’s sophisticatedly prepared tricks.
