Yes totally accurate. Different bike but have a 22 KLR with a V Stream Mid level clear., parked the bike at work and burned the hell out of plastics under screen. Thought the wires under were getting fried, but was the magnifying effect. cool thanks
Most people keep their new bikes in a garage, shed or covered. We only ride a couple of hours at a time, so probably not a big deal, and you are correct it's not to leave your gloves over the dash when parked. Or at last I do.
I believe the damage on mine been from at a gathering or such. We ride out to lakes and hang out and such. I think an hour two of sun blasting it at just right angle at noon will do it....so yea...I toss my gloves up there.
I think you already installed the "dark smoke" windscreen, and the energy of sun rays wouldn't be so strong to cause the issue of damaging the dash/TFT screen. Unless you're using the transparent windscreen, the dark windscreen already filtrated most the light from the sun. Take easy. 😉
@@NoBSZone If you are really worried about the sun rays to damage your TFT dash screen, there are some screen protectors/films with UV protection function on the Ebay or Shopee.

@@NoBSZone is your windscreen tinted? I always use the dark tint. Maybe that makes a difference, maybe not, I'm not sure?

Gotta have that microfiber (multi purpose) clothe with you... learned the hard way with a triumph daytona.
That does help keep it nice clean also.
Anything helps to block the sun. I have this same melting happen on an Aprilia RSV4 and a Honda RC51
I rock a blacked out double for many of those reasons. Also keeps glare off the gages. Good pointers man!

Add UV tint to the screen. It will help but it’s not a cure. I live in South Florida and I agree 💯
I find tossing my gloves over the dash when parked is best, lol
I keep a microfibe with me on my bike that could help with that and are cheaper than gloves, i'd be more mad if my gloves got stolen 😭@NoBSZone

I have light smoke on so I can still see through it some.
