Welcome back to BabyMetal's metalverse 🦊🤘🌐
Monochrome is another beautiful track from this new album, it was the 2nd single released in November last year, later this year they released the Piano Version at "The First Take" surprising everyone with another stunning and beautiful one off version.
The lyrics got some Norse mythology reference and when the lyrics vid came out there were many theories around, later they said they were surprised about it and saying they just wanna give a hopeful song.

You can find a live compilation with footage from BabyMetal Begins The Other One - Clear Night, PIA Arena MM, Yokohama on April 2, MomoMetal first concert as an official member, you can notice SuMetal speaking to them in the middle section and giving that recognition, the other clips are taking from BM Returns The Other One, Makuhari Messe, Chiba in January 29.
They got this magical moment when performing live in every setlist they did throughout this World Tour.
The composer behind this song is the same one behind Karate, Rondo Of Nightmare, Kagerou, the arrangement of Megitsune and also behind Believing from this same latest album, you should really not miss those songs.

Would love to see you react to Babymetal's "Trilogy of Light" performance of 3 songs at their Legend M concert.
Fans interpret the three songs, Starlight Shine and Arkadia as the band's grieving the death of guitarist Mikio, as well as the sudden departure of singer Yui.
For context, the 3 girls had essentially grown up from the age of 10 singing together, and the Kami band were probably like brothers to them.

A couple different meanings of this song, one version is what you get. Another tells of witnessing the atomic bomb blast. (monochrome explosion- the visuals - no explanation needed). Other versions of this song ( live, One Take) you get something else out of each one.
The lyric video is great at giving you an idea of what the song is about (helps if you know where the singer was born)- wonderful graphics combined with the lyrics - but the live version is mindblowing - and the First Take version really puts the emotion over wonderfully - both must sees :)
I've always seen this song as an allegory, if that's the right word, for the atomic bombs dropped on the Japanese cities at the end of World War II. You notice the city in the beginning looks relatively normal, but towards the end is utterly devastated. There are so many other things that could stand in for the bomb itself descending and exploding. There's also a bleak wistfulness to the way the vocals are arranged, something so lonely, at least to my ears.
I think they interplay that theme with the one you picked up on, and wound the two around each other, quite deftly.
This interpretation is also supported by the fact that Su is from Hiroshima
would love to see you react to Counterparts, they have great lyrics and i think it’ll be fun to hear your comments/insight on them. For me, it’s definitely their song You’re Not You Anymore as it really has a place in my heart. Other than Counterparts, Casey is also an amazing band with some especially heavy back story behind it and they have such a beautiful soundscape on their newer tracks. I’ve been absolutely in love with Casey’s Puncture Wounds From Heaven lately

Some people say it's about the monochrome life after the atomic bombs dropped, then they seen color.
But I see the song as living in a monochrome life, lonely, without a person to love or be loved by, then when they meet that person, it brings color to their world, opening their eyes to the wider world.
Did the girl with the umbrella escape the fearful rain called "black rain" and see the rainbow-colored sky of hope? I am certain that the girl would have survived and seen the bright rainbow sky together with the "Aogiri Tree of Hiroshima.
Not sure if an umbrella protects from nuclear fallout...but lets hope🤗
The girl did survive. Su is a descendent of Hiroshima. The umbrella is the will to live.

no he is saying it could have been her grandmother or great grandmother, and in the aftermath of the bombing they used umbrellas to protect themselves from the nuclear rain that fell due to the weird weather effects caused by the huge amount of dust that was projected into the atmosphere@@onigiri9964
Nice reaction. Su was surprised how the fans took the lyrics of this song. She said she had a much lighter interpretation of them. Su is always looking on the bright side of things. With Moa at her side, it's easy to understand why. IMO Su likes the end of the song with the line Just Smile. ON tour right now that's all they seem able to do. Having too much fun during their live performances. Is that possible? Only the fox god knows as they say. LOL
In fairness to the fans, the first time we heard it was this lyric video and it's kind of dark. Knowing where she's from it was pretty easy to go there.
