Laura! Nonna's batter is to die for !!!! My Mother makes the flowers with egg first , then flour and fry. Not the best, but don't tell her (Thick Head). We are Italian but never made a batter with yeast. It is like ITALIAN TEMPURA!!! BELLA!!! Now I am thinking of doing Nonna's Batter with Shrimp, Clams, Mussels, etc. PS: The Zucchini Flower's came out the Best I have ever had.... God Bless
Lovely video, brings up so many memories! My grandmother used to prepare me zucchini flowers every summer (in the north of Italy, we just fry them in a lighter batter without any filling) Amazing!
in Greece we make them with feta cheese and fry them and also with a rice tomato and herb stuffing and then bake them in the oven and they are sooo yummy!

Hi Laura! I am from the south as we'll, but from Calabria. Every so often my dad (whom was born in Calabria) brings home a movie from Italy for us to watch. The other night he brought home a movie called Benvenuti Al
I did this the other day. But a little differently the batter is not with yeast and the zucchini flowers are so small here (I am in Sweden), and I used mozarella instead of ricotta. I must try it with ricotta. Thank you for a nice video 😍 Love that you cook with your Nonna!!! Interesting you mention that you are afraid of breaking the flowers. I too had that feeling.
They taste quite mild and due to theyr form, perfect for the sfuffing method. It's easy to find them in produce markets here in in Italy, especially in summer time.
