best cover artist on youtube imo. guitar playing and vocals are both always perfect, and I'm not sure everyone understands the work it takes to get this good.
What a beautiful melody, Just ole Don here from Hamilton NZ on my Wife's tablet-SUSAN, an' Iv'e been a guitarist for a long time (semi/professionally) it takes sooo much, just as you said But WHAT A BEAUTIFUL SONG, Honestly, just hauntingly beautiful, SOME guitarists like the ancient Trubidors tell stories in Their Songs, just like you did, Many Thanks 😢😢😢
George, this is just superlative. Please keep em coming. I've been playing guitar for a long time. I wear hearing aids, I have carpal tunnel, and sometimes I feel like giving up. Whenever I hear one of your arrangements I reach for my guitar and go down the rabbit hole for an hour or so.
What a song and a great rendition of it. Suzanne takes me back…..to high school literature class in the early 1970’s. Evidently our teacher liked Leonard Cohen (and Rod McKuen), or that was maybe about as edgy and contemporary as a high school lit/English teacher in a small town could get back then.
All I can, or need to say George is holy cow. this is a another masterpiece ; a marriage of an iconic, perfect song along with your beautiful , perfect guitar playing and perfect perfect performance . Bravisimo😊❤!
I met Judy Collins backstage in Seattle over 50 years ago, thanks to my ex mother-in-law, who knew a childhood friend of Judy's. I was literally speechless and simultaneously spellbound by her beautiful blue eyes. But what I really wanted to ask her was how to play the guitar accompaniment to 'Suzanne.' I am always mesmerized by the guitar work in her recording of that song --- and there are 2 or 3 guitars, not just one. You've deciphered the main guitar backing for 'Suzanne' pretty well, George. This is really excellent, and love your singing, too. Thanks so much. Looking forward to hearing the CD you and brother made.
Suzanne is my favourite Leonard Cohen song, and I love that song even more when it's sung by someone else. So now my favourite covers are Nina Simone's and yours. Beautifully crafted. Well done! It's my go to song to sing when I grab my guitar and am not sure what to play, even if I know I don't do it justice, I feel it talks directly to my soul.
I like this the best of all versions I have ever heard. Something about the vocal. It did not strike me as droning which was always my reaction to this song in the past which made it very hard for me to listen to. This was lovely and finally I could "hear" it. Thanks.
Hi George! Really love your music; thank you for sharing it, it’s very inspiring to an aspiring musician like myself. Just a question, if you don’t mind: what recording set up do you use? Thanks in advance :)
Extremely talented and an interesting version of the song. I just wonder why today's singers don't seem to have the testosterone in the voice like generations before. Maybe it was all the cigarettes?
Thanks George. Another winner. That must be a very difficult pick you're playing and it makes an unusual arrangement of this rather boring Cohen song..like most of his! Lol
Hi John, this is a 1930 Gibson L-1. It has Adirondack top, Mahogany back and sides, 1 11/16” nut, 2 5/16” string spacing, light gauge strings, X braced. It’s extremely lightweight and responsive. I love it. Hope that helps!
@GeorgeClementsMusic thank you sir, that will send me in the right direction as far as trying to have one made with torrified tone woods . I think your performances ,vocals, and playing are nothing short of perfect. Thank you for the information.

Wonderful stuff George! I'm a big Cohen fan and his songs are tricky to get right, you nailed it!
He is much more than a cover artist. Check his new album with his brother : Dandelion Breeze, it is very very good !
@@NeoSeveune yeah I've heard it and love it. didn't mean to imply he is exclusively a cover artist, just that his covers are top notch
No comment.Just great.
You have an especially relaxed, un-strained, voice. It’s very soothing.
You have a gift George. Please keep doing what you do

More Leonard Cohen, please. I’m a big fan and you do his music justice. If you’re taking requests, “Famous Blue Raincoat”.

He goes down to the river to be with a crazy woman who he has no love for. I think we can all relate to that.
Thanks George. Another winner. That must be a very difficult pick you're playing and it makes an unusual arrangement of this rather boring Cohen song..like most of his! Lol
I want to know every little thing about this 12 frett gibson style guitar you are playing in this video.
