    Will be forever in the Heavyweights gallery!! Great Rock Marciano!!!👏👏👏👏👏👏

    I’ve always thought of Marciano, Frazier, & Tyson as three heavyweights cut from the same cloth. They all had obvious degrees of refinement within that distinct “bullish “ style. They were all short in stature, short in reach, but stout in build. Tyson being the largest. They all were aggressive and unrelenting on offense. They all had great chins. They were driven and Undeterred in pursuit of the knockout. Marciano and Frazier were never out of condition, occasionally Tyson was. Marciano was the crudest but his bob & weave defense has been reconsidered and was underrated at the time. Frazier was idiosyncratic in deference to the great Henry Armstrong and was always bouncing his head up and down . Both were obsessed with getting inside and were willing to waste punches and take punishment to do so. Tyson was the most refined and efficient example of this style. He seldom wasted punches trying to get inside, and remained patient until the moment of eruption. Three heavyweights, a shared style, progressive degrees of refinement. A final observation. All three had massive thighs indicating strong legs and powerful leverage.

      Tyson whatever he met his match showed what he was really made of, as he did against holyfield, whom his handlers afterwards said they only signed in the first place, because they thought holyfield was washed- up, And in his last fight Tyson refused to come out and answer the Bell all together & quit on his stool.
      Many of Tyson's opponents were defeated mentally before they ever climbed in the ring against him.

      The Rock trained consistently, brutally hard. He retired, and aborted his comeback, because he was no longer willing or able to pay the price. Not because he ducked anybody.

      I believe Tyson had a more fragile mind set than either Marciano or Frazier. If the fight was going against Mike he started to mentally unravel and give up on himself. Rocky and Mike would never quit and lose belief, even if they were badly cut, dropped and exhausted.

      Exactly Rockys critics act like Walcott was some old bum, far from the truth. Along with Ali, Walcott was the slickest HW ever. And had dynamite in his hands, he put Joe Louis down 3 times in the 2 fights and was robbed in the first one. This against a 34 year old, younger Louis than the one that faced Rocky. Also that was a good win for Rocky, Louis was favourite, had more experience, was on a 10 fight win streak. And he was arguably the hardest puncher in HW history. And power is the last thing to go. But these Marciano haters, again change the narrative, to suit their agenda.

  • @godsnobody2915

    With all the Ali worshippers in this comment section, it's time for some truth. Ali was a great heavyweight but he wasn't the greatest - Joe Louis was. He made more title defenses than any heavy in history; he was so good that even at 37 years old, he was beating top guys before the Marciano fight. Please stop worshipping Ali. His greatest showing was against a broken down Cleveland Williams, who'd already been demolished twice by Liston, for God's sake. And had a bullet in his back. Please learn something about boxing history already.

    • @frankpaya690
      @frankpaya690 2 года назад +1

      Muhammad Ali was never known for being a power- puncture, he was known for his speed and out pointing people and stopping opponents on cuts. He didn't have the kind of punch Cleveland Williams had in his prime or Marciano or Lewis or Sonny Liston but he was perhaps the fastest heavyweight to hold the heavyweight championship.

    Here is the absolute truth, no gimmick, no issue of race, not his size, not his style, the fact is, like Muhammad Ali stated, this person, Rocky Marciano, could take unbelievable punishment. Ali said, upon being asked if he could beat Rocky, " I don't know if I could have beaten him because he could not be hurt". That's all, no more, no less. Now, post your arguments, but the fact remains, this was an indestructible person.

      @@Joe-gu6oe Yeah but just feel it would be difficult for Marciano to get near Ali. Then again if he caught him with the Walcott KO punch just once. Marciano has 2 Ali match-ups. Ali 60s and Ali 70s. I think his best chance against the faster but lighter 60s Ali. Because the 70s Ali took everything from every hard hitter there was in the 70s. But Henry Cooper got him in the 60s so you have to presume that Marciano will probably land on the 60s Ali.

Anyway, nothing new under the son--or Sonny, who was accused of spicing his vaseline by Machen and Ali. Must a long history of these sorts of things. andhe old Ring Magazine could have published a top-ten list on such illegal moves.

    Ali would have probably beat Marciano . Though nobody knows for sure because they never met .After all Ali beat good white contenders like Jerry Quarry and George Chuvalo . Frazier was a similar fighter too Marciano and gave Ali a lot of problems . The result of a fight between Marciano and Ali I believe would be Marciano stopped on cuts in about the tenth round

    • @beatlejim64
      @beatlejim64 3 года назад +6

      Marciano had one of the WORST cuts in boxing history in the second fight with the great Ezzard Charles in September 1954. He had his nose split in half all the way through! They couldn't stop the bleeding...his corner begged the doc and ref not to stop the fight! They gave Rocky one more round! He stormed out...KO'd Charles and retained the title! Marciano had a knack of coming up with the big punch when he needed it...it takes more than cuts to stop Rocky Marciano! 49-0 43 KO's. Champ from 1952 to 1956.

      @@beatlejim64 Yes Marciano showed amazing courage in his career .We are not talking about an Ezzard Charles here perhaps a little shop worn but Muhammad Ali.If Ali was to cut Marciano up which he did to several white fighters , I don't believe Rocky could achieve a KO over Ali like he did with Ezzard Charles. Marciano beat several great fighters during his career though none of these were probably in their prime . Ezzard Charles was near to his prime but he had already fought several wars . Look at the damage Ali inflicted on Joe Frazier, a similar fighter to Marciano . Except Frazier didn't cut like Marciano because he was black .Ali was not knocked out by George Foreman,Earnie Shavers,Ron Lyle and Sonny Liston so could Marciano manage it bleeding and hurt ? I take your point about Marciano and his one punch power and that punch that destroyed Jersey Joe Walcott was incredible .I'm not saying a Marciano KO of Ali is impossible just unlikely
